  1. was this the first valve adjustment in 50k miles? how far off were they?
  2. so how about my 2004 GMC Sierra that came from the factory with DOT approved passenger (not LT) tires? More information on this and other darkside (non) issues on Delphi not wanting to start an argument, but there are only two tires spec'd in the owners manual for tires, and they aren't Metzlers or Dunlops or Avon's so that argument doesn't hold water either.
  3. I installed mine this weekend. The right side was a piece of cake. On the left side I had to loosen the shifter and I removed the floorboard. There are two bolts that hold the shifter to the bracket, take those loose and there is enough room to install the bolt. Pretty easy.
  4. no reason to wait on the leveling links, it will literally take you 10 minutes to change out. it is VERY easy to do. you do NOT have to remove anything from the bike to change them out, just need a lift to take the tension off of the rear shock.
  5. done a carb sync lately?
  6. I'm guessing the reason they give you a 5 year warranty is because you don't need it. Mine was never back to the dealer once.
  7. check your policy. your tire is DOT approved, that is all most care about.
  8. Having installed my last weekend and simple wiring it up the way it was intended, there isn't any problem, so I am going to leave it as is and just enjoy the brighter light.
  9. The metz is the reason I WENT to the darkside.
  10. Too late now, but that is why I always were a skull cap or do rag.
  11. As far as my install went, not much need for instructions. Remove the old bulb from the bucket, install new bulb in the bucket. Plug into the old harness with the only plug that will fit. Find a place for the ballast and route its wires through the bucket and plug its connectors to the matching connectors. Find a hot for the red wire, find a ground. Ride.
  12. I think all of the smaller tires say that. I pulled a similar one from Texas to Kansas and back no problem.
  13. As I said earlier, I bought my tire from Discount Tire, took my wheel with me and told them it was for my sidecar. They told me that if it would fit on their machine they would mount it. Had no problems.
  14. That stinks. That was one reason I bought mine from Discount Tire. They mounted it for me no problem.
  15. You done good!
  16. I've got some wire loom around somewhere, will probable use that.
  17. There may be room in the bucket, but I doubt it. The wires aren't long enough to hide in the lowers, but like I said you could probable put it on the back side of the handlebar mount and have it all hidden that way. The exposed wires don't bother me, I like having easy access if I need it. You should be able to use some existing power wires. The kit comes with a 10a fuse in line, so you are protected that way. It also has a connector that you plug into the stock headlight bulb, it uses this for the relay activation and for the high beam activation. Pretty nice. All you have to add is the ground and hot.
  18. Ok, so it is very very bright. Think I'm going to really like it. As a bonus since it is 35W instead of the stock 55W, bought a little headroom on the electrical system.
  19. I installed mine today, it was SIMPLE. The kit makes plugging everything very easy. The hardest part is running the power wire back to the battery. See posts here for pictures.
  20. Just finished installing a HID headlight in my 05 RSTD from Canadian Cruiser Customizing. Have to say this was one of the easiest changes to do. Everything was plug and play and went together very easy. The hardest part is running the positive back to the battery. I zip tied my ballast to the back of the bracket that the headlight mounts too. Looks like you could also install it on the backside of the mount for windshield, but I didn't feel like taking everything back apart. Haven't had it out at night to tell the difference, but the installation was simple.
  21. Is there a fuse that is on only when the bike is running? Would like to add a relay for new HID headlight and wire the relay to come on only after the bike has started.
  22. Not hard but some work. Need to re-route cabling. Brake, clutch, both throttles, cruise control. You will lose your stock end weights unless you figure out a way to keep them (I did). You have to drill a small hole for the throttle grip.
  23. Need to get different handlebars. Flanders 650-08783 is what I have on mine.
  24. Looks good. Gonna add a cooler rack?
