  1. It's not if Harley took it knowing that. I know that Harrley's financing plan is over 10%, as opposed to Yamaha or Honda's at 7%. We were looking at Ultra Classics a couple of weeks ago. That may be one reason it's so high. I'll stick with my venture. Steve
  2. You are right on target there. I talked to several cops there. It was the black bike week where they had so many problems, from torn up rooms, to crime, to loudness, to fights, not paying restaurant bills, and on and on and on. The town counsel had been talking about doing away with Black Bike week because of all the damage and problems but were threatend with law suits. Many shop and restaurant owners had decided that they would save money by shutting down that week and going on vacation. It had gotten that bad. The town decided to deal with it by these ordanaces. Check out pic's on the internet taken from Black Bike week. I'm not what I would call prejudiced, but I am against rude, bad behavior from anyone. Steve
  3. uhh ohh... I can distinctly see that things could turn violent around here. I think I'll wait around with Squidly for awhile to see how things settle out..... Steve
  4. I pull a bunkhouse LX with my 2007 venture. Don't even know it's there unless you're braking and taking off. Have to use a little more throttle taking off and begin braking a lottle earlier. No problems, even in the mountains. i don't have electric brakes and i've had no problems. Also b&f specailties, the makes of the Bunkhouse are having a winter special sale. You can get a brand new on for just a couple 300 dollars more than you posted for a used one. Steve
  5. In Indiana, all this still leaves lot's of room for him to take a plea bargain. Most times these kind of crimes ever see a courtroom. No one wins. Least of all the bad guy. Juries don't like them and they feel terrible for the child. If found guilty, punishments are usually a lot higher than he would get with a plea. Many times they wait till the last possible minute to take the plea. Hang in there, most times things work out ok in the end. Our prayers are with you and your family for strength to get thru all this. Steve
  6. Bever Tail, muskrat and kangaroo. The roo was the best of the strange stuff. Steve
  7. I was looking at Harly stuff at one of the Louisville Dealerships. EVERY official Harley accessory card on the display wall had a sticker on the back that states "MADE IN CHINA". Haven't figured out yet which Harley is "made in America? I think they must just be assembled in the US. Steve
  8. What color is PEON? Steve:bowdown:
  9. I've got a BunkHouse LX. It pulls great! Got to remember to start slowing earlier than normal though. Take off from a stop takes more throttle. Once you're going, it tows great. Steve
  10. Kool .......... more meat to roast! Seriously, Welcome guys. We need someone here to keep these heathens under control!!! Just glad I ain't one of em. Steve
  11. Everyone who's had a problem needs to contact the Federal Consumer Protection Division. They're the ones who can force Metzler to do something. The more complaints, the faster metzler will be forced to do something. Steve
  12. hey, you all who live over that way... Is this still accurate? A section of the Blue Ridge Parkway will be closed all season, this is in addition to the SkyLine Parkway section at the northern most area: Road Closure Near Craggy Gardens Visitor Center February 26, 2008 (Asheville, NC) In an announcement today, Superintendent Phil Francis, said that the concerns are growing for the structural integrity of the road just south of the Craggy Garden Visitors Center (Milepost 364.5). Due to unstable road conditions associated with the retaining wall failure at the steep slope across the road from Craggy Gardens Visitor Center, Parkway officials are implementing an area closure to all traffic, not only vehicles, but bicycle and foot traffic as well. "The road section above the failure has become unstable and is not safe for travel, and we feel it is in the best interest of all Parkway users to close that section to all vehicle and recreational activity." Engineering reports are still coming in, and today an inspection by a Supervisory Park Ranger revealed that the area closest to the slide is particularly unstable. Thus, as of today, there are orange barrels and cones to prohibit hikers, bicyclists or any activity to go into that area. Signs will be posted there as soon as possible. At the present time, the actual roadway is closed because of debris on the road from Bull Gap at Milepost 355 all the way to MP 375, just south of Mount Mitchell State Park. After weather related issues (ice and debris from fallen trees) are removed, and after the Parkway officials receive and review the options for repairing the slide area, a decision will be made regarding road closure for the section from Craggy Gardens just north of the Craggy Gardens Picnic Area access road (MP 364.5) to just south of Mt. Mitchell State Park. It is likely that access to Mt. Mitchell State Park for 2008 will continue to be from the north only. Craggy Gardens Visitor Center will be closed for the 2008 season. From Asheville, barring any weather related closures, a visitor driving north on the Parkway will be able to travel at least as far as the Craggy Gardens Picnic Area, once the area is cleared of debris all the way to MP 367.6. The Craggy Gardens Picnic Area will open on Friday, May 9.
  13. The mayor died this week-end. He was just a good common cur who did his civic duty. Gonna miss the old dog. He had a great handshake, a kind tail wag and a wet kiss. Not many like that around anymore. Cheers, Steve
