He is looking to get a replacement one. Or if anyone has a set of the billet boards they are wanting to sell please let me know. thanks for the help everyone.

  4. I run a kumho power star on my darkside venture with no problems. This is the second one and got 25000+ on the last one. this one has maybe 8000 on it now.
  5. A friend of mine has an URAL. She had to replace the battery. She said it took two people to get it out. "we had to take the seat off and go through the side and push it and pull it up and so on I need help getting the battery back in I can't do it ... it took two people" Is there a easier way to put a battery in? She is located in Farwell, Michigan if anyone is near by and would like to help. I can give you her name and number. thanks for the advice.
  6. Come on Joe get in it. We are booked at the camp ground. There is at least 3 of us riding over from eastern nc. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  7. I have two trailers. One is a modified harbor freight cut down narrow to fit a tool box that would go in the back of a pick-up truck. I also have a apsen classic campers. Both pull great just need a little extra room for stopping when pulling both but even more for the camper. Pull safe and remember to check ALL the lights and tires.
  8. This is good news to me as I need to replace mine. Can anyone help: I have a slight antifreeze leak come from behind me cylinder covers (the ones that can be unbolted and diamond cut). i thought i read A LONG time ago about a fix for that. Does anyone know?
  9. I am needing to do this on my 07. The rear gaskets is starting to leak a little bit and has over 85K miles. I think it was done once when i had the service plan with the dealer but i cant for sure verify. Any one have the shims, tools i can barrow? Of course will replace shims. Anyone in the Charlotte NC area know how to do this? This will be my first attempt. I have the great write up that was done with pictures but of course experience near helps too. Thanks, everyone ride safe if you can get your scoots out, I know some of our northern members wont be unless they trailer them south.
  10. I probably need to do mine. I know the head gaskets leak a little so plan to do that this winter. Is it worth doing it all at one time? I probably need some help as this will be the first time I would be tearing to engine apart by myself. I would have to ride down to you though to get your expertise. Maybe i should get on the kit list to be able to use it, lol. Thanks VR family
  11. I guess the biggest question is. Does Mrs. Wagner still have all the molds, etc and is she still willing to sell and how much. It could be a fun side hobby but a tough one for sure, specifically finding all the different paint codes and buying the paint to match. Going with either a primer or black would be the easiest. I am glad I have one on my ride for sure.
  12. If i go it will be the last weekend of the event. probably come down Thursday night.
  13. We aren't a 3 gen, i have no kids and my nephew is only 4. BUT we are a 2 gen family. I have an 07 Midnight and Dad has aa 07 raven blue trike. I think he bought it because he knows i will work on it, lol
  14. You don't have to keep the stock end weights if you don't want to. It may cause some vibration in the handlebars if removed or may not. I know Kuryakin and Baron have bolt on end weights now for the iso grips. I don't know anything about arlen's grips.
  15. Bought my 07 RSMV in March of 07 after Daytona bike week. I test road all touring models while down there with my best female friend from high school. She helped give a back seat opinion. I road the HD, Goldwing, and Yamaha, only full dressed touring at the time. I didn't care for the seating and feet position on the Goldwing and she said I was to young for them. The HD and Venture had about the same seating position for me but she liked the venture because of the extra room on the back seat. I also liked the RSV over the HD because it save me So I have had the venture now 6 years 7 months. 80K+ miles and much more spent to personalize it to the 'Black Label Venture'
  16. I own a 2012 Sorento and a 2012 Optima. My wife uses the Sorento for work and puts about 350+ miles a week on it. The optima is more our weekend car and my car when i go into the office or on trips. I bought both because of the options that were standard and the reliability. Oh yea my mother also went out and bought a 2013 Sorento after driving ours. I have had not issues with either. Standard maintenance to keep the warranty alive and drive them.
  17. yes the rotella is diesel oil. Use T6 the blue jug. as for filters walmart no longer carries supertech. you can use a purolator pl14612 or ml16819
  18. My dad's 07 hannigan gets fishy when it rains any amount. The rear end feels like it is hydroplaning and he can not go over 50 mph. He has BF tires on the rear with 28 psi and a Commander II on the front. The rear shocks are set i believe at the second or third setting and the front have 3 psi. I upgraded his brakes to the new ones with the different rotors and calibers. Has anyone else experienced this and how did it get fixed? Thank you all for your help. Hope the ones going to IL have fun and ride safe.
  19. I agree with baggershield. I have had mine since the developed the shield for the venture. I love it. I also helped with the measurement for the taller and wider one that they have now. it was measured from the wider show chrome shield that i had on at the time. You will def like the ability to adjust for different riding conditions.
  20. Steve, I have had the pleasure meeting you a couple times and you are a great man. Hopefully we will meet at Vogel again if i can make it. As you can tell and already knew this family here is with you through these trialing times. Prayers are flying for you and your loved ones. You will get this taken care of. My Aunt was told she had bone cancer a few months back and we found out friday before memorial day that she got a clean bill of health and no sign after the treatments. Good luck my venture brother and God can heal!
  21. I was also up there. I was out and about saturday downtown. I was parked in the field behind the little safe/gift shop between Lincoln and thunder alley. I haven't riden in the parade for years now. I will do it again sometime i guess, lol. It was a great weekend up there for us. Hope everyone else enjoyed it.
  22. Jeff, Thank you so much! I will let dad know. I def believe we can do the work (or I can with dad supervising LOL).
  23. I just called Jim Gooch (SP) myself at HMS the other day and left a message. My dad is wanting to get a reverse retro kit also. Did he say how much it would be to get it installed by them? I am looking forward to seeing pictures throughout the process so that maybe dad and myself can just install it. I through that there was a bracket that is welded on the new kits that is missing from the old for the little motor? This is a no weld install? I am VERY interested in this. Thanks, for being the genie pig for all the rest of the retro HMS trikers.
  24. I was the first person to own a baggershield for the venture. We were in Myrtle Beach when they came out with it and had the only FINISHED 8.5". I had the show chrome shield on the bike at the time. My old shield is the one they actually measured to make the 10.5" wide shield. My bike is the picture that Cruiser Customizing has on their site. I have ridden with their short shield for over 30K miles in all types of conditions. I have to say I LOVE my shield. I like being able to switch it around for many different reasons. There isn't any head bobble and the wife gets enough wind as well without any head buffering. If looking a shield that you NEVER have to change again between seasons, Bagger Shield is def the one. Buy directly through them because they have better pricing and are a pleasure to work with.
  25. Do you already have the Yamaha light bar with lights? I really like CD and know David the owner personally. He is a great guy and def will get you your answers. If you have less money or want to save money you could always go the route others have with LED spot lights. Northern Tools has these (http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200407598_200407598) they fit in the buckets very well. All you have to do is take them out of the rubber housing they are in, cut the wires and hook them up to the inside wires in the buckets on the bike. Good luck!
