  1. it is 5 years now. That is even according to the tv show "The NEW American Thunder" on speed. Now that show for the last like three episodes has been pushing the Ness Victories. He has been riding and touring their shop, visiting Arlen's and Corey's personal cabins, I think they are getting cuts now, lol. But back to the warranty, last I heard at the cycle show in SC this past year it was a limited time they were going to offer it. Now they have just went full force with it and it stands at 5 years, I don't know millage or details. I have riden a few styles, good bikes but I am not going to run out and buy one just because of the warranty. Ride Safe and enjoy it. Robert "thekid":Venture:
  2. What do you register it as? Bike, trike, or trailer? It is def HOME built and something I would never drive, but to each is own.
  3. Guys thanks a lot for all the help and info. I still might take y'all up on on the card tune though one day. I put the bike back to the way it was with the road king pipes that I had on it for 27K miles and it is back running fine. This of course is after I checked everything, spark plugs, tank removal and drain, carbs, fuel pump, and even checked to make sure everything was getting power. After putting everything back together and the RK pipes back on and filling her up with some high tes to give her a "shot" of the good stuff I road her for a hard 35 mile ride and she purrs once again. I was happy. Thanks again everyone.
  4. Thanks to all I will be in contact about something. I have to get it running again. I dont know what is wrong right now. It might be bad gas, fault plugs, or fuel pump. I am going to be pulling the tank and draining it and also draining the carb bowls. Then check the plugs and put new gas in. What is going on is I can get it to run on the choke but then when i push it in it dies. I rode it 10 miles today and then it stoped and would crank again for a few min. then it would with choke out but would die. I let it sit for about 15 - 20 min and then it cranked again and i could ride it back home 10 miles. I did change the exhaust to a free flow open so I am think it makes it run way to rich and fluiding the plugs. I will be changing them back to the road kings i road for like 25K with no problems. I also put the cards hoses and plugs back on and did away with the cross over. What i said above is all i can think of. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know. Thanks everyone.
  5. I sure wish i could make it to Ohio this weekend, but that wont be in the works for me. Y'all have fun this weekend.
  6. Is there anyone in NC that can preform a carbtune/adjustment? I am def wanting to help and learn how to do this but I dont have the tool that is needed. I would like to try to get this done this month or next because I am heading out to Sturgis on the 31 july. It is an 07 midnight and runs good i just think that it needs a tuneup. Is there anything i should look for to even know if it really needs one? Thanks for the help VR family. Robert 'TheKid'
  7. I am planning a trip out to Sturgis this Aug. I have found some hotels that I am looking at staying at on the way out and back. If any of you can help me out on the areas and if they are good to stay at that would help me out a lot. 8. The only problem I see is that particular one that you gave a link to is only for harley. The set up we have is like the 5-pin Goldwing. J&M use to make a handheld and it had an extra wire plus the five plug that you had to tap it into the ptt button wire which allowed you to use the ptt button on the mic instead of the on the handlebar.
  9. I am using them in my tires on the bike and it is the best balance i have ever had on any bike. I can comfortably take my hands of the handle bars and there is no wobble at all. I also have taken the rotor covers off and I know there was a weight on one of them as well and i can not tell any difference in riding. I really like them because they can't fall off and allow the tire to get out of balance, also if you pic up a rock or anything to change the balance they will move to re balance the tire. They can be used over and over as well.
  10. I am not the typical age for a full dressed touring bike either (26). I have thought about putting apes on my 2ng gen as well. I have a few friends that have mini on their HD touring bikes and they look good and ride great. I am concerned that they wont clear the fairing on our ventures though and that you wont be able to find the right length cables and hoses. The height I would like to get would be right above the speakers on the fairing so that your hands are closer to shoulder height. If you do this keep us all informed and make sure there are pictures as well, please. Robert 'TheKid'
  11. That is the yamaha wing with taillight. Do you happen to have more pictures of the flag mounts. I have been putting the idea together for large flags when I do parades. TheKid
  12. I don't have a suggestion, but I think it is a little odd that you have to keep our bikes running or at least turned on to the run position to allow our hazards to work. I didn't know this until my buddy showed me but Suzuki has a really neat feature on their bikes (well at least the C series c50, c90, c109) and that is you can turn the bike to the off position and then turn it a little bit more left past the off position and pull your key out. This function turns on your break lights and you can also turn on your hazards. So if you happen to stop on the side of the road for what ever reason it allows people to see your bike and you can remove the key so you can walk away feeling a little bit at ease. I tried to see if ours had this neat feature but of course it doesn't. Good luck.
  13. you could always look for the show chrome reflectors that have the LEDs in them. I replaced mine with those so they are now side turn signals or you could wire them for running lights. I would send you mine but I don't know what I have done with them now, lol. I misplace things all the time in the garage.

Neither one of those sites posted anything for the 07 midnight venture. I am curious now being that is what I ride. If anyone knows where I can get the bulletins on these please let me know. TheKid
  17. I have seen your sheild at many different bike events and rallies. I really do like it and my father does also. The only thing is that my dad could have bought one already because he is on a wing. I have emailed you a couple of times about the shield for the RSV and got response back saying y'all were working on it. I am glad to see that you have some prototypes out for use riders to try. I would agree have a vent would be nice I like the round vents much better than the wing vent. Thanks for working on this for us RSV riders. I look forward to see the shield and how it works out for us.
  18. I have a 2007 rsmv. At first I put on some stock slash cut road king pipes and cut out both quarter sized chamber plates. It ran good and had a good sound when getting on the throttle. I wanted a little something louder so I got some straight pipes that were off a true dual road king. It still runs ok but I can def smell a def in the exhaust. I was wondering if I should get the carbs adjusted. when in fifth it does get a little sluggish when getting on it. Thanks for all the help. Also is there a way to do this at home or is it just better to get the stealership to do it?
  19. US 421 out side of boone NC and could carry you all the way into Bristol, TN
  20. Are you talking about for the Asheville get together in Aug or just to ride? I am up for riding most of the time depending on work of course. Let me know and RIDE SAFE

  21. Thanks. lookin forward to seeing it. Did you put the 9" or the 7" on?
  22. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of a Venture with the Cee Bailey 7" Shield on it. I am looking to go SHORT for this summer because it got REALLY hot last summer riding behind "the movie screen" stock windshield. I am look at either going with the 7 or the 9 but wanted to see what it looked like on the scoot. I mean you see all the HD with the short shields and they look good. Since our scoots are better looking anyway I have a feeling the short shield will make it look even better. Thanks for the help y'all. RIDE SAFE TheKid
  23. I have actually thought of that exact idea. I think some R&D would be worth it. Also thought of the idea of adding the air vents that HD has for their lowers, the ones that are in the lowers that you can open and close (like the air conditioning vents in a car) to let air through. It sure does get hot around your feet during these 98+ degree days we are having down here in NC this past week or so. Good luck and I hope you find a good way to make this happen. TheKid
  24. You could alway go to walmart and get the chair leg protectors. The ones that you put on the bottom of the leg so it doesnt scratch the wood floors. Cover the bolts with those and that will solve the problems also.
