  2. I've been working on my bike for the past week, getting ready for the summer. I have some Ride On tire sealent. http://www.ride-on.com/prod_mot.asp Before I put this in the tires, does anyone else run with this in their tires and is there any down side?
  3. Havent had the time to be on the site much lately, took the bike out yesterday for a short spin, boy did it feel good since I havent been on it since Oct. Big Mike and I plan to get together on Sunday to go for a ride ( not sure where yet not that it matters ) So if any of you guys want to meet up let us know. It would be good to see some of you.
  4. This looks like it would be a great ride for any okie or anyone near Oklahoma. Please check out this site.http://www.westernoklahomariverroadrun.com/ You get 3 meals, 2 lakes and a good ride.
  5. I get to keep it.What a deal.My brother in law bought it.He is 70 years old and never had a MC license. He ordered new tires for it and they will get here monday then the bike goes in the shop.Anything wrong with it will ber fixed. He lives here but works in VA.He comes home about every third weekend. He wants to leave the bike in my name and in my garage till he gets his license. He said to ride it and not let it sit around. What a guy, gotta love him.He is gonna buy a 650 Vstar to learn to ride on.Said maybe a year before he tries to get his license.
  6. SPRING FINALLY MADE IT TO NEW YORK.....GOT A SHORT 50 MILE RIDE IN AFTER WORK TODAY.... THATS RIGHT HAPPY DANCE...NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THAT OTHER DANCE YOU DO AFTER A LONG RIDE...:moped:
  7. Hi all just installed the arm rests that I made for my ride. What do you think? Chuck http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh64/slowrollwv/2007_0408armrests0004.jpg
  8. The Motorcycle safety course was an option. http://www.funlol.com/funpages/good-motorcycle-skills-buddy.html
  9. ,,, what kind of mileage can I expect from my Michelin Commanders? Got them on over the weekend but haven't gotten it out for a ride yet.
  10. Geez, I know better than this! I pulled into my driveway after a nice ride on Saturday. For some reason, I had a brain fart and tried to do a u-turn at 1 mph so that I could back the bike into the garage. Well, I thought I could do this without putting my foot down so I ended up dropping the bike. At least I was able to practice the maneuver for picking up your bike from Ride Like a Pro! Good news is that nothing was damaged.......well, except my pride!
  11. Hey all, This is my first post. Mostly cause there is 100 feet of 2 feet deep snow between my bike and the driveway, so even thinking of the bike depresses me:-) What a winter!!! ( I walked out to the shed this morning and the snow is rock hard. Hardly made a footprint so no hope of shoveling it) I really like this site. I have found answers to many questions just by reading the forums. I ride an '07 Midnight Venture. Love the ride. Had an '85 Wing before and there is no comparison. My wife doesn't hound me to pull over after an hour on the road any more. Some days I can't get her off it... Question is: What is a good pump to get for the air suspension? Especially the front. They are hard to get at and because the pressure is so low, just disconnecting the air hose changes the pressure drastically. Tried the dealer here but they aren't much help. Thanks, John
  12. Spring is in the air and riding season is here ( at least in South Texas ). Last week the wife and I went up to Wimberly for a day trip. Round trip we put about 500 miles on the bike. The trip up was fine but the ride back I started getting sore. Even a 2 hour stop in San Antonio for dinner on the river walk didn't offer any real relief. Wifey did't complain much because all she had to do was sit there and look pretty. Which brings us to the meat and pataos of this thread... I' considering an aftermarket seat. I had a '01 Roadstar and I put a Mustang seat on it. It greatly improved the comfort. Turned the bike from a 45 mile a day ride to a 300 mile a day ride. However, Mustang does not make a seat for my Venture. You would think that they would considering the popularity of this bike. So that limits me. I'm thinking Corbin, but I've never had one before. If any one has any experience with them please let me know.

