  1. I sure hope you guys enjoy answering My super simple questions! Got a new one. What side is the cb antenna supposed to be mounted on?
  2. Where have any of you mounted the Bad Boy on your second gen?
  3. Anyone with a Hannigan RSV trike have a rear bumper installed? Am pondering the idea of mounting one on my 08/2011. It would have to be frame mounted vice body mounted, I would think that a body mounted one would crack the fiberglass if any impact. Any sources/pix/suggestions would be appreciated. Tnx in advance.
  4. On a ride with a Goldwing Bud a few weeks ago I was envious of is Bushtec Cooler Rack attached to this Bushtec hitch. On a weekend trip we had no need for the trailer, but his cooler held some cold drinks and snacks. His wife liked it and my wife "REALLY" liked it. Sleeperhawk has a rack I liked some time back, but that company is out of business. Soooooo I ordered the same Igloo 16Qt. cooler that Bushtec uses and had the frame and cover made. On his Wing it is mounted longways left to right (Wing Lights mounted higher than RSV). I did not want to "WIRE" the rack so I measured and discovered that the cooler mounted N & S versus E & W (could not see the turn signals that way on the RSV) would work. I have a signal dynamics light bar for the brake, and the license plate is visible so here it is. Note: I ordered FuzzyRSTD's Hitch Clamp from our sight to tighten things up. Works GREAT by the way. All in...$120..... Long Tall Lynchburg, VA
  5. I recently mounted this led brake/tail/signal light bar that was on sale here in Ontario at Princes Auto for about $20. I liked this bar as it could be separated from the frame that it came in so it fits neatly under my trunk. Was able to avoid drilling holes by using plastic ties around my trunk rack. Mounted the light bar immediately below the trunk, so my helmet holders including locks are still functional. Used wood shims visible in the picture but not visible from behind to keep the light bar hanging straight. Also, I wired the lights by just plugging into my trailer wiring plug.
  6. Have you been able to do anythings with those mufflers yet, just curious, I would be interested in seeing them mounted and how you did it.
  7. Removed these from my RSV this week and replaced with OEM mufflers. I can actually hear the music when I ride! I would like to try to identify the mufflers I pulled before trying to sell. The pictures show them mounted and unmounted. There are no markings of any kind. The bracket that extends to the side to fit them to the RSV is welded and held with a bolt. Any ideas?
  8. Pulled the rear wheel to change the tire and considered pulling the gear mounted on the wheel. Got the dust seal off and just about pulled the snap ring....re-read the tech article and realized it was about noisy rear...which mine isn't...so ended up not pulling and greasing it. Anyhow....new E3 mounted and on, pipes on...just finishing my last electrical connection in the fairing and the bike is ready for the weekend....but, See the dust seal still sitting on my tool box How important is it for pavement riding (no gravel)? Can I get by the weekend? a month? Take the damn tire off in this 200 degree garage and put it back on? Thanks for any input
  9. Can anyone tell me where the emergency flasher switch is suposed to be mounted on an '83 VR?
  10. morning and the shop owner came out & asked me to step in the shop to look at something, rear breaks were gone, caught just in time ... so I got a new tire and breaks... still wasn't to bad $90 to have the tire mounted ( i bought the tire online), balanced , used nitrogen, new rear breaks put on....
  11. Hey gang, so those of you that have the Argus Battery Bug, where have you mounted it? Pictures please, I already have a Kuryakyn LED mounted and it works great, 4 years running and no problems, but going one step father, been hearing pretty good reviews about them. Also, how have you been liking yours? Thanks, Jeff
  12. hi all. is it ok to use battery tender jr on my 08 rsv? the owner man. says don't use a conventional charger as it could damage the battery. I like to use the battery mounted pigtail so you don't have to remove the seat to maintain batt. thanks
  13. After seeing several variations on mounting some accessories on a 1st gen, I thought I would share what I have done. In mounting the GPS, I wanted it to be easily visible, stable and not in the way of other things. By mounting a piece of Plexiglas on the left side handlebar riser, it is off center enough to not be in the way of reaching for the ignition switch and it is stable. It is also easy to take off when parked. Years ago, the vent on the left side broke and I installed a radar detector in the hole. It works very good shooting through fairing and is out of the way and not noticeable. This helps when I make a corner and drive into a Virginia State Police roadblock as detectors are illegal there. I also have a switch on the panel near the radio where I can quickly turn it off. I have also mounted an inside/outside thermometer above the detector and have the temp pickup mounted under the mirror. This gets it out in the wind and also shades it from the sun. I put a sun shield over the thermometer and that helps. With this bike being a standard, I made an aluminum cover that mounts the radio at a 30 degree angle to help keep the CD player from skipping when I hit a bump and it also makes it very easy to change CD's while riding. I also put a row of switches in the panel cover for added lights and the detector. This may be a bit different from some of the others I have seen, but it works for me. RandyA
  14. I'm starting to put together my winter project list, and one thing I would like to do is add rear speakers to my '91 Venture Royale 1300. A riding buddy has a Kawasaki Venture XII that has some sweet looking speakers mounted to the tour pack luggage rack. I'd like to do something like that, but I'm open to suggestions. TIA
