If before you ever wax the rack, you'll put a good coat of clear fingernail polish on the weld area's you should really have little problem from them rusting. After a few day, then wax them. Steve

I've got a Piggy Backer. Love it. Have used it for the last 3 years all over the Tennessee and Ky mountains. Have taken it on the I to Milwaukee. I never even know it's behind my bike till I look. I did have a closure hasp break ( my fault). I left it unlatched and walked into it. I called the folks at Piggy Backer. They sent me 2 new ones. Got them 2 days after I called them. They would not let me pay for them. They just said "thanks for buying from us". They are great folks with a great product Also their frame is heavy welded square steel, not bolted together. A friend bought a BushTec. That's a very nice trailer too. It's a whole lot prettier, but holds no more than mine. Doesn't tow any differently. Doesn't keep stuff dryer or neater. Just cost a whole lot more! His may last longer, but for the price, I can easily replace the box many, many times, if I ever need to. He spent over $3000. I spent $600. For the price, I'd definately buy from them first. It's kind of like the Harley thing. Pay more for the same thing or less cause they're prettier or have the name. JMO Steve

I've got the Harbor Freight Chock. Put it on my Harbor Freight Lift. Like others wrote, the tire is almost too wide even for this chock. It'll go in but not seat quite like it should. You still need to strap the bike down. It's major advantage is that one person can do the whole job by themselves. Don't need some one to strap the bike down while you sit on it to keep it upright. I'm going to go with the 130 tire when I change them and hope there'll be a big difference. Steve

Can't resist, can you Yammer? :rotf::rotf:We all still hold out hope for you that someday, you'll come to your senses, understand the folly of your way and move up to a 2nd gen... Have a good one today and be careful where you work. Steve

Was on a week-end ride thru Eastern Ky 3 years ago and it rained buckets. We got mud all over the bikes. While looking for a car wask, a Ky rider said that all they use there was "Scrubbing Bubbles" bathroom cleaner to wash the bike, then "Pledge" to detail it. Been using it ever since. Even cleans the grime out from between the fins on the jugs. Won't hurt you bikes finish either. Spray it on, leave it for about 2 minutes, spray it off. Clean as a whistle!! Steve

My condolences to you and his family. Steve

To work: Upper 20's. Pleasure trips with my navigator, my wife: Mid 40's and up. Like Don, I don't like riding in the salt spray or in cinders. Like to wait till the rain washes the road some. I don't ride with snow on the roads. We seem to ride a lot in rain, (too much in my humble opinion) but have seldom started off in the rain. It usually happens while we're on the road ... lol ...

I've been trying to do some winter maintenance. Have to use a keroscene torpedo heater to heat the garage. Do you know how much the cost of keroscene has gone up? It's almost 4 bucks a gallon here. I'm not out there as much this winter as last. Way too expensive for the little I'm getting done. I guess I'll wait till it warms up to do the more lengthy jobs... or till I get my garage insulated. ... oh well..... Between having cabin fever and being severely motorcycle riding depraved, darn it all, I need to ride! Cheers, Steve

Good points and well made Don. I also have e-mailed and written my congressman and Senator on numerous issues, mostly Iraq lately. I feel I have the right as my son is in the process of deploying there. I've even enouraged one Senator here in Indiana to change political parties to better reflect his position on numerous issures. Sometimes I also get upset about these things too. My thanks for keeping this site as non political as possible. I did notice that that thread yesterday was deleted right after I posted my thoughts on the topic. My thanks there too for taking it that thread off. Sorry if I offended anyone, but just couldn't pass up the opportunity so neatly handed to me to respond. Steve

It's a great movie! I laughed till I cryed and then at the end, cryed somemore. Well worth going to. Maybe the 20 something crowd wouldn't get a lot out of it, but I would think that the over 45 crowd would for sure. Bucket List 1. Win a lottery to pay off the bills so I can do everything already on my "UNREALISTIC" bucket list! ... lol ... 2. Be able to convince all the 1st Gen owners to Get a 2nd gen Scoot... .......:rotfl::rotfl:

I remember many years ago, helping a friend rebuild the motor in his 60 something Impala. We had a whole coffee can full of bolts left over. Needed them later as the car ran but smoked like crazy. Neither of us had any idea what we were doing. Just keep the extra parts in a coffee can. You may need them later. :rotf:

I guess what really happened is that WE GREW OLD! I mean what happened to such great music hits by Cheech & Chong, or MeatLoaf's "Paradise by the DashBoard Lights", OMG - Iron Butterfly's "Inagoddaveda", or how about Steppenwolf's "Cocaine"?? Yea, I agree, the music world sure gone to pot since we all grew up! :rotfl: Steve:stirthepot:
