  1. Kury silver bullets will corrode as quick or quicker that many other lights. They are not quality I don't care how much you pay for them. You don't understand the inexpensive lights and I don't understand those red flames you have on the front fairing. To each his own!
  2. I had it once on another bike. I put a piece of tape over the head of an allen type socket head bolt and it stopped.
  3. Look here: http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/?action=category&cat_id=002005 Don't know why it does not go straight to it. Scroll to bottom click on Tech Libary than click on 99 to present then click on brakes.
  4. Did Kawasaki built the bike that Yamaha should have? http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/detail.aspx?id=379&content=details
  5. The book calls for 3.9 Qts. I use the long filter and put in 4 Qts. but don't let every drop of oil drain out of the bottles. I figure that is close enough to 3.9. I've got over 30K on the bike and just checked the filters last week and no problems with oil where is not supposed to be. I don't know for sure where it hits on the sight glass but I think just above the middle. Like I said I don't look at it too often and for sure can't look at it right now setting inside a crowded garage.
  6. I also see no need to look at the sight glass. Drain the old oil out on side stand, when it stops draining sit on bike and hold it upright for a minute or two then replug. Put in the 4 Qts. and a filter and go. Mine does not use any oil.
  7. After having my filters off for cleaning I experienced less than perfect running. Would not hold steady RPM was the main symptom. I found that upon reinstallation of said filters I had pinched/crimped a rubber hose coming off the top of the engine and going down thru a clip on the back of the filter housing. Got it back in the correct position and all was well. Check all hoses that they may have pinched or even left unattached when performing your service.
  8. Looking at the mounts you can tell they are made for a Harley.
  9. I once saw some inserts for the hinges in chrome or SS. One guy even was offering to monogram them. Now I can't find them, anyone know where they are offered? Don't have to be monogramed.
  10. Thanks Craig. And Silvr for the pic. I put this one in my sig and now I can't seem to be able to change it or even remove it. So it is not that I need a small picture but I need this one in my sig to be smaller or removed. Or I'll just have this reallly big sig picture and that is OK too if the Powers don't mind. I wish the power coated fender tips had shown up better. Already done the chrome thing with a Volusia and a VTX 1800. This Midnight came with so much stock chrome I decided to go the other way.
  11. Blacked out the fender tips, rear floorboards, rear crashbars, bag hinges, whindshield trim, trunk lock trim, and a few more pieces because I thought it had too much chrome. OK so then I wanted to put this pic as my sig but it is too large. So take a look and then tell me how to reduce it or just reduce it for me if you are a moderater and have the power.
  12. Same holder I have on mine. BUT being that the Zumo is made for left hand control I put it on the left side and the cup holder on the right. Try it I think you will find it is easier to operate that side.
  13. Wall Mart has it and they don't have to be charged just add the acid and go. Replaced mine in the parking lot. Why take a chance with an old battery when they cost less than a hundred bucks. I don't use tenders or chargers, if the battery gives any sign of weakness I replace.
  14. My Venture eats rear pads like no other bike I've known.
  15. Craftsman lift and two pieces of scrap wood. 1x4s and and about the as long as the lift is wide. Put them running with the bike and across the lift feet. I used this last sweek and lifted the bike up high enough to remove the rear tire and it stayed on the lift for several days. You just have to get around the two protrusions on the underside of the bike.
  16. It is the very same as your Volusia. The "one time use crush washers" will work more than once. No pressure inside to speak of. If you get a small funnel with a long piece of clear tubing to attach to the small end of the funnel it is easy with the bags on.
  17. The web site for this product is gone. It it no longer available?
  18. I'm at 33K and Im thinking about changing them because I do have a set on the bench. Also the bike is down for rear tire anyway.
  19. I think the Road Kings would be the least loud. They are hardly lounder that the stock pipes unless you drill them and still not loud at all.
  20. I disagree. You do not have to prove you did the maint. They have to prove you did not do it!
  21. Yep looked again and I see 4k also. Confused it with my VTX which does list 8K intervals. I wonder why oil last longer in a Honda than a Yamaha? Does anyone really think you have to prove you changed oil at the correct mileage to get warrenty work done on your bike. Mine has been in twice and they never said a word about my maint. I believe the only way to void a warrenty is if you install an aftermarket part that causes a factory part to fail. And then it would only be for that part.
  22. You have already ordered but the SOMA light bar is very clean application. Small and bright and has both run and brake lights. http://www.chromeglow.com/store.asp?pid=12781
  23. Are you sure about that 3000 miles requirement. This ( http://www.starmotorcycles.com/assets/service/manuals/2005/LIT-11626-18-37_983.pdf ) says 8K and syns should extend even that. I use a blend because I got it cheep on sale and go around 5K, longer if a lot of highway miles. I don't think any Dealer will ask you how long you go between changes to try and void your warrenty.
  24. I must have a slow 2nd gen. Stock HDs run even with me and Screaming Beagles pull away from me. My VTX 1800 is way faster and one friends built up HD pulls away from my X.
