  1. Top Notch! Sure puts down some of the past "celebrities??" who destroyed the song with their improvisations.
  2. XM??, Sirius??? Have no idea what you're talking about. Is it television? If so, got rid of my TV in 1975 so have no idea about that medium now.
  3. When I bought my bike in Fresno, CA, I took I-40 all the way back to Memphis then south to Montgomery, AL. Made it in four days, near 2100 miles. I wish now I had taken my time and enjoyed the trip more by making some senic stops, ie, Grand CAnyon only 50 miles north off my path, etc. If you have the time, enjoy the trip.
  4. No need to make it complicated. I bought my '97 RSTD on Ebay from a fellow in Fresno, CA. I flew out there, paid him, notified my insurance carrier, got on it and rode it back to Montgomery, AL. His license plate was still valid. No big deal.
  5. According to my manual on the '97 RSTD it shows oil quantity as follows: Total amount: 4.6 US qt. Periodic oil change: 3.7 US Qt With Oil filter replacement: 3.9 US qt. Now, If the manual shows 3.9 quarts required if the filter is changed how does that add up to 4.6 qts total? But what I really need to know is, if I change the filter, how many quarts should I put in? Secondly, if I don't change the filter this time, how many quarts should I put in?
  6. I would suggest the Gulf Coast, Orange Beach, Alabama. Short excursions to Mobile for a tour of the battleship Alabama, and Mobile's beautiful old homes or even a trip to Pensacola and the interesting Naval Air Museum. All this in addition to the gulf itself and relaxing fellowship.
  7. Normally, an amber light is to give warning that the light will shortly change to red. If one is too far into the intersection to stop safely, then proceed on. This happened to me on a four lane road with a police car next to me. He stopped and I tried but couldn't. He stayed stopped while I went on my way. If I had stopped I'd have been in the middle of the intersection and apparently he realized that. Now, this brings up a situation with these cameras at intersections. It seems to be getting the public so tense that if the light changes to amber they slam on the brakes because of the camera. This could potentially lead to rear end collisions as most of the public follows too close to begin with. Any thoughts on that?
  8. I was on I-85 about 20 miles north of Montgomery and parked. A bike rode up and as the fellow was checking his map, I queried about his bike. It was a '99 RSV that he bought for his trip. He had put on 13,000 miles riding around the United States trying to decide where he wanted to move to from Florida. Maybe one of you has seen him in his travels; a silver '99 loaded up with sleeping bag, etc. and a guitar case sticking straight up from the passenger seat and strapped against the pass. backrest. I gave him the web address to this site so maybe he'll look us up.
  9. Ever heard of duct tape? LOL
  10. I watched all eight episodes and yes, he wants to sell his books but he also is revealing what is actually going on with the economics of the world and how they are run by a very few select people that want to control the world. I also watched part of the "Confessions of an economic hitman" and that pretty well confirms what Williams was saying.
  11. Reshired, Beautiful bike but you need some chrome guards around those saddlebags to set it off as well as protect the bags.
  12. It's always the right spot for some clean humor. Loved it!!
  13. I really like the design but it doesn't look like it would accomodate much leg room for people sitting there, especially if you have two to a bench.
  14. When we lived in Oregon a few years ago, heard the story over in Eastern Oregon about the ranchers getting tired of hunters killing some of their cattle, shooting before they properly identified what they were shooting at. Well, one of them found a ball of hibernating rattlers and with friends pitchforked them all and loaded them into a pickup truck. As they drove down State Route 395, every so often they would pitch some out. They didn't have hardly any hunter in that area that year. Guess they figured if there are that many "roadkills" how many would there be in the hills. That's one way to solve a problem.
  15. WOHOO!! Congrats to the proud parents
  16. Minorities We need to show more sympathy for these people. * They travel miles in the heat. * They risk their lives crossing a border. * They don't get paid enough wages. * They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do. * They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language. * They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day, every day. I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans; I'm talking about OUR TROOPS! Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops and are now threatening to defund them? Please pass this on; this is worth the short time it takes to read it.
  17. I tried a while back to get a meet and eat here in Alabama on another MC site and the only two that responded weren't even from AL.; one from MS and one from TN. So I gave up. I've been hoping for one here in AL for quite a while. I tried to make one in GA but they started so early, I couldn't have made it driving time. I need the fellowship!!! Marv.
  18. When I bought my '97 RSTD in Fresno, CA, I made it back to Montgomery, AL in 4 days, averaged 520 miles per day. My first long trip and on a Corbin seat, Wasn't too bad other than I had to raise myself off of the seat every so often for relief on the fantail.
  19. That's only because the gas hose hit an air bubble and shut off and you thought the tank was full then.
  20. Ruff, I wouldn't feel bad if it was only $632.00, Try $3500.00 for a whole new system. The old one was 33yrs old.
  21. Sorry, I guess I won't be able to make it after all. Had our home heating/air cond. unit to replace. Spendy. Maybe next time
  22. that sometimes I will see the whole sentence on the screen and other times I have to use the right arrow and scan a half-mile long sentence to get to the end of it on the right side of the page, then use the left arrow to get back to read the second line? Why, Why Why.... Just curious, not furious.
