  1. I have a set of RK slash cut (the ones that flow with the lines of the bags). They sounds good and I get a lot of complements on them. One day I would like to get a louder set I think (as long as i can still hear my radio, LOL) TheKid
  2. Beer30, I was just a spectator. I go up there a lot and def like the event. I have friends that ride the parade and escort gold star mothers/wives. I saw you drive by but then I couldn’t find your scoot after but then again I didn’t go up to the capital. One day I shall meet you and the other fine folks here. I am also thinking of the custom leather we talked about just need to get the extra cash and time so I can make it down and work on it with the guidance of a professional. Ride Safe and keep the miles of smiles rolling up. TheKid
  3. I was up at another great rolling thunder this year. I saw many RSV and TD in the parade this year. I also saw the one and only 'Beer30' pulling the BeerCart. I wish I could have found him after but I couldn't. I even walked over to the ball fields where they were having everyone park. Well it was another great time and I hope to be able to make the Asheville gathering to finally meet some of the great folks here at Venturerider. Everyone Ride SAFE. theKid
  4. How do we get in contact with Allen and do you remember how much they run? Thanks for the help. TheKid
  5. If this is normal then it must be a safety thing since wearing headsets while diriving is illegal in most states. I just use the speakers for everything and basiclly just use the mic on the headset. Good luck finding and solving this issue. TheKid
  6. Don't forget that Savannah is one of the most Haunted Cities in the US. So take some tours and enjoy. Also while there you got to get at Uncle Bubba's (Paula Dean's uncle) and Lady & Sons (Paula Dean's). Have fun it is a nice area. TheKid
  7. I sure wish I had a $2000 budget to spend, LOL. I would say go for safety. Get the Custom Dynamics taillight LED board and maybe a back off modulator that makes the brake flash, because stock isn't bright enough. you also might want to convert the turns signals to LED also Custom Dynamics. Then exhaust if you still have stock, could go with bubs, baron, or RK mod. May want to look into the D3K and also K&N, but you may have to rejet. Then get all the extra safety chrome add ons. Have fun spending the money, it goes fast thought. TheKid
  8. If you can get some pictures that would be great. ARe yours the slashcut RKs?
  9. Baffles? With the stock R/K slashcut muffler there are two little half dollar size plates that section off a single baffle really. A lot of use are drilling out those little plates to make it a straigh through shot. BUT the Baffle its self though I have never seen anyone remove it. It isn't like alot of aftermarket pipes were there baffle is held in with a screw these are welded in. If someone has removed them please post pictures and how. Thanks everyone
  10. Guys and Gals, I def missed out on a great time and sounds like great ribs. I should have showed up and then there could have been 3 done, LOL. I have one question though, Should I wait until I stop getting a shop to do my scheduled check ups? I have two more which will put me to the 20K mark, actually I really need to get up there and get the 16k done and a new front tire probably soon. Then I have to start paying for it LOL. Sorry I missed out. Beer30 ~ Are you busy today if not when would be a good time to call. Being it is easter and all I don't want to bother you when you are with the family and such. Thanks for the invite and I hope to make one of these get togethers soon. TheKid
  11. This sounds like a great thing to do to a second gen. Do you all also have the K&N Air filters on? Because that would change alot to being it allows more air in. So wouldn't you want to add those before you colortune? Just a question. Bye the way Saturday is the 22nd. I need to get out and met some of you venture riders that live here in NC because all of y'all have some talent that I wish I had. Good luck on your operation this weekend I hope all goes well and a speedy recovery.
  12. The one for the older Hardleys I mean Harleys is a 5 pin connector. That might work, I dont know. I talked to a guy at they trailer down in Daytona and he flat out told me no but if your "MickO" find out they work let me know please.
