Have any of you come up with a way to mount your DOD decals that won't ruin the paint/chrome/windshield? I was thinking about putting the sticker on a plate, then somehow attaching the plate to the bike (windshield mount bolts?). This would allow me to remove it someday without damaging the bike surface where the decal was. If you have done anything along this line please share your ideas. Thanks, Nico

I was browsing through the Custom Dynamics web site a few days ago and found these little LED license plate bolts. http://www.customdynamics.com/illuminatorz_licence_plates.htm#LED_Tag_Bolts I thought they were kind of clever so I ordered a set and just installed them tonight. I decided to mount them to either side of the plate on their own bracket. Otherwise they would have to be disconnected in order to remove the plate. I wired them as brake lights and they add a little twinkle to the lower corners of the plate. Here's a photo. Dennis

I just got an MKII trunk delivered the other day. But I need the brackets that bolt the front of the trunk to the chrome mount. The ones I circled in red in the picture. Anybody have a couple they want to part with? I had also bought a mount assuming that it would be a simply bolt onto my MKI. But it doesn't. So I'm going to have to either modify the mount to fit my MKI, or modify the trunk to fit my MKI mount. The plus side to the later it that I might be able to take it on & off with a key like the MKI trunk. Who knows? Bill Oh ya! a couple of those pouches I circled in blue would be nice as well.

So I went down to the local dealer the other day, and they had a bunch of stuff on clearance for 75% off. So I grabbed everything that they had that would fit my bike. They had the passing light mounts, but not the lamps. They did however have a lightbar with some lamps mounted to it, so I bought that too (not the right lamps for this bike, but I made them work). I also grabbed some other stuff and sold it on ebay, and it paid for my whitewall tires and saddlebag rails. Well anyway, after all the great posts on this site, I was able to tear off my own wheels, grease the splines and got it all back together. I did, however, mess up, and didn't get the driveshaft back in the u-joint properly. I had to rip it back apart in 100 degree weather, and get it fixed. I was able to get it all put back and cleaned up. For under $200, I was able to pick up... All 3 fender tips, 2 leather bags (one for the backrest, and one for the front) I wanted to mount the one on the front under the headlamp, but I am still trying to figure out how to mount it. I also got the front fender rail and passing lamp mount and assembly. Anyway, today I got it all finished up, and I like the way it came out. I am Godlover's son, and he got me into this site, then sold his RSV? Go figure!! Well, what I can say is, Thank You for the wealth of knowledge y'all share.

Hi everyone, I have a set of ELECTROPODS led lights and I would like to mount them under the tank. I would like to know if anyone else has used them and where on a second gen. can you mount them to light up the engine. I have the rectangular ones if that makes any difference. Thank you.

A brief history: When I purchased my '05 it came wired up and with a GPS mount on the handlebar(even found a sunshade in the trunk). But, the previous owner took the unit. Through some detective work it was determined that the old unit was a Garmin 2620. I talked to a guy at a GPS booth and he said the 2730 will also fit the mount, and has the same wiring, but is a far superior unit. So .... I have been scouring Ebay, Craiglist, want ads, google searches etc. for years now. They go for about $125 to $150 used, missing parts, not map updated etc. on Ebay. But I could go out and buy a new Garmin for $150 .... but not wired for it and I'd have to buy a mount. Getting frustrated trying to bid for the things (why would so many people want 5 year old GPS units for the same price as a new ones is beyond me!) Before I ask .... what would you do? .... keep in mind I have unique hands .... extra thumbs!!! So, what would you do.... keep trying or is it worth all this effort for an old unit, should I rip out the wiring and go for a newer unit??? Thanks!

Looking for a bracket mount for a Garmin 665 XM satellite antenna. Similar to this. http://www.gpscity.ca/g/gps/l/4/ram344.jpg Any other options than RAM? Anyone have one to move along to a new home? Thanks

Was wondering if any of you have bought the coffee mug/holder? Had a couple of questions: 1) Does it mount on either side of the bars. In thier photos it is only shown mounted on the right side off the brake fluid resevior, was wondering if it would mount on the left off the clutch resevior? 2) Does it block access to any of the controls? Looks a little big with the handle taking up a good amount of space. I've got a friend that has the Kuryakyn version mounted on his HD, and its handy for water/coffee at stoplights or in traffic. Really good on hot days to keep hydrated. Works for him, but of course the mounts are different. As always appreciate any throughts. Ride Safe. Bob

I stopped by Cycle Gadgets.com today while passing through Eureka Springs and I picked up a RAM mount for my SPOT unit so now I consider my handlebars FULL. Don't you agree? Dennis

I need the CB Antenna mount with the boot, and cable to the CB on the Left side. The one on there is an aftermarket of some kind, and won't work too well with Trike setup. Email: revgp@junkmaster.com

Someone in the chatroom asked this question and wasn't able to figure out how to post (English not being his first language) so I'm offering to give a hand since I can't find an answer already posted on the forum. I figured this info might be useful in the future to others who came across similar issues in Europe. Are the mufflers for a venture royale XVZ13DA (1990); are the original mufflers available in the U.S.? what mufflers did you mount. the JAMA-mufflers are not available any longer I contacted the producer laserexhaust in the netherlands and was told they don't produce them anymore. He says they must be TUV tested per the german regulations on vehicles. K, Thanx Kat

FWIW, here are a couple of pics of the final version of my mirror mount mod: Billet Aluminium mirror mount http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad39/UxHamby/vehicles/bike3/7204bc1f.jpg?t=1276049880 Mirrors from Ebay http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad39/UxHamby/vehicles/bike3/79c1c8ab.jpg?t=1276050706 I think they look good and the new mirrors have worked out much better than my old OEM mirrors which just wouldn't stay put anymore. Hope this if of interest. Cheers, Brian H.

I'm trying to install a trunk on my 07 RSTD and was hoping someone had some mounting hardware laying about. If not, any ideas on how I can mount it? I BOUGHT THE TRUNK OF EBAY AND IT'S A UNIVERSAL MOUNT TRUNK. THANKS

Have a new to me 97 and don't have the cables to lock my helmet under the seat (not sure I like that option anyway). What has anyone else done as a useful option that they are pleased with? I as looking at the Kuryakyn Universal Helmet Lock, but have two concerns; 1) Is it wide enough to mount on the stick sissy bar? 2) Does it rattle? I've seen a few reviews saying so, but they seem to be in the minority; the rattle would be a deal breaker. Thanks!

Anyone out there have any advice to share on the best location to mount an E Z PASS on the RSV?

OK...Lets see how many different vids we can get to show and listen to the various WHINES that are out there. Here's mine...don't laugh. I couldn't really find a good place to mount the camera (no camera mount)...and ended up velcro-ing the camera to my GPS...thus the face pic. Anyway...here it is: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZOOmCwtpYw]YouTube- RSV Whine.AVI[/ame]
