  3. Ok so I'm assuming that it has been colder there than the present temp. All that is metal will be cold and with the high humidity with the rain and all, moisture will collect on all those cold items, scoots, tools, lawn mowers, jacks, you name it. Nothing you can do but try to keep the metal the same temp as the air, which is hard to do in your case. The best defense that I can think of is to spray all the surfaces with a wax or WD40, but then that leaves the problem as to how to remove it later. Even an osculating fan might be of help, just to try to equalize the temp (air and metal). As for the inside of the engine? My guess is that would see moisture as well. Best to plug the carbs and exhaust with an oiled rag when it's still warm, not hot, just a little warmer than the outside air.

    Need Advice.

If you take all the advice so far, it should work for you, good luck.
  13. Didn't say I never did it, or will ever do it again, lol, but they sure made a good point of it at riders training, guess they figured we'd all do it sooner or later and probably sooner and later and then again later,,,,,,,,,,,
  14. Oh sorry, I thought you said dog. On to the next thread.
  15. When I took my novice training course we were not allowed to touch the bike until we were all suited up, proper pants, boots, gloves, jacket and helmet. One guy forgot to tie the strap on his helmet twice after which he was told to find some else to train him. We were then allowed to start the scoot but not mount it, wait until it was warmed up, gun it a couple of times to make sure it responded properly, PUSH IN THE CHOKE and only then were we allowed to mount up. GOOD TRAINING!!!! can get somewhat tricky if the choke is out and the idle a little high when you need to stop suddenly.
  16. Careful with that green stuff under your scoot, it has a tendancy to turn white while you're asleep, just my experince anyways. Nice scoot, 'course it a Yammi and black!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happy65: ENJOY
  17. What's an ultra????????????
  18. I'm really starting to like this guy, he's fitting right in, only thing we have to keep him away from Freebirds or keep a real close eye on him while he's there, you all know waht happened to Charlie and he ain't been the same since.
  19. You better have one of those there deck raising bees if you want him to come over, lets see, there Squidley, Lumberjack, Mother,,,,, just to name a few, and then there's Joopie, well I'll tell ya I hope I can make him a regular customer. Don't know if I can stack enough pepperettes in the scoot to keep them all going for that trip, may have to take the trailer. Now before you get all hepped up about getting together in the spring, Joopie, keep in mind >Marcarl's Meet & Greet, May 24th 2008

Every dark cloud has a silver lining, sometime we just can't see it. Let it pass, go on with your life and let others live their's. Their life is their responsblity and if they get taken out,,,,,,,that's what accountabilty is all about.
  21. More abrasion resistant? could be and so is kevlar and steel. I just wonder why use leather at all. The leather must be very thin, or completely remade to be able to stretch like that. Might just as well do away with it altogether.
  22. A minister told me one time that there is an angel riding with me when I go out in my car, one on each corner, ( according to angel literature there are lots to go around). Now they stay there, and help protect me, as long as I stayed within the law. If I started breaking the law, then they would get off and I would be on my own. Seems reasonable to me, but that raises the question, why the visit to the alter when you know you're going to do wrong? Doesn't all tie in, in my mind. Can he ride? I suppose so, it was all calculated risk, anyone could do that if he\she had the guts, thing is some of us see too much risk and enjoy other things in life too much and don't want to loose them so we won't risk it. Will some other young bucks try what he did \ does. You bet they will and maybe not have the luck, energy, calculations, or the guts to end up with the rubber down. One tiny bit out, one little bit too slow, just a wee bit too soon and he's dead meat.
  23. Covering up the red flasher will also cover up anything else that may go wrong and you maybe kicking your butt later, better to fix the problem at it's source and give some more draw. Put in two more brake lights and see what happens, it may give enough draw for the sensor and still be less than OEM and then give the added advantage of having more brake lights. I have LEDs ordered for mine but I have 4 extra bulbs on my light rail and two extra LED strips. Will let you know how that works out when it comes in the mail. BTW when I used the LEDs in my brake light I was not happy with the results, ok at night but not worth a darn in the sunlight, couldn't even see the change while looking at them, let alone if you weren't looking directly at them.
  24. Just think about all the pension money those little critters will be paying in the years to come so that you can draw it out. I know, I know, you paid enough yourself already eh? news for you then: that's all gone already:rotf: Be a HAPPY SANTA
  25. Met Joopie today, he just walked right in as if he had been here before. We shook hands, introduced each other, said hello, talked about business, and the girls, went out to see if Scamper was still alright, talked about room for the most important in life, felt a gentle warm breeze, gave him some pepperettes and there he was gone. Wonder why he came around? Maybe just to get an invite for dinner with his bride of 30 years. Well he got it, and soon we'll eat and meet together. Actually he's quite a nice guy, rides a Venture (2nd gen:confused:) and is looking to do some Venturing around when it gets warmer, looking forward to it already.