  13. Good luck with the search. I have been looking also for this setup. There is one out there somewhere for the GL1500 that would most likely work but they are not made anymore. J&M still makes the one for HD and so does HD make them. Our problem is that our bikes run a 5 pin set up and all the other GL1800 and HD use a 8 pin. I have even asked a CB shop if they would make me one and he said he wouldn't even try to make one. If I find a few older GL1500 mics I will let you know. I am looking one for my dad and myself but no luck so far.
  14. Yea I am sure there will be. I know I will be there from tuesday - sunday. Staying with my SCRC Family in their yard. There is suppose to be around 80 or more people there. I know that a few of us ride ventures at least. TheKid
  15. That is crap. Just by reading I dont know why he would follow them if he cut them off. It is usually the other way around we get cut off. I have seen a motorcyclist pull a gun on a RV that cut him off, but he never shot just showed. But yes that is why road rage never pays off, just let it go. Ride Safe y'all, don't follow any cars with young women in then unless you know them.
  16. I was wondering if anyone has a set of right side guards off a RSV. I am looking for the engine and saddle bag quards. Maybe off a wrecked RSV that went down on its left side. I have a 07 MRSV so this would be the 2nd gen gaurds. Thanks for the help guys and girls. TheKid
  17. Thanks, I didn't know. I haven't had any problems running the bike in the past but I have just added the GPS and I want to add the heated gloves, so I wanted to make sure. Again thanks.
  18. Ok I have searched this and read many threads about our issue. I know our system def needs to get an upgrade but there has been some head aches getting a new stator made. So, Is there anyone that is running a trailer with all LEDS, a Garmin streetpilot 2720, XM radio, CB radio, yam passing lamps, yam tail wing with led, all stock bulbs in other lights, and heated gloves (firstgear, warm & safe)? I would most likely turn off the passing lamps during the day but at night def will be running them. If there is, have you had any problems running highways? Thanks for the help everyone. I def love this forum always full of great info. TheKid
  19. Yeah, I am more looking for the plugs so I can make a plug-in play type trailer wiring. Like what you can buy for cars/trucks that you just plug in Ys between your lights and go. Thanks for the advise, I did know if 'stealerships' would have this plugs that fit perfect. I am sure they probably can order it but I wanted to work on it now LOL. I will just have to start riding around to local auto part stores and ask. Thanks again.
  20. Nothing is wrong, just want to rewire my trailer harness. So i am wainting to add wire plugs, that is all. Thanks for the reply.
  21. http://www.venturerider.org/spoiler/image027.jpg Does anyone know where I could get another set (male, female) of these plugs?
  22. That is most likely your problem. Toshiba unless you got the upgraded video card uses the local ram also for the video. So you would def have to up grade your ram. There is most likely two ram ports on the bottom of the comupter; if Toshiba didnt take them up with 1 gb card each to make the 2 gb. if that is the case go out and buy a 2 gb card and replace one of them so then you will have 3gb and that should be good. Vista is def a RAM hog and a lot of people are complaining about it. I remember when ME and XP first came out and they were both Ram hogs also. It takes time for them to get all the bugs out. Wait till Vista SP2 comes out then hopefully they will have it figured out LOL. Good luck with your gaming. TheKid
  23. If the headset you are talking about is the IMC, I would say don't worry with it. I have two and my father has one. All of them have problems. The speakers quite working, so my dad decided to cut the speakers to just use the mic and that didn't work. We are thinking that all of them ground through each other. I am also looking just a mic. I have looked at the handheld for the gold wing thinking it would work being that the older ones have the same plug. For now i just put the head set on and dont worry that the speakers don't work and use the mic. If anyone has a solution that would be great. I also want to keep my shorty helmet and not switch to 3/4 for just a mic to use my CB.
  24. I live in Charlotte and like it pretty well. I don't know of the area in SC you are talking about though.
  25. Yes I sorda agree with you. But I don't think that stand alone mp3 are going away for a little while longer. Yes they will for the older crowds that care phones but not for the younger crowd like kids. Even though the age for carring a cell phone is getting younger and younger. So to your question are mp3 stand-alones going away, yes they will be going away soon probably.
