  1. Anyone have a left hand mirror assembly for a first gen they would be willing to part with for an affordable (as in: I'm poor) price? Fred
  2. I have an '83 standard Venture, and I am looking for these parts... Speedometer cable TCI Pickup coils If you have them, PM me with a price, or post here and I'll get back to you. Thanks, Patrick
  3. Recently, I had started putting together a mobile garage. I did this for 2 reasons, sooner or later I will be leaving Wainwright for home, with a bunch more stuff, than I arrived here with... This will also give me a dry place, to work on scoots, back on the wet coast. I took 3 pics today, of the setup work done over the last 3 weekends, since getting the trailer. I will be adding more lights, but CDN Tire was out of the ones, I'm using over the workbench (which is roughed in but not finished). The tool box is bigger than what I was going to put in. But with the current sale price, I couldn't really pass it up. $1,000. normally, $625. Sale price + additional $350 Bonus card, to get more goodies. So I figure $275 for the tool box, I'm grabbing it, besides I was eyeing it for about 1.5 years.......... :mo money:
  4. Should I pay the local Harley dealer 75 bucks for a new set of R/K takeoff mufflers? I don't know if the difference in sound would justify the price of the muffs. Art
  5. Anyone have an old rear shock (still in working condition) laying around not being used, from maybe a trike conversion. I need to replace the one on my '99 but I do not have $600 to spare right now. If i could find a used one that will get me by until I can come up with the cash for a new one, that would be great. I'm not asking for a hand out, I will pay a reasonable price for a used one. Can anyone help a brother out???
  6. Where is the best location to get a good price on a Stebel horn?
  7. Can someone tell me where to order the slides for a 1 gen at a far price? Thanks Yoop
  8. So what type CD changer can I get that will work with my RSV and who has found the best price? Thanks
  9. I have just posted an ad in the classifieds, Accessories for all bikes catagory, for an NOS HondaLine trunk mounted luggage rack. I had it on my bike for about one month. The only reason I took it off is the dealer here in Madison, SD, located an NOS Venture rack in his back room for me. I will include shipping fees in the purchse price of $60.00. I know photos are required, but my camera is on the blink right now. I will add them when I get it working. Thanks, Dave
  10. I was hoping someone could answer my questions about XM reception in Canada. I am about to purchase a Zumo 550 from Radioworld in Toronto. I will likely get the XM puck as well so I can have satelite radio and XM weather. Has anyone had experience with Radioworld? There price seems fair and they have everthing I need in stock. Does anyone have the XM weather/traffic option in Canada? Does it meet your expectations and work in Canada? Jim
  11. Price lowered on RSV, see kd4uvc on 2nd generation ads.
  12. Renton, Wa. Honda, Yamaha dealer. Has listed on web site, one new, ( non current ) Blue/Black 2008, RSTD for posted price of $9999.00. If anybody is interested. http://www.rentonmotorcycles.com/
  13. I have an '89 Venture Royale listed in the classifieds that belongs to a man who lives near me. He tells me that it needs the right side panel louvers and asked me to try and find some for him. If any of you have them for sale, please send me a PM with your price. Thanks
  14. Well many of you know that Lonna and I are headed towards Texas, Tennessee is an awsome state, but there are too many from michigan and the surrounding states headed there. What I need from some of you folks is options for moving. We have done the Pensky trucks before and I know about them. Seems right now it's a supply and demand thing and they are truly rediculous in price. I thought about the PODS thing, but they want more paperwork filled out than when I joined the Military, just to get a quote. Needless to say I am not impressed. Please let me know of any of your experiences and avenues for shipping the household to Texas. I'm not necessarily looking for someone to come in and pack it all, we can handle that. I'm just looking for options and obviously a good price, right now it's looking like a $3K deal if we rent a truck and the fuel and whatnot....I'm not impressed with that either I'll be keeping an open mind and hopefully we'll get some alternate ideas, as always, Thanks in advance.
  15. First off, I'm a newbie considering the purchase of a 1st gen. Venture. I am glad to have found this site! I've been lurking for a week or so and it's well worth the effort to become a member. So...... No doubt this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it by a search. I'm looking at a 1987 Venture that is in Great condition. 30k miles and everything works including the radio and CB. It is a very nice bike. If I could get it for $2,200, would that be a fair price?
  16. I was in Walmart yesterday looking for something and stumbled across a "Quick and Easy" motorcycle dryer. It looks exactly like the Air Force Blaster sold by shops for up to $200. I have a friend that paid $180 for his. I knew they were expensive but there was no price on the ones in Walmart. I took one to a clerk for price check and it was only $20, that's right $20. Didn't have to think about that very long. It has the same specs (4.0 hp, 29,400 ft/min air) and accessories that are shipped with the air blaster. For a picture see: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=B3%2DCD Apparently this is a close-out item at Walmart so you may have trouble finding it. Dennis
  17. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with a 2006 Road Star? Just looking at one this weekend for sale, good price and low miles. Pros or Cons? Thanks in advance as I am sure I will receive an education. Semper Fi
  18. May Get booed or even booted off the site. May be selling my venture because of my hands. I have moderately severe Carpel Tunnel in both hands. I had surgery in my left hand about 5 weeks ago and not much improvement. The bike is too heavy and I have almost dropped it on a number of occasions. It has the typical 1 gen second gear issue which I just go from 1st to 3rd. The bike runs strong, Idles great starts great and runs like a bat out of hell. It is leaking from the valve cover gaskets a bit. What would a fair asking price be for it?
