Received an email notice about a Motorcycle dealer closeout auction in Chicago. Anyone in the area might want to stop by and see if there's anything that's interesting. Chicago Sports & Cycle Honda/Kawasaki Closeout Auction For anyone out of the area there'll be stuff available for bidding online via Proxibid... I've never bid on anything thru Proxibid. Tried once but they have too high a percentage load, so I passed. I still get their notices which are interesting to read. There are a couple of new Yamaha twins in the mix...

Someone on ebay has a front fairing with speedo and radio and I am assuming maybe the inner fairing (just a guess but since it has the speedo) anyway you could ask. 2+ days left and the bid is $17 and change. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Complete-fairing-for-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-Radio_W0QQitemZ120532559304QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c104ce5c8

Well, I did it...gave up my weekends for my wife. Her position was eliminated and she had to bid another position. We both had Sun/Mon off. She got stuck with tue/wed off. Thursday I bid a new position and I had a nice selection of weekends off. I took a tue/wed position to match hers. 6 pm to 230 am. There goes some planned Meet and Eats. Im still having the one on May 8th here with Blackjack, so.......... Please tell me I did it for love............

I'm thinking about buying a wrecked Venture to fix up and try to make a few bucks. My son can purchase bikes through Coparts so I might have bid on the one in the link I will post. I will have some cost with shipping to Iowa and auction cost. Give me some ideas on what you think would be a fair bid on this bike. If someone on this forum is bidding on the bike I won't pursue it. http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s3&lotId=17766739&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS

This may be my first time of getting burned on eBay. I hope not. I bought a set of chrome fairing hole covers on a BIN bid from a seller named "awfulhaunted" on October 29th. I paid as soon as I comfirmed my bid. The seller posted that there was free shipping on the BIN for domestic shipping. The PayPal totaled in the shipping on the sale so I went ahead and paid the full billing. I contacted the seller the next day and he did refund the shipping promptly. Still kept the item price in full. Fixed, or so I thought. So I waited.. Then a few days later I get a notice from eBay that a listing I had been watching had relisted. I popped it up and what do I see but the same side covers, same pic, same exact listing I had already paid for. So I contacted the seller requesting info on the shipping as I had seen the new listing and was concerned that there may have been some confusion because of the refunded shipping. Got a response that they had been shipped via FedEx......not UPS as stated in the listing. No tracking number was provided. That was on 11/06/09. He did explain that the new listing was another set that I had just got from another bike. Er...yeah....ok.....sure. And I waited... So I contacted him again today requesting the tracking info as I see someone has bid on the second listing. Haven't heard from him yet. If not by tonight I guess I'll have to start a claim on the guy. It's been going on two weeks and not much happening. So the listings were: Item# 300361849 for the ones I bought. Item# 300364426 for the second listing. Look alike to me...... Guess I'll try to put a cork in this guy before he sells this set again. I hope I'm wrong on this. So anybody had dealings with this guy?

I came across a 2002 Midnight with 25K miles on it. Appears to be in excellent conditiion and knowing where it came from, I'm sure it it. It has several added options including tank bid, luggage rack etc... The guy priced it at $8350.00 . Question is what is an 02 Midnight worth?

I'm thinking of trying one of the Venture seats on my rstd. There's one on Ebay now and the bid is up to $132. Are these seats worth that much money? I've never seen an stock seat sell for that much. It has a couple of days left ...dunno how high the bid might go but I don't think I'll bid that high for a stock seat. I'd sure like to buy one to try though. Art

Have any of you guys been involved in this auction program? Some of the stuff ends up going amazingly cheap. There is a timeline that restarts and goes 15 seconds from the last bid and if you are the last bidder and no one else bids for 15 seconds, you win at that price. The kicker is, everytime you bid, it cost you $.75 cents, whether you win or not. RandyA After looking at this, I guess it does not have anything to do with ebay. http://www.swoopo.com/

Lately I can believe some of the stuff sellers are listing on Ebay. Dirty, rusted, looks like they drug the bike out of Freebird's pond, and they expect a venture rider to bid on it??? It's happening more and more. Are they that hard up... or dumb??? I'da tossed it in the dumpster. EXAMPLE

Previewed an auction Monday and the only thing they had that I was even mildly interested in was a 6x12 Pace American Trailer. I wasn't into Bounce Houses and party favors so didn't want to come back for just the trailer.. Put in an absentee bid on the trailer of a grand. I didn't think it would fly, but what the heck! Got a call from the folks yesterday afternoon that the bid flew and I now own another trailer, and am sorta broke... More storage room.. .. Here's a pic...

Hi all, There is a guy on ebay selling a set of first gen. VR carb. diaphragms new with a starting bid of $49.99. He even shows pics of the install right on the bid page. Could these be for real? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280250975829&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:us Item number: 280250975829 Has anyone ever used aftermarket carb. diaphragms for their first gen. with any luck? Comments would be greatly appreciated! Earl and Jean
