  1. wow this bike has the fatboy tires on front and rear. I am having trouble seeing how you would even ride this, but some are saying with the bigger footprint on the road it will handle better. http://www.wired.com/magazine/2010/08/pl_motor_jafm/ Whaddya think? pretty different huh? Brian
  2. I think I'm in love - many times over. WOW! http://www.flixxy.com/top-female-tennis-players-slow-motion.htm
  3. Well folks I took the plunge and had ordered a buncha parts and tools, one of which were the Leveling Links from DR. The instructions didn't look complicated per se but they talked about remove a bunch of hoses from some contraption and silly enough it was a little intimidating to me.. However, once the bike was sky hooked and sitting stable, a quick looks showed how simple of a job this was going to be.. wow. Pull two bolts, replace the old hardware with the new, grease stuff in the process and voila, Leveling Links installed.. Down she goes for a test ride.. and egads I almost dropped the bike LOL.. I say almost because the babe wanted to kiss that corner like there was NO tomorrow and she recovered sweetly like I had never seen her do before. wow.. what a difference!! Ever do a tight turn and have that weird sensation that the front end was going to turn into itself and lock up, causing you to drop the bike? ( c'mon, I know you have lol) Well the leveling links basically got rid of that sensation and allows you to properly power out of that tight turn like the should do when properly handled.. I can hardly wait to let her loose on the MOST II course this week =) Hesitating about doing the links? It's simple and well worth the expense and time/effort to install.. wow. You can paint me as one satisfied customer!
  4. my great niece had to do a research on labor day she found out that over 70% of the work force work on labor day. 60% never get that day off unless they work 2 years for there company. over 80% get that day off without pay.. wow some holiday huh????

  8. Well folks, I finally got an opportunity today to really take a good look at the Victory Vision. I was in Toledo, OH and stopped by Honda East in Maumee, OH to see if they had a trunk bag for the RSV. They sell Honda, Yamaha, Victory....I don't remember what else. They didn't have the trunk bag but they did have a new Vision inside and a demo sitting outside. I didn't ask to take it for a ride but I did sit on it and started it up. First impression was the same one I've already had and that was "WOW...this thing is really ugly". Second impression was when I sat on it and I have to say that it felt very comfortable. Ergonomics felts really good, seat felt great, lot's of room. Third....I lifted it off the side stand and thought WOW...this thing is really well balanced. It almost stands up by itself. Apparently a very low center of gravity and I'm thinking that it would handle very well. Fourth...saddle bags look HUGE until you open them. What a disappointment though when you do open them. About the size of a decent sized automobile glove compartment. I don't know WHAT they were thinking. Fifth..stereo sounds GREAT. Bigger speakers than the RSV and really sounds nice. Sixth..started it up and you can certainly tell that it's a V-Twin. Vibration is not as bad as a Harley but it certainly does vibrate. I actually like the vibration though as I do with the Harley. Probably smooths out nicely at speed. Lastly...WOW...it sure is ugly. Sorry...but regardless of the few positives...I just don't think I would ever be able to get over the ugly.
  9. Wow, it's been a short year! I just logged on after a 5 week out of town trip and there was a message at the top saying that my 'trial membership' has expired! I thought it was just a fluke and it would go away the next day. - Wrong. So, I got to thinking about it and I just KNEW that my membership couldn't have expired, I just did it late last year. So, I was going to contact Freebird and let him know that my membership is logging wrong. - But, just for giggles, I checked my PayPal receipts and sure enough, my time was up. So, I paid my dues and am ready for another year! Time sure does fly when you are having fun. craigr
  10. 2006 Midnight RSV gave me a bit of a "hello" wake up call waaaay back in the boonies ealier today.. wow.. I was riding with a new rider and he decided to pull over for gas (smaller bike) and I had a quick glance down to see how my levels were holding, a good half tank.. When I turned around to rejoin him at the gas station (it was a surprise stop).. I looked down and huh.. no indications on the instrument panel.. Oh oh.. No turns signals.. wow.. As he was fueling, I did a quick check of what was and wasn't working or showing up on the panel.. Turn signals not working or indication, front - rear brake pedals not working the brake light. High beam light and indicator working, Cruise Control lights working.. But no Neutral light indicator, no clock, odo or speedo info showing up there at all.. it's a blank .. wow.. If you recall I had a miserable time with this bike last summer with the steering locks scissoring my wires to heck.. I wonder if that happened again when I did my u-turn just then.. Huh.. but nothing is down there or near there.. Fuses.. Ok, pull off left panel, and yup. 10A Signal Fuse is blown.. wow.. One fuse, and all of those things won't work on your bike.. I thought that wow.. what a silly way to set things up.. But think about it.. You'd NEVER know your brake lights weren't working.. you 'might' notice your signal lights not indicating on your dash... but you WILL notice if your fuel, speed and odo were missing from the panel.. Mayhaps some brainiac at Yamaha thought this one up as a "hey dopey, your fuse is out" method, or someone accidentally wired it this way and hey look, it made sense.. Now, because of all those problems I had last year, blowing fuses all the time, I had a good stash of fuses with me... but no 10A.. lol... Go figure.. of all the fuses, not the one I needed.. Happily the gas station gave me a couple to make sure I got home OK.. Quick steering stop to steering stop tests and no probs.. NO idea why that fuse blew.. Apart from wiring in a 4W LED driving lights in a week ago.. nothing's changed.. So far the system is working well but man.. what a "oh oh" cold feeling for a second out in the middle of nowhere... time to get some more 10A fuses... just in case.. And how was YOUR day?
  11. Just wanted to say thanks for the tip on the Barons bar extensions, installed mine this weekend( simple if you loosen brake control) and took my first ride with them on. Wow, total comfort! Bike fits me perfect now.
  12. Here is a trike conversion that is unique, to say the least!
  13. Rode the bike into work tonight for the first time with the Avon Tires and the lowering kit removed.......all I gotta say is WOW! The bike rode good before, but the tires are unbelieveable! Well worth the money. I cruised I-95 at about 75 and felt like I was on air. Can't wait until I get off in the morning so I can ride home. Thanks for pointing me toward the AVON's fellow VentureRiders! :dancefool::dancefool: Ben

    WOW Squid

First hope you got home OK after your trailer problems. Must of been a great deal in Vermont to pass by that 1st gen for sale in your own back yard, about 500 ft. north of the Blue River. Now the WOW part. That's sure a beautiful area of Michigan you live in. From St. Clair south to Algonac everything was so clean and well kept, and riding along the river had marvelous scenery along with all the Women in their bikini's. Took the ferry to Harsen's Island and that was a nice ride in it's self. Make a nice little ride for a summer meet and eat. Good luck on the new scoot.
