  1. Well, Bob and Becky came back home to Western NY and brought the snow with him. I have 4" on the ground and more on the way. I am working on the WNY Trailer Raffle paperwork at the moment and, as I look out the window, it is coming down at the rate of 2" an hour. I live on the southern edge of Lake Ontario, which is a prime area for lake effect and we are getting it today as the wind is from the North, coming right across the lake and picking up all the moisture from the open water. But, as everyone knows, we are having a very mild winter here in Western NY. HEY, BOB......when are you going back South and taking this snowy weather with you???????? But, as Big Tom said, early next week the temps are supposed to rise into the high 40's and all this snow will disappear. Jim
  2. Why do you need a tach???. Just run it up to the rev limiter and shift!!!!!!
  3. Get your tickets while there hot!!! Best 10 bucks you will ever spend. You even have a choice of colors!
  4. There is a Yama Venture Line backrest on eBay, if anyone is interested. Not sure of the condition, as the pics are not very good and description is lacking. Item number is 330665933646. Jim

  6. Rick: Merry Christmas to you and Michelle. Enjoy the holidays. And Tom, the local powers that be will not let Rick off his leash until all the S*** is gone for the season. We may not see him until the Spring!! Jim
  7. I just bought a Kindle Fire for my wife and she loves it. Has WiFi plus internet and e-mail, all in a smaller package than the Apple iPad. She has mobile hotspot on her iPhone so she can connect to the Internet anywhere to down load books, and all the other stuff on the Internet. Plus you can transfer files from a computer to the Kindle Fire and have all your information, right at your fingertips, in a very small package. I am going to buy one for myself to take with me when I travel. Plus, as noted above, Gutenberg has thousands of free books to download.
  8. Hey Steve: It might be your bank trying to tell you something!!! ($00.00 Balance!!!!!!) Jim
  9. We don't have a need for a garbage disposal. We eat out almost every night of the week. Our disposal is hardly broken in after 16 years, so it should last another 16 years.
  10. Are those pop out things the garage for the scoot?????
  11. Don: I have a Motorola Atrix 4G (Android) and am now beginning to like it. It has a mobile hotspot to hook your laptop to without a cable (tether) and has a voice command to search for anything you may need. I use it to find the closest restaurant or gas station. I haven't been able to stump it yet. I like being able to use my laptop in the car without having to tether it. I don't know the range but I can walk all over my home with my laptop and not lose the wireless signal from the phone. I have only had it for a week or so, so I am still learning all it's features. I use AT&T for my carrier and have never been without a signal. Also, 4G service is only available in the larger cities on AT&T's network. It is not as extensive as Verizon's service area. But I imagine they will catch up pretty quickly. I also have a company cell phone and they allow us to use it for personal use and do not monitor or review the calls. I also do not want the company looking at my calls, so I have kept my personal cell and make all my calls from that. The company has never said anything to anyone about the minute usage on the company phones. And I know that some of our guys talk as much as 4 HOURS a day on their company phones with their personal calls. Jim
  12. Steve: Here is a photo of the rectangular ones on my 89 VR. They are mounted on the horn brackets. I bought them from Wally World and are cheap. They are plastic housings. About $20 (USD). They are 55 watt each and do a good job of lighting up the road. Jim
  13. Bob: Americade is June 5th to 9th, with a pre-reg party on the night of the 4th. Jim
  14. Steve: I have a set of driver floorboards with shifting levers but one of the mounting spacers is missing. I used a series of washers to install it on my bike. I have an 89 VR. I am in the process of trying to find someone to make me one. I will then sell them for $225. I don't have pics yet, I will take some this weekend and send them to you. E-mail me if interested: jwcrane@frontiernet.net Jim
  15. I'm in for 2. thanks Jim
  16. I have the Wiley X glasses also, with scrips in them and with transition lenses. They work great and I should have bought them years ago. I bought them thru my optician. They are a bit pricey but work great and will withstand an impact from stones, etc at high speeds. Jim
  17. I had Earl (Skydoc) remove the helmet locks under the trunk and use those two flanges to mount a flat SS plate to install a Custom Dynamics light bar. I don't have a pic of it on this computer, as I am on the road this week. But I will take a pic of it and post it on Friday, when I am home. It looks good and looks like it belongs there. Jim
  18. I'm still in for a set Thanks, Carl. Jim
  19. Bob: And a monkey with a metal cup!!!!!!!!! Bob, you have too much time on your hands!! Jim
  20. Carl: I will take a set, too. Can you ship to the US? Jim

  22. Happy Birthday, Earl!! I hope to see you in a few weeks, I have some work for you. My list is getting longer each week! Enjoy the day!!! Jim
  23. Phil: Sorry to hear about the bike. I am looking for the radio and intercom if you are willing to part with them. Thanks Jim
  24. Steve: I have one of those chrome pieces you are looking for. It's in my storage area, so I will look for it this weekend and check it for you. If it is in one piece, you can have it. I'll get back to you this weekend. Jim
