Whew...! I just got done servicing the rear end of my bike...what a joy. I put on a new E3 rear tire, cleaned, greased and installed zerks in the lower rear shock mount hardware, greases the drive shaft, (the top splines were dry but clean). I got a tube of heavy, hi temp moly grease, (less than 6 bucks at Canada's handyman wonderland, Princess Auto), and lubed the crap out of everything. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet since my mufflers are in for repair. When I took them off, they sounded like they were full of ball bearings. I sawed the back off and bashed, beat and pried until the loose bits came out. I will weld it up tomorrow, (minus the crappy guts), and then wrap it in heat tape. It should be purdy... -
just saw kit carson post on the wing site. thought someone said he left the country. it was him. lives in n.carolina and is a self employed plumber, and sounded like one of his educated posts. he has an 08 wing. bill

Looking for slip on exhaust for my 2006 RSTD. Does not seem to be many available for this model. Looks like BUB and maybe Sampson are my only options. Are there any more Manufacturers out there? I did run into a guy whose Venture sounded pretty good who said he pulled off the ends, drilled some holes. Any ideas?

Vance & Hines or Bubs? I rode yamahamer's this weekend and he has Bubs, so I know what those sound like. I have only heard Vance & Hines on YouTube, but they sounded pretty sweet too. What do you think?

Got the new I basket installed today. Raining so I haven't had a chance to see if it made a difference or not. Brought the bike home in the trailer. Just driving into the trailer it sounded quieter. Will know in the morning when I ride it to work.

Got to thinking about it when Sledgehammer changed his name. Well, it seemed kind of awkward if someone were to shout across a parking lot, "Hey u-s-s-45!" so I thought about it and decided to switch names and Switch sounded reasonable and had a good ring to it so Freebird was good enough to change it for me.