  19. But I sure know who ended up getting a sweet deal. As we are serving breakfast on Sat and Sunday morning at the Pork in the Pines this year, (which, by the way is free for all in attendance) I realized that I needed to get a large griddle on which to fix breakfast. Had been checking prices, and the best price I could find for the griddle I wanted was $100.00 at Cabelas. This was the double burner Camp Chef cast iron walled griddle 15x32 inches. Well, last night I was at Gander Mountain and decided to check their camping equipment. You know, just in case I saw something that I really, really didn't need at the right price. Well, looking at their cast iron cookware, I see the Camp Chef Double griddle stuck in behind a bunch of other camp cooking equipment. No price on the box, so I ask the clerk working the section to check the price for me. He pulls it up on the store computer and quotes me a price of $59.00. This about knocks my socks off, so I ask him to check again just to verify that he looked up the right one. Yep, he says $59.00. Get to the check out, and the clerk scans the bar code and it comes up $79.00. This is still a great price, but I tell him the clerk in camping had checked the price and it was $59.00. So, the cashier calls the clerk in camping who confirms that he told me the price was $59.00. They talk for a few minutes, and the cashier says, "OK, if that's the price you quoted him, I'll go ahead and do a mark down". Couldn't get the plastic out fast enough. So, now you folks have another reason to come to the 2009 Pork in the Pines Pig Roast. Besides the great food, free camping, getting to meet old friends and make new ones, you can stop by and marvel at my great deal on the griddle. Only 8 weeks to go and counting down. If you haven't registered yet, you can register on line at www.porkinthepines.com And remember, this year there is no admission charge. But donations will be graciously accepted. Heck, even if you decide you can't make it this year, we would still be more than happy to accept your donation to help us off set the expenses. BTW: Just in case anyone was concerned, I finally got my Smilies working again.
  20. The ignition module I got isn't the right one so I'm not sure if I have other problems or not! It isn't running as smooth as it should but it could be a fouled plug or something. The problem may be a different response curve for the timing as well due to the diferent modsule. I stripped the module out of the '85 and found out it is also the different module, the same as the one I acquired. The good (?) news is that the module from the '85 is bad, and that's why it wouldn't start many years ago, so I can use my newly acquired one on that one! Sooo, the module I need is a TID14-28 41R10. The one I have is a 41R11 TID14-34. It seems to me there was a member rebuilding these modules. Anybody remember who?? I have a couple needing fixin' but I supose I could take them apart and replace the glass diodes myself. Anybody out there have the module I need for sale for a reasonbable price?? The last one I saw had a buy it now price of $99 and was around for several weeks before someone finally bought it. I have bought them of ebay as cheap as $45 but that was a couple of years ago...
  21. I received a flyer in the mail yesterday, and when I got around to reading it this AM I found a new item they're stocking... Wireless Inspection Camera with 2.4" Color LCD Monitor http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif I've been looking for one of these things for a while now, but the price has always kept me from buying one. This one's on sale for $99 bucks, and I'm going to make a trip to HF later this morning.. I can see it being one of the most helpfull pieces of equipment for checking out problems on a MC that I could own. There are a bunch of nooks and crannys on a scoot to that are just plain hard to get to without removing something or standing on my head, and this thing is going to make life so much easier. I figure if I didn't diagnose things myself... never happen... but if it did, I'd be paying a wrench around $75 bucks an hour to chase down a problem ... For the price it'll pay for itself after using it a couple of times..
  22. I went to a dealer in the next town, just to look at trikes and while I was there I spotted the Bushtec Roadstar. They almost had me sold on it. It looks wonderful and just what we need for our West Coast trip this summer. - I just can't get over the 4k price!! I read a few of the other posts on here about Bushtec and most have the same reaction - the price!! I like the idea that the quality / design is tops. I would hate to spend a few dollars less and not be happy with it. I wish there were other dealers locally that had different brands to compare with. I've got a month to find one, so if any of you have other suggestions, please speak up. craigr
  23. Check out harbor freight, They have a small motorcycle trailer for sale that will be on special I believe on june 12. for I believe $350.00 Can't even build one for the price. Item # is 66771-OVGA Anyone looking might be interested:scared:
  24. Went and picked up my windshield for the 83VR and the dealer has a very nice Black 99 Honda Valkyrie Interstate for sale. 38000 miles. Talked with the sales rep. and thought we had a out the door price agreement of $7200.00. Called him today to tell him I'm going to credit union in the morning and he said he can't remember agreeing to that price. So going back out there tomorrow and if the price is right will make a move on it. So that will mean the 83VR will be for sale. Just have to see what happens.
  25. I did a bulk buy on Seafoam and DeepCreep. Got a customer who sells this stuff wholesale so I asked him for a couple of cases, so now I got me a case of each. Todays price is 10.00 all taxes in. This is only good for locals though, can't ship it, but if you're around the area you can stop in and pick some up. If I have to buy more the price might increase seeing the posts in another thread that the price has increased in th US. I try to get more next week and see what happens.
