  1. Actually, I'm doing pretty good. The crutches have been parked, but I don't make a big issue of walking just yet. I don't think Marca has noticed that I'm somewhat mobile, so I'm just letting her nurse me for a little while longer,,,, just so that she'll have it down pat,,,,you never know who else may need some nursing in the future. Sat on the scoot yesterday, and almost went for a ride,,,,,but thought the better of that, after all it was Sunday and we had company coming,,,, didn't want anybody getting the 'wrong' impression. As it worked out,,,,,food was real good, company was super and the pictures from the rally were much appreciated. Carl
  2. It's going to take a while for this news to sink in. I really thought God had some plans for him here, after all the education he went through. Now I see he was training to be in heaven, and be a servant there. We just never know when that time comes. Guess we should all be more ready. Our prayers for Alice and the rest of the family, We'll pray for comfort and peace, and that the days ahead will, in the end, be a blessing to all. The Shepherds arms are always there to surround those who ask in the time of need. Please let us know about funeral arrangements. Carl & Marca
  3. Wow. Now you can ride, ride, and ride some more. You look really good on that there scooter, just need to update your driving habits a little, mostly I notice that you're on the wrong side of the road,,,, now if everybody else does the same, I guess it's ok, but watch out for any Americans, we think we own that side.
  4. Wow , that was great to watch all that. Thanks Cindy. We'll be at the next one.!!!! Marcarl
  5. That white stuff is called SNOW and if you move to Texas then you'll get homesick for the stuff,,, but don't worry, I hear our government is arranging with the US government to keep more of it south of the border, some about fair trade, and global equalization.
  6. So there is love in you heart after all, I just knew we would see it one day.
  7. When I read the post, I thought OhOh, now where am I going,,,,,,Phueeee, I can stay put, guess I'm not that bad after all.
  8. That was an awesome show of control, and knowing how to ride. I might someday,,, but it's going to take a year or two,,,,or ,,,,,,,,,,,
  9. So where is this place called Texas,, seems there are some people that live there,,,,it just can't be anything like ONTARIO though. Ontario is home, it has four seasons, people come from all over just to be here and say they've been here, and it's got to have the best of everything. I could go on and on, but I have important things to do and I don't want everybody coming here to live, we have enough nuts here already.
  10. lewiiiiiiiiiisssss
  11. You sure you got that right? I thought for you it would be.... Ride to paint....pant to ride
  12. If your going to do that, better do it soon before this whole site goes south. Not that anybody would let her do that,,,,,,butttttt it might be be prudent to be careful, I've met her kind before:stirthepot:
  13. Do young bucks normally remember when they get a 'kick in the butt'? I do think he'll remember though and not with love on his mind.
  14. I don't remember that thread, but I do remember that the Pres. of OMSA where I went for MC training, rode with one arm and so had controls made up. You can contact him at: http://www.rideomsa.com/ Hope this can help you, they are awesome folks. His name is Don Gibson.
  15. Why not come to Ontario, Marca & I are sitting on the deck with sweaters on and long pants, what an awesome evening.
  16. Can't help you none other than those are aftermarket pipes. If you look at my pictures, I have OEM. I've seen more 1st gens with those on, so maybe we'll get it figured for you.
  17. The klunk is common on a hot start. Slow starting is mostly fixed with upgraded battery cables, clean connections and a cleaned up and properly lubed starter.
  18. Just the two of you, or are there more tagging along.
  19. Gotta say though,,, it works just fine, haven't had a prolem with it at all, and I haven't lent it out to anyone yet.
  20. I'm thinking I'd like to be in on this deal as well, So put me down for 5 as well.
  21. Make sure you have NO air pressure in the front. Sometimes it slips in there unnoticed, so it pays to check.

    wake up

Stop your groaning,,,,nap time is over and it's time for you to start feeling sorry for me again.
  23. Be nice when you go to meet these people. Listen to Lonna on how to behave properly and you'll do fine. Oh and don't forget to put on some nice clothes and my mom always said to make sure you change your underwear,,,don't know why she would have told me that,,,,,,I mean,,,,,,,,,,,anyways, just passing on good info from my mom.
  24. All god technical info so far, but what gets me is that it only seems to do it under predetermined conditions, that you have discovered, in other words you can make it happen or not. That leads me to believe that you might have something to do with it. So check out what you are inadvertantly doing when this happens. Yes, you are cranking on the throttle, but what else is happening. My first thought goes to: what swings back or is pushed back so that a short is created, and when the forward pressure is released by sudden lack of power, what ever caused that to happen, now has 'swung' back out of the way and agian you have power, which then in turn starts the issue all over again. So what happens if you can duplicate this on the center stand, I know that would be entirely impossible, but you can pretend a little a see what happens. The other thing that happens is that you change position as you crank on the power, do you knees grab the bike? if so, try to emulate what your body does without cranking on the throttle, now how does the scoot react,,,,,,,got my idea? Maybe I just provided some dumb reading, but it kept me entertained for 15 minutes.
  25. Give me a call, Wayne and I just went through the same issue with his 84. Took us 3 weks to figure it all out, now he rides happy. 519.753.6856
