  3. Could it be possible to simply slip a previous trailer plate on that is already owned by you on the new trailer and slip it thru the border that way? Then after getting home get all the paper work done to fully legalize it? Is it worth the aggravation of possibly getting busted by the border folks? What's worse case scenario? Larry
  4. Push up and follow the windshields contour. Then there'll be 6-7 screws for the windshield to remove. Larry
  5. Yea I seen that it was Voyager type kit and thus not a true trike in the sense of it having only 3 wheels. Like you I feel those units all have a whole other set of problems concerning riding them. I know of a few who have em and most say they would rather have a true trike. Costs is one of the reasons folks choose these set ups over trike coversions. You bring up a good point about leaning the bike and then running out of lean. I don't know the answer to that as I haven't ridden a bike with a Voyager type set up. Maybe Frogman can shed some light on this as he has one on his 99. From what I've read and people I've talked to these type rigs are a bear to turn thou. Larry
  6. I have to take exception to the comparison between the Honda atv's and current state of mc trike in general. For one thing the atv's were short and narrow, and mostly run over rough terrain. Add in a kid doing jumps or cranking the throttle and you certainly do have a recipe for disaster. By comparison a mc trike is run on smooth roads are longer and wider. I've got almost 10k on my trike now and only twice have I lifted a rear wheel and both of those times were done delibertly in a parking lot checking to see just what extremes I had to do to do so. I've ridden side car rigs before thou no way near the miles and from personal experince I'll take a trike over the side car rig anyday for stability. Like I said in an earlier post all bikes have limitations whether it be on 2 or 3 wheels. You get tossed off any bike and you'll be hurting in most cases. Larry
  7. Yes accidents can happen regardless of the number of wheels under you. Be it 2, 3, or 4. Gotta agree with papa smurf here too as I have also talked to other trikers who seem to think all their worries are over now that they're on 3. Not going to happen as a trike has it's own set of problems unique to it's design. Same goes for regular 2 wheeled bikes. Or even side car rigs. We all must stay vigilant while riding our bikes. Prayers for Debbie and Jerry. Hope she has a full recovery too. Larry
  8. I've got the Kurykyan magnum Pilot offsets on my bike. Similar to the Longhorn models pictured above. I think they are a bit shorter in length than the Longhorns but find mine are just right for me. Have them adjusted so that the long arm just clears the vent with the vent fully open. Larry
  9. That would be great if you could set up something thru your buddy. If it helps to know the package size you'll be looking at a box 5" thick, 13" wide and 26" long max with a weight of 12 or 20lbs depending on which model Flugur choses. Larry
  10. Yea I seen that but I'm sure we could work out something for him. He wouldn't be the 1st member that I provided a detailed drawing of my lifts for a small fee due to them being overseas. This is of course that he'd be using the plans strictly for his own use. Larry
  11. After time has gone by and with new info out it's a Kawasaki Voyager being brought back to life in it's new form. There's some other links here at the site showing the info. Larry
  12. Ah but Flugur I do make a lift adapter for the older Royals. I make them with or without the leg attachments, same as the Ventures and RSTD's but modified to clear the horizontial shock of the older Royals.   14. Make sure the horns are getting a good ground. If they work fine when bench testing them, then you have a wiring problem somewhere. Larry

  16. Certainly an interesting bike. I too would of been interested in it if it had been available in 05 when I bought my Venture. Like others here have said Yamaha may be losing out big time if they either don't get their act together or even worse if they don't give the people the stuff they want on a touring bike. Have a buddy who's just about ready to pull the plug on his 07 H-D Road Glide and buy a Vision. He's had his bike in the shop way too much already (at least 5 times I know of)and getting fed up with it. Larry

  19. Brad & Don have some good advice there on the area. I'm probably going up the west coast from Muskegon to Mackinaw myself this coming weekend. I know if we don't do this route we'll do a east coast run along Lake Huron and related back country roads. Either way will be good. My son, Eric has one of his rare 2 day weekends and we're going to make use of it by taking a bike trip together with the wives. Weather reports for the rest of this week and thru Sunday are predicting near perfect riding weather too. Larry
  20. Nicely done Cliff. I know how much work you did on these 2 bikes. Painting seems one of the skills that have eluded me over the years. Like others here I do good to use a spray can with good results. Larry
  21. Yamaha realized they missed the boat designing the 1st gens so after quit making them in 93 for 6 years decided it was time to make em right. Thus the 2nd gen bikes we have to this very day. Regardless if there is any resemblences to the Harley brands if you'll look you'll see these bikes are much more advanced, thou I will admit Harley is now playing catch up. Yea jt might be right about a certain redneck's "blue & white" but it should cause the redneck is a pretty big fellow and add in the fact that the 2nd gens are heavier , well you can see it's a tough fight. Myself I'll gladly give up a little speed for the comfort the 2nd gens provide over the 1st gen models. Anyhow welcome to the site here Dave and pay no mind to those . Larry

  23. Neat machine but for the majority of people highly impracticle. Sorta like the Dodge Thomahawk made a couple years ago. It certainly does showcase the builders building skills and I'll tip my hat to him for a great finished product. Wonder how much vibes that V-Twin puts out too. Now put that bad baby in a trike or as suggested a sidecar rig and we just might have something!! Larry