  15. I would like to see how some of you have mounted your GPS's. Thanks.
  16. So often we post information in an effort to help someone who may come across the same problem. Well I'd like to say thanks. Been working on rewiring the passing lamps from the POs not so great job. They work great now with an on/off switch and relay. Thank You for the information on wiring the relay, where to pick up the switch-on DC tap-in. Same with mounting the Kuryakyn battery/volt led meter. I checked the voltage at the battery and at the dash cig lighter (less than .28VDC difference) and mounted it on the triple tree with the power at the cig lighter as suggested. Thank You, was easy after reading the posts. Mounted the Stebel horn using Carbon_One's bracket and wiring instructions. The forum helped with diagrams and experience from users on what worked best. So again I Thank You for your virtual guidance. I plan on checking my valves this winter. I already have printed out the 4 pages of instructions. Thank You but not because I've completed it yet. But because you collectively have given me the confidence with your past knowledge and guidence that I can do this myself with this virtual support teams help. Thank You once again.
  17. Just bought a new Avon rear tire and had it mounted today. The shop that mounted it told me that the tire needed 2 oz. of weights to make it balanced and that was very unusual and he even suggested I got a bad tire. On a side note, he tried to sell me something called dynobeads?. Anyhow, is it true about a new tire being bad if it needs 2 oz of weights and what is dynobeads?
  18. Would like to know how and where you mounted your GPS on a 1st Gen MKII. Pictures would be appreciated.
  19. I know there was a picture of a Hoppy mounted on an RSTD.... Apparently I am search challenged..... I am hoping someone has a picture, or an idea of where it can be mounted. Thanks in advance.. Robert C.
  20. Okay, the wimpy factory horn has to go. Too many close calls. I know the riders here have changed to after markets. Which one fits the factory mount/location? And has anyone mounted a horn in a front forward location? Thanks in advance for you comment/recommendations.
  21. I'm sure this has been asked, but, I'd like to add highway pegs to my 06 RSTD. I have no other accessories mounted down there....looking at Kuryakin...any suggestions on brands, models, mounts? Thanks!
  22. I have looked at everything more times than I care to admit, but my faux tank cover simply will not lock into place with the TCI mounted on top of the air cleaner box. The a/c box is properly and fully seated, the carbs are full seated into their boots, and with the TCI on top of the a/c, there is just not enough room for the cover to be mounted. So, I am going to return both the TCI and the boost sensor to the stock location. What a waste of time. But learn something new everyday. Atleast I found my b/s wasn't working at all.
  23. Hey guys. I have never given the pass seat a second though but The weather is getting better na dmy wife and daughter are wanting to ride with dad!. the pass seat on mine is mounted with one screw at the tail but this is not enough to keep it secure. the seat still moves to the left and right. Is there something that i am missing or is it that the rubber grommets under the seat are compressed and need to be replaced. While working on my buddys venture i noticed his seat had a whioel different bracket to mount to.
  24. After much deliberation, I had Avon Venom tires mounted on my RSV '08. The stock tires lasted a year (15,000 km). The point of my post is the warnings from the dealer: "Ride carefully for 100 - 400 km, as the tires are slippy. Be specially careful if it's wet." And I was asked to sign a waiver which confirmed I had heard their warning. I understand that tires have a compund sprayed on them to preserve them while sitting on a shelf. Surely there is something you could rinse the tires once they are being mounted to minimise that new slipperiness? It's showering this week-end in Vancouver, BC... kinda like April weather! So it may be a while before I can properly test the tires to see if Avons on a Venture are as good as they were on my previous two bikes.
  25. Been at the drawing board again. There always seems to be one more lil improvement that can be done. This lil creation takes care of two, maybe three things that I wanted to take care of. So not much fun in just saying what it so I'll just post a few pics and let ya guess. It's in raw condition now waiting for the epoxy to dry and will be ready for the final sanding and a few coats of paint and clear coat over the next couple of days. When it's done and mounted I'll post the finshed project. So have at it. Mike
