  1. Bob, Just letting you know that the quick fist clamps arrived safely in the mail Thanks again :clap2:
  2. Bob, The fist clamps are perfect :thumbsup2: Have sent you a PM in regard to purchase. Thanks for posting your web site for me (in Ladies Lair) Alan was able to see them really well. IH Truck Guy, Am posting the pics you requested of sticks in place on bike: 1. Frame of outrider, at rear, where end of crutch will sit. 2. Shows stick in place. 3. Looking down between pannier and fender (handle of stick) 4. Position of crutch in place. Rubber stopper on the bottom will sit up on a slight angle, and will need about 21/4 inches in the "thingie" to fit-okay. This is all amazing-and so appreciated. My mechanic (Alan) gets up for work at 4.15am and sometimes isn't home till 6-7pm, and that's six days a week. Doesn't leave a lot of time. Thanks for the idea's :clap2::thumbsup2:
  3. Bob sent you a pm..............
  4. My wife has told me that there is a a car and bike show in North Branch MN. on June 13th (Saturday) from 9 AM to 2 PM. It is $5.00 to display your bike or free to attend. I was thinking if there was an interest from people I would have a camp out and a BBQ for the day or over night. I have an acre to camp out and on, a nice area with a fire pit. Gas grill for BBQing and just good camaraderie for those in attendance. If interested please let me know and I will start a list in this posting so people can see that your attending. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Oh I forgot there is a DQ in town. After all this is an eating club with a MC disorder. RIGHT? Steve aka Bubber Black Owl ...... tentatively yes Nyuk Renne Grampagak Craig Bob S. (spray can Bob)
  5. I just got a call about this. The guy who was riding the motorcycle is a friend of mine and we were co-workers for many years. It will be awhile before I find out his condition but his grand-daughter was killed. I've always felt that these kind of postings had the benefit of keeping all of us on our toes to watch out for the cars out there. Never thought I'd be one of those guys making the post. Be careful out there my friends.... Bob http://www.krem.com/topstories/stories/krem2-051109-crash-victim-father.177ad9e2.html

    Dragonslayer in Texas

Had a great time hosting Bob the Drangonslayer here in the Texas Panhandle over the weekend, and also meeting Jack, aka Silver Bullet. I'm sure Bob will post highlights of his journey, but here are a few pics until he can post some of his own. Hes got quite a few stories to tell! He headed out of Amarillo last night around 2200, I'm not sure of the exact time, but he was going to try to make a Saddle Sore run from Amarillo to Atlanta. Hope we hear from him soon!
  13. Bob Meyer and his friend just arrived in SLC safely. Bob ('86 Venture) called and he is having difficulty getting his clutch to release. My initial thought is that because of the elevation change from Kentucky to Utah that the system has additional pressure and that if we open the master cylinder cap that will relieve it and his system will function normally again. Any ideas or suggestions before I go home from work would appreciated. Dave
  14. So there I was at Carl’s Birthday Party thinking this is really nice and what a great bunch of folks. Honestly, the way VR’s mixed in with Carl’s family you’d think we were all related! I guess we are in a sense and it’s nice to see the family grow and faces become more familiar. The gathering was great and nothing was missing, except Hal’s ‘wings’ of course (long story, if you weren’t at the Rally perhaps you seen the photo’s), even the weather behaved. Smiles and laughter were all around amidst great stories and even better food... one would think it couldn’t get any better... well it did. Part way through the evening while out on the deck I was approached by one of our members ‘bongobobny’. If you ever met Bob and his lovely wife Becky you’ll know what wonderful people they really are. Well by this time Bob and I had already said hello but hadn’t talked much. I was looking forward to catching up with him but our conversation took a little turn and that’s when it happened. Bob reached out to me with something in his hand and with the most sincere smile he said “here is something I’d like you to have”. When he opened his hand there was a small black velvet pouch and he handed it to me. Well I feel challenged to find words that adequately describe how wonderful I felt when I opened the pouch to find a VentureRider Guardian Bell. It truly is a gift of friendship and I will cherish it as such! Thank you very kindly Bob & Becky! PS. I haven’t put it on the bike yet but I’ve hung the pouch off my belt loop till I do... every once and a while I hear a “ting” from the bell and I think of Bob and it brings me a smile! At some point I’ll put it on the bike.

  21. I just purchased a Signal Dynamics light bar for the back of my scoot. http://signaldynamics.com/products/LightBars/red15ulb_sm.jpg So, where do you wire it into the brake/running lights? Thanks, Bob
  22. Yesterday morning around 7 AM I tried to call Bob to see how he was doing. At that time there was no answer. After I got to work I telephoned my wife and asked her to call Becky (Bob's wife) to see if everything was ok. A relative answered the phone and informed my wife that Bob went to the hospital early yesterday morning around 4 AM at which time he was to have some toes on his foot amputated as the infection in his foot that he has been battling took a turn for the worse. Evidently the doctor never told Bob not to eat breakfast before he came in...he did...and so the surgery got postponed to later yesterday afternoon. My wife and I were planning on going down to his house after work today but when I got into work they changed my schedule from 8 to 4 pm to noon to 10 pm. Bob is at ECMC which stands for the Erie County Medical Center. I am sure he would love some cards and well wishes. If I can find his home address I will paste it here so you can send a card. In the meantime...I'm sure posting here would be great as well. Ok...here is Bob and Becky's home address...lets flood them both with our prayers...some posts here...and get some cards in the mail so that when he returns he has something to cheer him up. Robert & Rebecca Scharf 52 Aristo Terrace Arcade, NY 14009-9205 Just got off the phone with Becky...Bob had his surgery yesterday afternoon at 5 pm...surgery was done at 6 pm...doctor had to remove one toe (initially they thought maybe two)...he should be discharged and coming home this Monday if all continues to go well. My wife and I are going down to his house after church Sunday to put in their air conditioners so that will be one less thing they have to worry about. He currently is in room 703 and there is no telephone in his room. I told Becky to make up a to do list of other things that need to be done around the house and I would try to solicit some help from here to come to their home next Saturday June 14th to help in getting things done. She said there is not much to do...but come on guys...many hands will make for light work...so please consider this request. We can get the job done then maybe chip in for some pizza and wings and hang out with Bob and Becky to keep him in good spirits. I figure we could get there between 9 am and 10 am...and have all the work done by noon, 1 at the latest...and then have the rest of the day to hang out and enjoy one another. Please post here if you can come...Becky says there wll not be a lot to do...but lets get it done and have a party for and with Bob and Becky.
