  1. For $0.01 each I'm pleased, so far. When they arrived, I thought how can 3 covers be in a package this small. Oh Well!!! They are not something I would use long term, but they will be perfect for traveling. The won't take up much space and will be great for use over night in a motel parking lot.
  2. Painted my Calipar Covers. I think it came out pretty nice. Going to do the "V"s on other accessories.
  3. Does anyone have one of those shouldered spacers that is required for the installation of the chrome rotor covers for a MKII?
  4. I removed the front wheel and brake rotors to send it out for a tire replacement. I didnt keep track of which side the chrome rotor covers came off of. I now discovered that one is weighted and the other isn't. Which side does the weighted one go on? I looked on South Seatle Yamahas part site and it appears to me it is the right hand side. Is this rught? What is the weight for anyways? As usual any and all help is greatly appreciated. Jim
  5. Looking for the ball milled covers. Just found the ball milled backing plates. Brand new in swainsboro ga. On his self since 2000. Gave me nice discount!
  6. Anybody have these covers and have a pic of them on your bike?
  7. I was at Radio Shack to get resistors for the battery light by-pass and the salesman showed me a smarter than me phone app called ELECTRODROID. This app covers way more than I will ever understand. But it's pretty cool.
  8. I just recently acquired a set of rotor covers that included the install instructions and I thought I would share that with everyone here who might need to reference it. Hope this helps. Rick F.
  9. Do these covers do anything, or are they just for show? Mine are oxidized & I want to polish & paint them. If I take them off to redo them I won't have to replace any gaskets or cause a leak?
  10. This is to see if there is any interest in having engine side covers made. The part #s would be: 41R-21731-00-00 and 41R-21741-00-00. They are a 1st gen part only. Will be made from Mirror Finish 18 gauge Stainless. The right side will not be dimpled for the screws, but I figure a couple of nylon washers glued in place should work just fine. Cost would be about $100.00 for the pair and may include shipping. It maybe cheaper, depending on how many we need. We just worked out a maximum price today. The ones shown are chrome, so for identification only.
  11. Does someone have some procedure instructions on how to install Roto Covers on a MKII before I just go taking to many things off?
  12. I found this site and wanted to share with all. I am not sure if they make these for first and second gens, but looks like it maybe. They show the Royal Star and then the Venture ? So just some information for anyone interested. Good prices I think. I have sent them an e-mail to learn what thickness the covers are and if they are shorn sheep wool. Will update if recieve information back from e-mail. http://sheepskinfactory.com/motorcycleselection.cfm?motorcycle=3 Also here; http://www.alaskaleatheronline.com/servlet/StoreFront Fuzzy
  13. Whats the proper way of removing the 4 retangular engine side covers. They are the ones that go right on the outside of each Cylinders. I have one of those hand held impact drivers but am a bit concerned about the transfer of the impact from the hammer to the cylinder walls.
  14. Will 07 valve covers fit on a 1st Gen. Same gaskets aren't they?
  15. In need of 1 handle bar nut cover for 86 Vr. While on a trip last week with the kids, one of my plastic covers that hide the nut to adjust handle bars came flying off. Hoping someone will have this small item, Gladly pay for it and shipping. Thanks Gil
  16. Months back someone had a link to a small custom leather company that made leather gas cap covers to fit RSV. Anyone know what it was or know of gas cap covers besides the Yamaya one? Thanks, Mike G
  17. How do you deal with removing/installing the grips on a first gen? Are the chrome caps on the end of the bars removable or do the old grips have to be cut off and the new ones stretched over the end caps? I have an 84 VR that the PO put leather grip covers on, which make my hands feel like I'm holding onto the fat end of a baseball bat. Want to remove the covers and set something up that is a little smaller in diameter.
  18. :wow:Happy Anniversary you two!! Have a Great Day!! ( if this is not the day, you will have one some day, so this covers it) LOL
  19. Anybody have one of the cylinder side covers layin around? I just need one. Don't ask what happened...
  20. I changed the antifreeze in my bike. I noticed the bolt in the center of of the painted black piece in between the side covers was missing. It is bolt number 14 on pages SIDE COVER - D11 & D12 of the schematics in the Tech library. If anyone has one lying around I would appreciate your help. I suppose the bolt has been missing since new, or mechanic may have left this bolt out when they changed the clutch basket or new head casket. The bolt really has no affect other than it would stiffen the center mount up some for the side covers. I am funny about stuff like this, the bolt should be there even so. Thanks, Fuzzy ........
  21. Getting a Voyager Kit installed on my '91 VR and my riding buddy has a Voyager Kit on his '97 RSTD. We both need covers. I've read stuff about the Hannigan covers (Sorta like a Nelson-Riggs????). What's the deal? Will a Hannigan cover fit over bikes with Voyager Kits? Thanks. Y'All ride safe
  22. I'm about ready to start swapping out the fin covers for a set of blacks, and after reading about coolant leaks coming from under the covers I thought I'd go ahead and do a little PM and order new gaskets. After looking at the parts schematic I'm confused. It shows something called a Damper Engine Mount. #37 and #40. And they sure don't look like a seal to me. Are these things rubber, and do they seal anything??
  23. Easy one first.... I have a HF Tag Along trailer and it has 8" wheels. Has anyone put wheel covers on their trailer? Thinking of getting some safety chrome covers. Would be covers from a golf cart company. Golf carts use 8" wheels. Second... interested in an inexpensive (
  24. Was wondering if any of you have removed the covers from the side bags on your RSV? I need to remove mine to have them painted. I think I vaguely remember having to unscrew a piece of material that keeps them from swinging too far open, however also remember there being a hinge with a pin in it that I couldn't figure out how to remove. I'd can't check it quite yet, as its still buried behind 1.5' of snow in our shed, being stored for the winter. Was hoping one of you may have some advice, so I could be ready to go once the snow melts... Thanks in advance. Bob
  25. Hi, I purchased a high output stator from Buckeye Performance and have been reading the threads both here and the step-by on the Venturers.org site and have a couple of questions. In a thread on the HOS install someone said this: Basicly just remove both Case Covers on left side of engine. ( You have to remove the aft cover also, to access the Wireing bundles) After cover is off, Its just a few small bolts, to change the Unit. The one sticking point is the Gasket that Seals the 3 large wires from the Stator, and the 5 small wires from the " Ignition Pick Up Coils " Be sure to order New Gaskets, for the Case Covers !!!! ( Both of them ) Also, the Lower Bolt, on the Aft Cover, has a Brass Crush Washer, that makes an Oil Seal. Its advisable to order a few of those and keep on hand. In the step by step photos on the Venturers.org site it looks like someone is taking the exhaust apart and considerably more is involved than removing a few side covers. Am I missing something here? Do you have to drain the oil from the bike in order to instal/replace the stator? If anyone could help clarify this for me and or give me some additional information it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Chris in Red Deer, Alberta