    2000 Rsv Mm

I just posted my 2000 Yamaha RSV MM again after someone had some interest in from this forum but I never heard back from him again so I decided to put it up for sale again. I really need to get rid of it because I don't ride it enough to justify keeping it. If anyone knows of anyone that is looking for one point them in the direction of the classified section. Thanks
  14. Here is a cute little setup I have never seen before, great for someone with younger kids learning to ride................. .http://i11.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/e2/27/6880_1.JPGhttp://i22.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/e2/27/8a84_1.JPGhttp://i23.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/e2/27/73a2_1.JPGhttp://i7.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/e2/27/7f45_1.JPG http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Custom-Built-Motorcycles-2006-Custom-Built-Mini-Chopper-with-Side-Car_W0QQitemZ280210310457QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280210310457
  15. Got home Thursday and all the snow had finally melted away. I could even find my driveway. Woke up this morning and we have another 6" of snow. I want to RIDE!!!!! Going to Orlando, FL on Tuesday for a sales meeting and trade show. Sure wish I could take the bike but it won't fit in the planes overhead bin.
  16. I UNCOVERED MY RIDE TODAY IN HOPE THAT BY CLEANING AND WAXING IT UP ,I COULD FORCE BETTER WEATHER HERE IN NEW YORK.. WHEN I SAT DOWN I HEARD THIS AWFUL SQUEEK UNDER ME..SOUNDS LIKE RUBBER AGAINST RUBBER. I CHECKED THE AIR IN THE REAR SHOCK AND FOUND 0 PSI. I THEN TRIED TO REPLACE THE AIR BUT IT JUST LEAKS OUT. WONT HOLD ANY..IT WILL HOLD FOR A MINUTE THEN ITS GONE...BEING THAT IM 35 MILES FROM MY DEALER ,IM WONDERING IF ITS SAVE TO RIDE IT THERE WHEN IT WARMS UP..ANY ONE EVER HAD THIS HAPPEN?
  17. Well I guess I have some thinking to do. Especially this year we have had so many accidents and lost so many that my will to ride has been kind ot shot right now. Ive rode once in the last 10 weeks and the last time was a month ago. Ive already started clearing the garage. The 1007 Honda shadow 1100 ACE that I customized will be on Ebay starting tomorrow and honestly im really thinking of putting the RSV up and selling it. Jebbles has spoken a few times of wanting to find a 1960s Mustang to restore or just get one ready to ride. Really been on my mind. Besides Ive been filling the time that I used to ride with fishing and playing with my 21" Mako. How can you get enthuiastic about riding if all you see are friends getting hurt. Now with GaryN and Leslie we have another seriously hurt and One gone to be with the Father. Makes me wonder how long before its me. With all the unlicensed Illegals and people who are in so much of hurry they just dont care how long before its mu turn? I live in an area that once was a small farm area and now every weekend we get the Cityiots (N Y City idiots) come out here to practice driving and I alone have had may close calls this summer alone. Im no really sure what to do yet but Ill let you know. Any interest in the RSV?
  18. As Spring approaches, I'm facing removing and dismantling my (4) carbs to remedy 1 that wasn't firing when I put my '87 up for the winter. This is not the first time for this. It's a termendous job that I don't look forward to. There's only 9000 mi. on this rig. I'm afaid the years are taking their toll though.Has anyone else faced this? What's the long term solution? I'm anxious to ride not wrench. If this keeps up I'll probably be logging onto a site like Ultra Classic Rider.Org or Gold Wing Rider. Org in the future !!!!!
  19. Getting ready to go to Panama City this sunday, this will be my longest ride so far. Went to Montgomery last monday, lot of fun! Took my bike in for the 600 mile service yesterday and noticed a noise coming from the rear, sounds like the tire rubbing on something. The dealers mechanic thinks it may be a brake caliper but Im not sure. The sound doesnt change when you apply the brake. Hope its not serious, I am supposed to pick it up saturday am. Also got my gps mounted yesterday, the folks at adventure gps in Decatur were great to deal with and had all parts in stock. Anyone know of a good ride around Panama City? My wife and I are taking 7 18 year old girls down for spring break so I know I will need to ride some to get rid of some stress!!!! They are all riding with the wife in her suv.
