  1. Yup, them & their near beer, some flavouring but that's about all............. :stirthepot:
  2. Here is a link, but can't find the "official" one though. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-Safety/Modulator-regs-canada.htm
  3. I have recently tried the single bulb version of this setup, on my 83 VR http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/headlight-modulator/dual-modulator.htm & found that the bike thinks high beam is burnt out.
  4. Don't think he could handle living in our area, soggy riding all through most of the winter. But then he can't ride in the winter, but then I can't this winter (being in alberta)
  5. Flatout MC has the console panel listed for $31.56 new.
  6. Not sure myself, but it felt great to be back on the scoot (even without any front fairing), after taking out a deer with it. Would have been back on it sooner, but needed the waterpump to thermostat coolant tube first.
  7. I had cut off the outward portion from the vertical tabs, used longer bolts with lock nuts. The upper part of the mounts are different, from the early ones & you may come up with a different method. But this was my quick & dirty solution to the mounting differences.
  8. You will need to modify the mounts. But aside from that, they fit quite nicely.
  9. :rotf:Probably with your tounge hanging out too, drooling all over the place. :stirthepot:

    No No No

I have been scraping the frost off the seat, to head to work in the mornings, here in Wainwright............
  11. So much, for getting in on an order next year, I guess.:bang head:
  12. Still waiting for internet hookup, in my room at the barracks & have limited time at work to check the site.
  13. Charlie made his own in another thread & I think this will qualify, as a "whine". "Looking to purchase Winter tires. for my scoot .Winter came in early:crying: ". In fairness, I must say that I had to scrape frost off the bike, the other morning, before riding it.
  14. I second that motion (Agree), for Mini Muffin to work on it.
  15. How did you manage to get Ruffrider99 out of Florida???????? If so, this could be worse, than Charlies pics....... :bang head::stirthepot::stirthepot:
  16. Not that I am aware of on frames, but you can run a VIN check on any warranty fixes, at the dealer. I did it last year on my 83.
  17. Check out this thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8906
  18. Look up from under the bike, on the left side. Check this out, it is in the Tech Library http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1521
  19. As I said on the phone there are a pair of pins that need to have a jumper on the din connector that goes to the cassette deck (if there is no cassette deck installed). Who knows which pins need the jumper??? The factory sound system had CB as an Option, same with the intercom & intercom is easy to add, see these threads for more info Use the search tab above & look for YV-41 to get these threads.
  20. Maybe try to find new seals at a Hydraulic supply shop. Of course the caliper will need to be split, for sizing & have the old ones with you too. Get one or a complete a set of calipers 1st, so far the supply has been good & they are usually cheap on ebay. I like to have a spare set to have for re-building, with as little downtime as possible & no pressure to rebuild as fast as possible to get back on the scoot.
  21. I will be putting in a combination headlight modulator & relay soon (after it arrives), it will be interesting to see if low beam will be better at night, drawing from the battery Vs the normal wiring harness. Then, might try other bulbs too. Here is a link to what I am putting in http://www.comagination.com/relay-kit-headlight-modulator.htm
  22. Why not keep them for winter pipes, just in case global warming kicks in & you can get out on the scoot. I know you are on the wrong coast, to do that on a normal basis, like I normally do. :stirthepot:
  23. From my initial impression on reading this post: I think you have a busted weld holding your exhaust baffle in place. It is not a must do right now, but the sound may get on your nerves. There are instructions here, on the repair. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1002
  24. Possibly air in the line, between the steering neck & the left anti-dive. This can be a PITA to bleed as there is no bleeder at the high point at the steering neck, on these early 1st gens. Another thing can be a seized left front caliper.
  25. I am getting ready to do this myself this winter too, as it will be parked for an extended period, what a change. Winter in Wainwright, no riding for months, due to snow. That is like torture to me........... :bawling:
