  1. I will be down with a group of people. I have been going to Bike Week and Biketoberfest since like 02. Great Bands, AWESOME people watching, and pretty nice trailer queens to look at. Traffic does get pretty thick sometime but I have never waited 20 min to get into Destination Daytona or the Speedway. I will be down sometime thursday, depending on when I leave. Everyone enjoy and Ride Safe, there is a lot of "bikers" that only trailer to rallies and ride around so they aren't that experienced and are sometimes dangerous.
  2. really hope things get better Tom. Best of luck with the surgery. Call the bank you have your mtg through and talk to them about what has happened. Most will try to work with you specially since we are still in the housing drought and many are foreclosing. Banks don't want to own houses so they are willing to work with poeple, specially ones that are willing to work with the banks and have had life changing events happen. Best of Luck.
  3. I have the Corbin and I totally love it. I have to total package with driver backrest and matching passenger backrest. It placed you lower and it is more narrow in the driver and passenger leg room. I also like it because it is totally customizable with the different leathers and piping. If you catch them at a rally you can get it at a discounted price as well.
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am glad to know you are home and that you will def recover fully. Take care and GOD BLESS
  5. I have to say this site is AWESOME and the people in the VR Family are even more AWESOME. A big thanks to all the VR Family for being there and another HUGE THANK YOU for the ones that have made it to the hospital. I am so glad to see there is love, kindness, and helping hands still out there. I LOVE the VR site and people. Tom, I am so glad to read updates on your recovery. I am glad you are ok and that it wasn't any worse. Really sorry I couldn't make it down, I really wanted too but things go real busy up here as well. Please keep us all up to date on all the up coming action and recovery. God Bless.
  6. I agree with everyone else. THANK YOU!! I look forward to 2013 hopefully. St. Jude's and the kids deserve every penny raised. Good job VR Family lets keep it going.
  7. I dont recall the dealership. I found them on ebay but then I called the dealership directly. so i could buy all the parts in one purchase and got free shipping. I know that the parts are on in star website. This dealer got them through a purchase of another dealer and was just trying to get ride of old stock. Sorry I am not that much more help.
  8. Bubber, I just did this also. I went with all new RSTD stock length cables and hoses. I found a great deal on new yamaha SS ones on ebay from a dealer in SC that were for a RSTD. I lengthened the wires for the radio and curise control as well since I am also still using the baron riser spacers. I have to say I def like the wider bars and the pull back.
  9. If my memory service me correctly this is a few pictures of TuffTom this past weekend. I do remember he was bald and wore glasses, but then I believe at least 75% of our VR male family fits that description, LOL. If I am wrong my apologies and please correct me. I am just trying to get a face with the name for everyone.
  10. Tom is def in my prayers. I just met him in vogel this past weekend, what a great guy. I sure hope for a 100% recovery.
  11. We made it home about 2:45. No rain on the way home. Had a blast. Ready to do another event.
  12. Ok I will give you my younger view. Had owned and rode crotch rockets and cruisers. Was currently on a Honda Magna (V-4). I was in Daytona and my best friend was riding with me. She said the back seat wasn't comfortable on the magna, I didn’t know because I never rode back there, LMAO. I had been looking at going bigger because of my style of riding was longer distances and long days. Went to speedway and test drove all the touring bikes (HD, Venture, GW). I knew I was too young to get a GW and she said the back seat was just OK. I liked the HD street glide with removable tour pack but again she didn’t care for back seat. Then rode the venture and she said it had the most room for passenger. So I stood back and looked it over and also went back to the HD to look over. Main reason for getting venture was, had all bless n whistles (AM/FM radio, Cassette (didn’t really care), Aux plug (totally like because I have my GPS hooked in. Plays MP3 and I can hear directions), CB Radio, trunk, n bags) also got the luggage rack, highway pegs, and driving lights/spot lights all for a good 8k+ LESS than an HD. Also the 5 year unlimited millage warranty. HD I would have had to pay extra to even get 3 years. I have to say I love my venture and I will probably only get another touring bike when Yamaha decides to update this one. If not I will get one when this falls apart and I cannot fix it.
  13. I have pulled my cargo trailer through the dragon and the snake and many other curvy twistie switch back but this will be a first for my aspen classic camper. I am looking forward to it and a lil scared i will be honest. this trip will be much slower than normal because of the extra weight behind me but i can do it and make it. Thanks everyone.
  14. you can always bring a heated blanket and heater. I will probably have both the a/c and the heated stuff. Keeps us and the dog cool during the day and warm at night.
  15. Thanks. I have been up in that area many times but never pulled the camper through there. It will def be a slow trip through the hills.
  16. I will probably be coming in from charlotte NC on friday afternoon/evening, all depending things line up right. I know there are quite a few ppl that have camp sites that are willing to share/split so that is the plan. I am pulling my aspen classic and was wondering what roads to avoid. the route I have right now is to take 129/11 out of cleveland to 19 into vogel. I know 19 has some good curves and such but pulling the aspen I am not really looking for all that much because of safety. I did not know if taking a different route might be slight less switch backs and safer. Pls if anyone has info on this let me know. I hope to see old and make new friends.
  17. Sounds good I should be there friday evening unless something happens. It also sound like there will be space if others decide to join in also. Thanks so much. I look forward to meeting you and everyone else.
  18. I will be down on the 19th sometime and will be there till sunday. if you want to split at least two nights. If there is someone else there the whole time that wants to split the site i understand. just let me know.
  19. any one have space to share? or is there someone that hasn't booked yet either and would like to share?
  20. I am riding down Friday Aug 19 afternoon/evening depending on work and am looking to see if anyone has a camp site that they would like to share/split. I have an aspen classic and normally all state parks I have been in allow us to put two tent trailers or two tents on one site. If anyone has a site to share please let me know before I try to book a site next week. Thanks looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones.
  21. I have 18" apes on a vulcan 800 bobber I put together and love them just at shoulders. I also looked at putting apes on the venture for some time. I have not found any that will fit using stock risers because all bagger bars are made for HD and the risers are spaced different. I actually last year took my bars off while sitting in JP Cycle parking lot during bike week and tried many different bars. I finally ended up going with stock RSTD bars for the pull back and little rise. Much more comfortable ride now. Good luck on the apes I would like to see it if you do find some.
  22. My girlfriend and I (oh n the RAT, dog) are planning on riding down Friday afternoon once she gets off work. I am pulling my aspen classic and was wondering if any one wanted to split a site. PM me and we can talk details.
  23. Can we also buy at Vogel?
  24. I am thinking of riding down Friday after work with my sweetie and our lil one (dog). We would also be camping and looking to maybe share a site with someone. I pull an aspen classic and i know in most parks we are allowed to set up two on one site or one and a tent. This will all depend on weather for us and the funds as well. I know the park hours are until 10pm so we def should be able to make it before they close. If there will be available spots I will def split the cost. I hope I can make this and meet many VRs in person again and new ones as well.
  25. Thanks so much on all the info for some good loops. I will look into them and map them out so i have them in the gps. Thanks and ride safe.