  20. Midrsv Curious as to if you are still planning a ride through the National Parks in Utah this year. Depending on work schedules, I would love to try to hook up with you. Dave:cool10:
  21. Hey all, After the snow storm that hit us last week, we were all begining to think that spring would never get here. Well had to work yesterday, got to the freighter at 0700, still a little dark and cold out, got on board, up to the bowthruster room and down into the engine room. Put on the classic rock and got to it, by 1300 had run out of things to do, so decided to pack it in. Got up on deck and WOW ! What a beautiful day, +7 C/ 42 F, sunny and next to no wind. Raced home, chizzled the ice from in front of the garage, wheeled out the scoot, a quick charge to the battery while I showered, and fired her up. Got the gear on, and headed out for a ride, drove down to Milton, around town, then the clouds moved in, and headed home. Was laughing and smiling the whole time, got a number of looks like I'd lost my mind from the cagers, but like the song says, " if you don't ride, you don't know ". Can't wait for the real thing to finally get here. Oz
  22. This letter is meant with the best of intentions.......the word dummy is used affectionately....I do care about all of you......and it is my goal this year to try to help some of you learn to ride safer....yea I am not an angel myself......have those times with I like to play too.......but this is important, I think you should listen to it.
  23. A friend of mine just got new rubber on his Shadow Spirit and decided it was time to go scuff them in, so we took off yesterday at about 11:00 am. It was already close to 60f. We rode up 575/515 to Ellijay, Ga and then took what we refer to as the Blue Ridge Bypass. It's a back road (Boardtown, I think) that comes out on hwy 5 past Blue Ridge. (Here is where I started feeling guilty! I thought "Man, I should've called Brokespur!" but we were already past his place. Sorry Ken, my bad!) We took a left and went up hwy 68, which is a great ride in itself, to Tellico Plains Tn. Grabbed a jalepeno burger at Hardies and jumped on the Cherohala Skyway. Great ride, temp dropped to 51, little traffic, only had to pass two cars the whole way. Just had to watch out for gravel and other "winter debris". There was a surprising amount of snow on the slopes on the south side of the road above four thousand feet. At one point there was a strip of snow/ice on the road that was about 5 feet long. I pointed it out to Gary and watched in my mirror as he proceeded to ride right down the length of it! Proves you can ride on ice and not go down. Also proves you go where you look! After that we rode up to the Dragon, the store is open for the season again. We asked about the conditions on the road and they said it is white from the winter salt and some places have piles a couple of inches deep. Even so we rode it pretty hard, you just had to keep an eye on things a little more. I only slid once on some salt. It was a superb ride up and back. Quite a few people there for a Thursday, but nothing like the weekends. We wanted to do another run but it was already 10 minutes to 5 and we wanted to make Bike Night at Hooters Canton. We were still 2 1/2 hours away! It was the first "Official" bike night, although a friend and I have been going almost every Thursday night thru' the winter, lowest temp we saw was 27f. Last night saw about 50-60 bikes. After Bike Night I rode with another friend to escort a lady friend, that rides a Road King, home before heading home myself. All in all I did 401 miles yesterday and managed to ride to the Sky, slay a Dragon, drink beer, look at some nice bikes and escort a lady home! (I won't claim to be a gentleman:rotf:) Man, it don't get much better!!!

  25. Hello from NW Indiana. (20 miles from Chgo) and thanx for the warm welcome. 86er suggested that I place this request in the watering hole and that someone(s) may be able to help me in my quest. I have been looking for a well-maintained (preferably low mileage) specimen of the 2000 Millenium RSV. (pearl white w/ tan seats). I currently ride a 1985 Honda GoldWing Aspencade w/ 62K miles. It is a great ride but its time for an upgrade and I love the look of the MM. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this Venture family. Jerry
