  1. If the headset you are talking about is the IMC, I would say don't worry with it. I have two and my father has one. All of them have problems. The speakers quite working, so my dad decided to cut the speakers to just use the mic and that didn't work. We are thinking that all of them ground through each other. I am also looking just a mic. I have looked at the handheld for the gold wing thinking it would work being that the older ones have the same plug. For now i just put the head set on and dont worry that the speakers don't work and use the mic. If anyone has a solution that would be great. I also want to keep my shorty helmet and not switch to 3/4 for just a mic to use my CB.
  2. I live in Charlotte and like it pretty well. I don't know of the area in SC you are talking about though.
  3. Yes I sorda agree with you. But I don't think that stand alone mp3 are going away for a little while longer. Yes they will for the older crowds that care phones but not for the younger crowd like kids. Even though the age for carring a cell phone is getting younger and younger. So to your question are mp3 stand-alones going away, yes they will be going away soon probably.
  4. Well this is how it happened for me. I am 25 now, I bought my first bike when I was 18 (of course a rocket). I told my dad and he said "You are going to kill yourself and I am not going to have. If you buy that bike you will no longer be my son and I will not help you out any more." Luckly I just bought the bike and didn't put that many miles on it only the ride home. So I took it back to the dealer and they took it back. I let it die down a bit then I went to buy another (Rocket). Told him and again he said the same thing, well this time he was out of town and with one of my uncles and grandpa. He made me talk to my uncle (harley rider since he was 18) and grandpa. Both said I shouldn't do it and that I would kill myself, so I didnt go through with it. Let it die back down for a while. Age 19 or 20 I was down at my parents, dad and I went down to a local Harley dealer. They had a awesome, great shape, and low milage Honda Magan on the lot in front of the building. I told my dad I liked it and wanted to know how much they wanted. He said NO. Well I talked him into it and finally he said "You take the safety course and you pay for it. I am not helping you at all." So I talked to the salesman and we sat down and did the paper work and I finaced it alone. That day went down to the community college and signed up for the safety course. So I have been riding ever since. I have since then taken the course again with a friend. I agree ANYONE no matter what age should take the course at least once no matter how long you have been riding. It is great and you will learn something promise. Now I own a new 07 Midnight I have had it since mid to late april and have approx 13k on her. ~Everyone RIDE SAFE and GOD BLESS!
  5. Has anyone bought anything from this company off ebay. They have the new show chrome windshields for $79.95. Just wondering what if anyone has any feed back on them. Also does any one have the saddle bag liners from the guy that sells on ebay?
  6. Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. The only other way would be to use the 12V plug that has the built in speaker then you probably wouldn't hear it over all the other nosies riding down the road.
  7. I am looking into getting a GPS sometime here in the near future. I just want to clear up somethings so I am understanding everything correctly. If you hook up the GPS to the Aux so you can hear the directions then you are not listening to the radio anymore, right? So actaully if you want your cake and eat it too, you really need to get a GPS that has either MP3 and/or XM so you can hear the directions and the music?
  8. I agree it would be a PITA. I was looking at a few HD Ultras and their lowers on the fairing are hinged. That is def what Yamaha should have done. I have been looking at how we could make ours hinged to direct the airflow better. Also wish that the lower fairings could be removed for summer riding like the HD Ultras.
  9. I do have to say I have been riding my bike most def. I have had all the services done at the stealership i bought it from because they basiclly gave me the service plan. I got my scoot back in late april and i have 12K+ on it. There is the whine already but i try not to pay it any mind when riding, I really notice it at slow speeds. The breaks squeek too, but I found it is the the cheap pads Yamaha puts on so if I change them it would stop. I have already but a new rear tire on at 8K. Other than those issues I haven't found anything else wrong with it other than the speakers could be a little bit better. What else should I look for?
  10. I just received one today also. I bought a 07 midnight.
  11. To anyone that is using this converter, Does this work well and do the four-ways, self cancelling still work? I have used it on my other bike but it didn't have four-ways or self cancelling. Thanks for the help.
