  1. I will be out there again...a total of 3 venture in my group but many more bikes as well. 13 bikes in my group plus another 7, I think will be joining us out there as well. We will have a mixture of Victory, Can-am, Harley, Kawasaki, Honda, and Yamaha.
  2. I tightened the hose clamps and the drain plug and so far no leaks. It has only been about 14 hours though so i will check again when i get off work. Hopefully that has fixed it.
  3. I think I have found the leak. I haven't had time to tare down the bike but visually inspecting it, it is come from under the tank. It is dripping down onto the fan then the radiator. I saw it all over the air box hose that connects the two air cleaners. I will hopefully be able to tear into it tonight.
  4. Sorda..... http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/26/f39077ce9479ace70e4ca84e00a92fd4.jpg I didn't get a real good look as I took it apart fast and snapped a pic. I will look closer today.
  5. I also have a radiator leak. I haven't pin pointed mine yet but it looks about the same runs from top to bottom. At first I thought it was the plastic drain bolt at bottom but once removing the lowers and radiator cover it is running down the fins to the bottom. I hope to get time in the next couple days to analyze the issue more and fix.
  6. Tomorrow is my only option as well.
  7. What is the address of the gas station? I found one on Google map off 421 that has a subway attached, is that the one?
  8. Do you have an address to the Shell Station?
  9. Bluesky, we may meet hall at the shell as well. There will be 2 bikes. If not will see everyone at lunch spot.
  10. I have been riding this weekend and I really like them. They are sturdy and control great. The hand are right below my shoulders and helps me relax my elbows. I believe they will put a bigger smile on my face and many more miles looking to break 100k next year. Everyone ride safe.
  11. These are the measurements I just took. 21" from lowest point in drivers seat to line straight across grips 12" from middle of tank (where my tank bib bag hooks) to line straight across grips 38" wide from end weight to end weight 36" wide without end weights 15" from radio door to to line straight across grips I am really looking forward to this new riding stance.
  12. You are right the knurls on HD bars aren't as wide as the metric bars. But you can add more if you like. Majority of the knurls are under the riser clamps. I have tighten them to spec and they do not move. I have shaken them, turned the bars lock to lock, and no movement. Now I am sure if you slam into something or get hit holding on tight they would move just like any other bars. Here is a picture for you.
  13. I am taking it out tomorrow to ride. I am sure it will be different of course but should handle fine. I have owned and ridden many bikes with apes. I will report back. It takes some getting use to at slow speeds because it is a wider turn now for the hands. They aren't as high as some may think my hands are right below my shoulders.
  14. So I have posted a few times in years past of wanting to put ape hangers on my 2nd gen venture. I have owned bikes with apes before and always liked the feel and look. Well time finally came around...I found a shop that had a few different styles and makes of bagger apes. I tried a few different ones. I wanted to go with the Fat Apes but the 1.25" diameter reduced to 1" in middle for risers did not work. The width of the reduction was just a smidgen to small. Results are that any 1" diameter bar will fit. I went with the 12" Paul Yaffe Classic Bagger Apes. I already had the 1.5" riser extension so I left them as well. If he would have had the 14" I may would have gone that route, but glad I didn't because then the radio control wouldn't have fit I had already switch all my hoses and cables to SS from the Tour Deluxe back a while when I went to the TD bars. The throttle cables and clutch hose were long enough to keep. I had to go to a 24" SS upper front brake hose though. You will also have to extend all the wires for the switch housings. The radio controller fits but you have to go inside the fairing and reroute the cable to make it stretch enough. Put new ISO grips and DONE. Now it is time to put many many miles on these bars.
  15. By the way i have a cool looking bike and i ride year round and put good miles on it. I just want to customize mine a little to make it stand out even more. Believe me, my venture gets many looks over the HDs out running the roads.
  16. I have not seen a 21" on the venture but i have seen the roadliner or stratoliner front wheel on a venture which i think is a 19". I would also like to change the front wheel to a little larger but not the SUPER BIG wheels like 26" or 30".
  17. My dad put this in his RSV. He hasn't road in dark but I went riding with him this past weekend and during the day wow it is bright. I think it may be brighter than my HID.
  18. We saw these Saturday and Dad thought about getting one. It looks like good quality but I know there HID kits they had sucked. Good thing is Cycle Gear has 100% Customer satisfaction and will give you store create if returned. Let us all know how this works out.
  19. Very sad....I wont be making this one I know it will be another fun event though I will look for the 2016 dates LMAO!!!
  20. This may be a miss for some that are doing the 75th sturgis rally too depending on dates. If it is at the very end of July or send week of Aug then you may catch some going or coming. I know I am going to Sturgis so I will pay attention to dates.
  21. I found a custom handlebar manufacturer here in nc willing to see if any of their current bagger bars will fit. He said if they don't he is always looking new brands n bikes to make bars for and will take measurements and make some. I am riding a venture so it has to have the bend to clear the fairing. Maybe I can make it by his new shop this weekend. I will keep everyone posted
  22. I have been wanting to get some bars made for the venture to be more of a mini ape. Just need to find someone with pipe n welding around here.
  23. Thanks for the info on the rubber pads. Does anyone have or know where to get a set of the bullet chrome replacement boards?
