Could everyone keep thier eye out for "GOOD DEAL" on a low milage used RSV midnight. I've watched several on ebay, search tempest, cycle trader and and power sports network. It seems most sellers think thier bikes are made of gold. If anyone come across one shot me a pm. I've been two years without riding, its tearing me up! Figure if I can find one in the next few months I'll spend the winter getting it set up the way I like:) The best deal I've seen so far was that 2004 repo on ebay but the auction was only 3 days which left no time to inspest it.

Just got a great deal through Kijiji, 2 dozen Titleist & 2 dozen Top-Flite XL3000 golf balls for $25. All brand new still in the plastic wrapping. But, about 2 years ago now, we scored a SOLID cherry bedroom suite (queen sleigh bed, two night stands, long 9 drawer dresser and mens armoir) the ad had been up for a while for $1500, then $1300 and when it came up for $1100 we went to see it. Talked her down to $850 and she showed me the receipts for $5000 one year previous. Her daughter had bought it and then moved for work so mum was selling it for her and it wasn't moving, until dunvilsteev showed up!! THAT was my best deal! And how about y'all? Whats the best scoop you've every got through Kijiji or Craigslist? Love to read about others deals ....

Just an FYI - the company called Powersport Superstore seems to be a very risky vendor. If you order something from them that that has some function and needs to be installed to see if it actually works, they will flatly refuse to authorize a return for anything that has been installed, even when they sold you a defective item. I personally find that business practice dishonest and will not deal with them again. Goose (Note that this is NOT the same company as Motorcycle Superstore. I have had many perfectly fine transactions with Motorcycle Superstore and will continue to use them.) -
I am planning or replacing the trans gears in my 83, Muffinman told me to get an 86 or later and its a direct swap. Does anyone have one they would be willing to part with. I can get one on Ebay, but would much rather deal with someone I can trust.

New here and a question

Hello. I am new to this forum and if this is in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I am looking at picking up a venture and from my research it is a Mk I as it has the 1200 cc engine and detachable luggage. Right now it is not mobile and has not run in a year or so. I am an experienced mech so getting it running should not present too much of a problem. My question is is $250.00 cdn a good deal for this bike even if it is going to take a bit of work and money to fix up? I am new to ventures so not sure of value of these bikes. Thanks in advance. Black Owl told me he has been fielding some questions about the trailer for the 2010 Int'l Rally that we're raffling off. Since this is my deal, I'll do my best to explain it. The supplier of the trailer is Time Out Trailers. They're a local manufacturer of the CycleMate line of motorcycle cargo trailers and Timeout motorcycle camping trailers. The deal I worked out with the owner is that we will receive a voucher good for $1500.00 towards any of their trailers. They produce about 12 different cargo trailers and 2 campers. I will post a link to their website at the end of this post. Whoever wins the trailer raffle will have to contact Timeout and can then decide what they want. You will be able to actually hand over the voucher and walk away with a base trailer or you can use it towards a higher end trailer or even a camper. However you decide it's worth $1500.00. We figured this would be easier than trying to get a certain trailer. This way the winner can decide what's the best deal for them. I hope this explains how the deal will work a little better. I took the plunge this week and bought a Wolo Chrome on ebay. Ad said used with minor scratches but seller deals almost exclusivley in horns and has good feedback, so I took a chance. Total cost shipped of just over $36. He still has some for sale - starting bid is $24.99. Now I don't like anything cheap. Cheap generally doesn't perform the way it should, and mostly ends up costing more as a result. The sweetness of low price is soon forgotten in the bitterness of poor quality. So that being said, I think we are getting an awesome deal at $12.00 US for the help that this forum provides. Such a deal in fact, that if I were to buy a magazine subscription to try to capture anywhere near close what I get here,,,,,, at $12.00 I would not even think twice about the supposed results, but instead, look for something that would actually do the trick for me,,,,,,, and then,,,,,,, I would have to wait months or maybe even years for them to come across with the info I would need. OK ENOUGH,,,,,,, This site is worth a lot more than $12.00 US,,,,,,, I'm going to send at least $12.00 CDN. So if you feel the sameway I do, about value for trade,,,, do your thing and bump up the $12.00.

OK, so I cruise out to Don's house to have him so generously sync my carbs, and in the meantime I have a potential buyer who lives 30-40 minutes from there. The buyer meets me at Freebird's house, sees the bike, talks to Don, and we walk over to the pond to discuss the deal. Under threat of attack by pond monsters (we were standing next to the 'Beware' sign) we made a fast, no-hassle deal! Not sure if it was the fear of attack or just Don's good nature that assisted the most, but my thanks and gratitude to both. Not only did he get a great running bike in the deal, but hopefully he will be one more attendee at maintenance day. Note to Don - the bike ran tip-top, of course, on the way home. Watched it pull out on the trailer this morning, so I'm back to a one-bike stable with the 1100 Virago. Stay safe everyone! Have a great riding season!

I must admit - I'm addicted to Craigslist!! I check it several times a day and have found some pretty good deals. If you find a really good deal - you need to act fast! Last week I almost got a 2001 BMW Touring bike from a local for $4500 but I was the 3rd person who called and the first guy took it, of course. My best deal was my 2000 MM Venture with 13,000 miles for 6,000. My best deal ever in the local classifieds was an 86 Goldwing Aspencade for $400 and I rewired the stator and sold it for $3,000.

OK folks....this is just to find out if there is any interest at all. If not, then no big deal. I have worked out a deal where we can get these bags with the VentureRider logo on the back and a 10% discount IF I can buy them in a lot of 50 units. I already have a bag and don't really need one but would buy one with the VentureRider logo if there is enough interest to get the group purchase. The temps are in the 60's the next few days. I finally get the chance to bring out my Venture! I did not roll it out in the sun for ten minutes before someone showed up interested in buying it!. I priced it high I though but she is a beauty. Well if he brings the cash, I will have no option but to start shaking the bushes for a deal on a RSV! Thanks for you help on getting it to be such an outstanding bike guys!...oh, and you too ladies! :bowdown:

Amazon.com has a sale through midway on a case of 6 cans for $39.00. Add $8 for shipping still comes to only $8.00 a can to your door. Anybody found a better deal? It's a 50 mile drive to nowhere out here so I might bite on it.

Guess who is looking for a new bike again!? Nope, not me this time! Marilyn has had her eye on the Raider ever since she sat on one last year. Loves it....red with flames. Does anyone have any report on them? I have checked a little into their site but it didnt help me much. Also does anyone know of a good deal on one? And you know we will drive a long way to get a good deal! Craiglook has several and one in Sherman TX looks really nice and loaded as well! But I checked the dealer site and its not listed there anymore so I assume its gone.

Would you believe it, snow!! For the first time in fourteen years it's snowing. It's the big light fulffy kind. The kids are having a ball. I know you people up north could care less, but it is a big deal around here in Mobile,Al. Saw a big 10 point buck run through my yeard a few hours ago. Guess he didn't know what snow was. tew47
