I've been casually interested in the Stratoliners for a while now. Once in a while I'll do a search on Ebay. This morning this show'd up STRATOLINER. It's located about a mile away so I went over to look at it. It's clean..flawless.., but when I looked at the ignition key area it was grubbier than all get out. Touched it with my finger and it came back black with oil... or road grime?? But that was it for the whole bike. Otherwise with 17K on it, it's still like new, and so far the bidding on the big E is at $7100, which is about trade-in value. I really don't know what to do. Do I say screw it, and if I'm going to buy anything, make it an early 2-Venture which comes with a lot more accessories?? I'll never be able to afford a new RSV. I do like the Strat's styling..and for me it sits good. One thing that bothers me is of the strats I've seen for sale... 2006's mostly... are all low milers. A bunch at 3-4,000 miles. Some a little more, and some a little less. Is the bike that bad of a road machine that they're all garage queens??? I donno, I'd hate to buy a pig in a poke. Yeah I know... I'm a wuss...

I'm still thinking about this creek and considering a trailer to haul the scoot.I looked at the ones at Tractor Supply. They have a wire mesh floor,drop down gate,4x8 with a 2000 lb payload for around $600.95% of it's use would be hauling down to the camp only 1 mile down the road.Maybe once a year an occasional trip 500 miles to the beach. What would you buy? Here is my needs. 1. Budget minded nothing fancy 2. Easy to load and unload by your self. 3. Heavy duty enough for a first gen or ATV I would be pulling this with a pickup. My 16ft dual axle trailer is to big for this and would like something smaller.

Leave it up to me..... After the thread the other day about loose bolts I put my '07' up on the stand and started cleaning and tightening. When I got around to the front fender left side front I find nothing but a hole and a few scratch marks where the fender has been bouncing. If anybody has a bolt - I'd be more than happy to buy it 'cause I'm sure the local dealer will have to order it and that'll mean a 2 or 3 week interval and a lot more scratches

My dad has a 1989 Royale that he bought new. It has been sitting in the garage for the last 4-5 years and he has finally decided to sell it. The bike is in good to excellent shape, only 16000 miles, has not been run in 4-5 years. Everything was in working order last he rode it. I called a couple service departments at local dealers and BOTH tried to shy me away from it. Mainly due to it being older and limited parts availability. Are parts still generally available? Anything else I should watch out for? Should I buy it? Any help / guidance would be appreciated. Thanks! Eric

I am sure this has been talked about but would love to have some input...I need to replace my Brake pads on my 06 Midnight venture. There is so many diffent pads out there so would like some input on type and good places to buy them from.

I did a bulk buy on Seafoam and DeepCreep. Got a customer who sells this stuff wholesale so I asked him for a couple of cases, so now I got me a case of each. Todays price is 10.00 all taxes in. This is only good for locals though, can't ship it, but if you're around the area you can stop in and pick some up. If I have to buy more the price might increase seeing the posts in another thread that the price has increased in th US. I try to get more next week and see what happens.

I have a 1983 Venture motorcycle. I need to replace the anti-dives on it and was wondering if the models from 1983 1984 and 1985 are all the same part number for the anti-dives? I want to be sure to order the correct anti-dive. Also, do you know where I could buy a pair of used anti-dives for this bike? Any information you can give me is much appreciated. Thanks. Does anyone know the size of the socket required for the big nut that holds the steering crown on (big top nut)? I don't see the size in the svc manual. I have to buy a socket tomorrow morning to get it off and would like to make just one trip. Kevin

I posted this in the wanted to buy section but not getting any help so I will post it here I hope that is all right. I am looking to buy a 5 pin handheld mic that will plug into the 2nd Gen plug that sits on the gas tank. J&M use to make one but not anymore. I have been to 3 truck stops and the few 5 pin cb handheld mics they have do not match up and all the rest of the mic's are 4 pin. I would like to buy a handheld mic that works with the 2nd Gen or if someone has a model number of a handheld mic that they could give me I can Google it and buy a new one. Thanks Harry:puzzled:

Hi All, New to this forum, but loving it so far. I'm vertically challenged (5' 7") and I'm getting tired of not being able to see over the top of my windshield and going crazy trying to see through it the rain. So, I'm getting ready to buy a new windshield for 07 RSV and was wondering a couple of things. What brand do you recommend? What is the best way to determine the correct size for me.

drove in to Corpis yesterday to get my new e 3 put on , took the wheel and new tire to the Yamaha dealer was told they will not work on my bike ' to old i said i have the wheel off , than was told they don't install tires they don't sell . i tried a few other shops , same thing ! stopped a HD rider and was told to have it done at a local custom shop , only cost 30 bucks , i got to the custom shop , had to listen to the bad mouthing about jap bikes , how much money the tire machine cost , also was told if i bought food at the store would i take it to a cafe to get it cooked but sence i was from out of town he would put it on for me but no warranty for 45 bucks and than was told to leave it and he would call me when he got around to it , i told him it was not worth me driving 80 miles round trip plus 45.00 to have it done i'd stick around [ i wanted to watch him to make sure he did it rite ] finlley after a hour making friends with him he installed my new tire and and did it rite i paid him 45.00 . he found the receit in the tire , 116.00 what i paid retail 179.00 , i ask him what he would charge for the the tire and do's he buy tires off the internet WOW did that start a fire ! he told me he only buys tires from Drag Spec. and never from the internet ! ok , i pic up my wheel , said thanks and left the building . in my bus. i install parts custermers bring in all the time , i like the money and when i sell parts i tack on 17 to 35 % on the whole sale price , i have a 7000.00 power bill a month and i can buy a whole lot cheaper and not have to pay shipping because i buy in large amounts , when i owned a small one man shop i loved cust. bringing in there own parts , no stocking , no shipping , no taxs , i did not have to be out of any money only labor . i forgot one thing , i asked every m/c shop i went to , do a lot of riders buy tires off the net and was told yes , than i asked do a lot of riders install there own ? again yes , not one shop got what i was saying ! O'well i think it is time to buy a tire machine ! Thom
