I failed a Health and Safety course at work today. One of the questions was: "In the event of a fire, what steps would you take?" "Friggin big ones" was apparently the wrong answer.

OK Got another question, My bike seems to have a viberation of sort under throttle. When just cruising it is smooth but when you accelerate it has that old Harley feel. I don't know how else to explain it other than it isn't smooth. I changed the plugs and put in new air filter over the winter and other than that nothing has been done. It runs smooth when it idles and if you rev it up in nuetral it doesn't miss. I was wondering if maybe you guys think it could be one of the diaphrams or maybe something else. Also mileage has dropped from 41 to about 35 mpg but also remember I more than likely ran it harder trying to figure out what the heck is wrong. Open for suggestionsps, I have never changed the fuel filter. What does one run like when it needs carbs synced? 2000 RSV MM Edition, I bought it in july of 2010 with 18,000 miles on it and I now have 39,000 so I assume it must have set a bunch

I have one of the Venture Rider belt buckles and have been asked who made them. Can't remember who was taking those orders but since it's been a while, as well as before the last sites crash I think, I can't find a reference for them. I'm pretty sure it was someone in Texas but could be wrong there. Time for another group buy? Info anyone? Larry

Hey, any tire pros, A Harley friend (Heritage) has asked me a question. I'm guessing she has HD Dunlop 404. She rides local and even did SC to CA last year, so she rides! Your input might help her. I've had so many problems with my front tire. Riding back and forth to work I heard a lot of road noise. New tire, this must be usual! After looking at the tire I noticed the rotation was going the wrong way. So now I need to know whether I should leave the tire as it is or do I have SOMEONE fix the issue. My main question is will the tire seperate like a car tire if you rotate it wrong? This is my front tire and I'm a bit WORRIED. I don't want to be going 80 mph and have a blow out. Thanks EVERYONE. Deb Thanks in advance, Mike G in SC

When hanging an American Flag horizontal what is the proper manner for it to hang? I just started a new job and this is the first thing I notice when I walk in. The stars are on the south side of the flag, just looks wrong to me. Also the Iowa Flag is on the south side so if they were to be turned so they are hanging like on a pole then either the Iowa flag or the American flag will be upside down, yes they face opposite directions. Now the Manager is willing to change but I have to show some proof that they are hanging wrong. I can get a picture when I go in tomorrow. Thank You, Shaun

I did the stator and starter clutch on my 89. I had a moment as they say, I didn't appreciate the difficulty posed by the re installation of the shifter linkage. I convinced myself that I had it right a couple of times. I was wrong. If anyone can grab a few photos from a few different angles, it would be a big help. I appreciate the help. Thanks to you all.

Ear Infection... This is so true! They always ask at the doctor's reception why you are there, and you have to answer in front of others what's wrong and sometimes it is embarrassing. There's nothing worse than a Doctor's Receptionist who insists you tell her what is wrong with you, in a room full of other patients. I know most of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it. A 75-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk. The Receptionist said, 'Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?' 'There's something wrong with my Penis, he replied. The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that.' 'Why not, you asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said. The Receptionist replied; 'Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private.' The man replied, 'You shouldn't ask people questions in a roomful of strangers if the answer could embarrass anyone.' The man walked out, waited several minutes, and then re-entered. The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, 'Yes?' 'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated. The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. 'And what is wrong with your ear, Sir?' 'I can't pee of it,' he replied. The waiting room erupted in laughter. Mess with seniors and you're going to lose!

I went to the website and saved my picture of the states that I've rode. Then went to userCP and added it to my signature. It shows the map uploaded and I see the pic in "your current signature picture" but the map isn't showing in my signatures when I post...Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

We have one of those thin paper hooks were if more than 1 foot of paper hangs below the roll it starts to unspool on the floor. The other day I came up with a brainstorm. Before mounting the roll I slightly flatten the roll so the center is egg shaped thus stopping it from turning, except when pulling off some paper. Now my wife say's that thats just wrong, no reason, just wrong, so she will reform the roll and next thing there is a pile of paper on the floor. Can someone explain to me why my idea could possibly be wrong when it saves paper from being wasted.

I ride my bike every week (2004 RSV); in the last couple of months my battery has lost juice and won't crank. As we speak I have it on low charge. Advance has checked the battery and says it just needs charging and nothing is wrong with the battery itself. The battery is two plus years old. Any ideas out there. When I crank up today I will have jumper cables with me but that ain't the solution.

It is still dark so I am going to try and get a few hours sleep then make my try at getting the bike back home. Thanks in advance. oh yeah the warning and neutral lights are still working. Ken

bald josh posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I ordered a wire harness for my 86, the ad on ebay was for xvz12/13 so i assumed the harness would be interchangable, its not! the guy i bought from has been INCREDIBLY helpful and will refund my $ + shipping, but he says his parts fiche shows the same for mkI and II.are they the same? a few harness connectors like the coils, pick up coils, tail light, match up but alot of stuff does not. he says he has a few harnesses and they all look the same but as soon as i took it out of the box i knew some things were wrong. any thoughts? and does anyone have a harness they want to sell. im looking for one in good condition and that will just plug and play, royale or standard is fine. -
