4. thanks Keith for that info. i know that Jim Morrison has been in contact with Lonnie and that he is trying to get over to see him. i hope it works out, cause i'll be the first one to buy his backrest !!
5. The guy who wants to see the RSTD bike is Lonnie and his Ph.# is 608.346.1337....give him a call if you can take your bike to him....thanks to all..............!!
6. jimbob5, thank you for the offer but the bike needs to be a royal star tour deluxe - i am not certain the venture & RSTD are the same...anyone know for sure??
7. Joe, i'm not certain but i do not see any verbiage on his ebay site which states it's adjustable. Steve, thank you for contacting him, please keep us posted as to any progress. fyi his sight does say that his backrest works with stock seat and rear seat is required.
8. i am working with an eBay seller (axe63) who makes very affordable backrests for various model Yamahas - however he does NOT make one for the RSTD. i told him i would post here, asking for someone on this forum to take a ride to him for him to take some measurements (would need to remove seat). if anyone is interested and can help please let me know and i'll get more details...thanks to all ! :-) Buz
9. try mineral spirits...it ought to soften those bugs up and it won't harm the paint...just rewax when you're done. i drag raced for many years and washed the melted rubbber off the rear quarter panels for years using mineral spirits, never dulled or harmed the paint.. buz
10. about one year ago i purchased some road king pipes on ebay. you can order the baffle (removable by one bolt) of you choice from quiet to loud and even louder by removing the baffles. their quality is excellent and have great customer service. they have 3 tip styles, the down slash, reverse slash and straight cut. they aren't exactly cheap but imo they are worth it. you would also need to purchase a set of brackets (several members sell them). here is the ebay site...check it out and good luck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WILD-PIG-PIPES-SLIP-ON-MUFFLERS-FOR-HARLEY-DRESSERS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1240Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem41477ca8fbQQitemZ280372226299QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
11. I just installed a Hoppe fairing on my 07 RSTD and noticed a lot of wind coming under it. Has anyone installed a Hoppe and modified a set of lowers to deflect the wind? pics would be nice if possible.
12. anyone besides me who has a problem with the link that Randy provided, it doesn't take me to the article?
13. curious to know where you purchased your fairing? i'm fixing to buy one myself for my 07 RSTD from Phat Performance ($1399).
14. where can i get more specific details about the wv skid in ?
15. that is one nice & clean installation - might try that myself ! Buz
16. ronl, my son showed me how - use the website below and next to the "File" box you will 'Browse'..click on that box and you now get the opportunity to browse (i.e. look around in) your computer files...find the file your picture is in - once you find the picture you want to use just 'double click' on it and you will notice that back in the "File" box you will see a location - click on "UPLOAD NOW" and wait a few seconds - another screen pops up - in the" Links To Share", high light and copy the IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards...... go back to Venturrider and make a post and after you're done typing your words - 'paste' in the IMG code that you previously copied and you will see the location now in your post - go to 'preview' your post and you should see your words and your picture... now click on "submit reply" and it will be posted to the forum.....it sounds complicated but once you've done it several times it's a breeze....good luck http://tinypic.com/
17. prayed for you this morning
18. Here are a few pics of the detachable bracket i'm manufacturing & selling. This bracket has Rosette thumbscrews which make the on/off process quick & easy. There are six (6) one inch slotted holes to make the bracket fairly universal, although you may need to drill your own holes if your tour pak can't make these holes work. Can be purchased in black powder coat to match the bikes framework, unfinished (either one $199.00 + shipping) chrome plated ($325.00 + shipping). the Rosette thumbscrews will screw directly into the existing threaded (chrome capped) hole on either side of fender bracket. http://i42.tinypic.com/1hcpk0.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/5n55pu.jpg

20. thanks guys for the help & part # - at least now i know what diameter size to purchase.
21. I have an 07 RSTD, we measured the crash bar diameter is it appears to just a tad under 3/4". the smallest diameter that i see for Kuryakyn Iso Pegs are 1". anyone here with a rstd have these pegs and if so what is the part # and will i need to make a shim ? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions. Another thing, i'm buying the Hoppe Quadzilla fairing for my bike and i would like to add passing lamps (or light bar which ever you prefer) and need ideas/suggestions also.
