Along with all that stuff, my wife says I have to carry a half roll of TP, just in case I should end up at FreeBird's MD, and you should know you can't go there without some of that stuff.

85 VR Tachometer "sluggish"
Marcarl replied to spitfire9's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey Ray, he's not worried about the speedo just yet, it's the tach he has an issue with. Probably will do well with a little lubrication, but I have not heard of anybody doing it so far. If you do go to lube it, do the speedo at the same time. Golf& Venture makes a good tool for the speedo, check it out: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=69034 -
That bowl empties out over night, there's another one that needs to have the handle pushed, and the cat says to leave hers alone. Last time I ran the scoot was Wed last week. Went to start it yesterday (Monday) and it took 2 full shots of pumping time to fill the bowls, that's my story and I'm sticking to it,,, maybe.

Windf off hands
Marcarl replied to Billkroeger's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My handlebars are down low, but I've also added a little width to the windshield this winter. Will have to see how it all pans out for my lady, but for me so far,, it's plain good! -
Sure looks messy, took a good hit,,,, no wonder you ended up in sick bay for a while. Are you healing up ok now?

Did notice that you are missing something though. I have a couple of sets left if you like. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67117

Getting it out is the easy part, putting it back in you have to hold your tongue just right,, and not that right, the other right,, or was it the middle right?????

You didn't say anything about the spark plugs, so I would suggest you change those before doing much else. Also, don't go cheap on the plugs, go to a real auto supply store to buy them, maybe a bit more money, but the chances of them working is much better.

Replacing Front Wheel Bearings
Marcarl replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
To keep matters simple thee inside of the wheel where the axle goes through is made of 3 main pieces. Two bearings and a long spacer that goes from bearing to bearing. The spacer can move from side to side at one end to allow one to drive out the outer race of a bearing from the opposite side. It takes a little bit of care, but that's how the manual says to do it and it does work. Not sure if both sides of the spacer will move over to allow this, but I know one side will. -
Anytime you are ready, just let me know and they'll be on the way.

Check out the following thread, hope it gives you enough info, if not, let me know. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67117

Soooooo are you going to put all those pieces back on the gears?????? inquiring mind wants to know.

That don't look so good,,, need to do a little fixing maybe I think. Glad you is OK. If you had taken your scoot you would have missed him, it takes at least 2 seconds to get your helmet on, and he would have been gone by the time you got there.

Ya, I went to look to make sure Scamper was where I left it, then I noticed the backrest and the rear light bar that scamper don't have. Real nice looking scoot, one of a kind for sure. Noticed that you are missing the shiny lower side covers though, I have a few left, mirrored stainless, if you think you might need them.

Suffering for yourself is one thing, but watching some one else suffer, whom you love, can be very trying. Some times we as care givers suffer more than they patient themselves. We also will hold you all up in prayer, so that you will receive the strength and comfort you need.

Marcarl replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
Well now, what kind of 12v does this run on,,, maybe we've forgot that we have used up about all the 'ambient' 12v we have. -

Fuel pump issue
Marcarl replied to Marcarl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for the info, did it all as instructed. My guess is that either I had a bad connection, which I doubt because of the shape of things as I took them apart, or I have a relay that hung up, which is a better thought from my side. Either way, Gary is sending me another to carry with me in case I have another down time. Then it should only be about 5 minutes to get it running again. Thanks again. About the way it happened actually. I left home, and up the street to the stop sign, that's where it quit. To get back home there was a little incline before I could actually ride it downhill, until I got to the garage and then a couple of neighbours helped me push it in.
