I have coverage (period) This is to accomodate McBrush's dissertation on the irrelevancy of comparing coverage.

If it goes down again, you can always resort to the two tin cans with the string between.

Got to thinking about it when Sledgehammer changed his name. Well, it seemed kind of awkward if someone were to shout across a parking lot, "Hey u-s-s-45!" so I thought about it and decided to switch names and Switch sounded reasonable and had a good ring to it so Freebird was good enough to change it for me. Thanks much, Don.

Thanks, Eck, One of these days, I'll get up there and visit with you. Marv.

There was a thread in which someone asked about the map showing states that have been visited and the followup, I think by Freebird as to how to do it. I cannot find it now, any suggestions?

Going to Wal-mart or places like that, I usually park in the striped section next to the handicap parking but also close to the pole divider that separates the two aisles ( the spot where the two cars opposite each other are nose to nose) so that there is no hindrance to a handicapped person exiting or entering their vehicle. Works for me.

I have to agree with MarCarl's answer, plus, as an improbable but not impossible scenario, someday something might happen that caused offense to a group of 1%'ers and they corner you, then some guy comes out of nowhere and says "Hey, lay off him, guys, he helped me out of a jam one time." One never knows... As a retired LEO, and a Blue Knights member, I would probably stop and offer help. Never know when the favor might be returned. Besides, under all that swagger, leather, and tattoo's there was once a little boy of maybe three years old that fell and skinned his knee and ran home crying to his mommy. His life may have taken a turn but you never know what might bring him back. Stranger things have happened.

BTW, just wanted everyone to know I appreciate all the response to my question; Thank you. and Thanks to Freebird for all your work in this site. On my previous post, guess I just got caught up on Spear's dissertation on Australia and neglected to extend my thanks on the answers to my question.

When are you going to get rid of that mis-informed government and get your guns back?

I'm from Alabama and don't mind having anyone know. I've watched threads appear and disappear and read input from many Ventureriders. Some, it seems that I might click with due to similar interests, philosophies, occupations, etc. and if, within reasonable riding distance would like to meet them or get together for a ride. But there are so many that do not list the state, so how do I know who is close in distance and who is not. Makes me wonder. Is there just enough distrust within the membership that it makes a person antsy about putting there state along with their city or is it site policy for the protection of all members, "just in case"?

At the start of a thread, there is a date but on each of the contributor's messages to the thread there is no date, hence if I am scrolling a thread, I have no idea if the latest entry is yesterday or a month ago. Same with any entry (other than latest) if I want to quote someone and respond. CAn dates be added to each contributor to a thread to let us know how recent the entries are? Thanks, Marv.

A car without wheels is still a car... isn't that true??? So, a ferris wheel without seats is still a ferris wheel.

Fishtail Exhaust choices for RSTD
Switch replied to twowheeltexan's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
i have Sampson Fish Tails on my '97 RSTD and like them very much but get a lot of backfire on deceleration. Was told by Ward's Yamaha in Troy AL that with those pipes there will be a lot of backfiring (popping). -
I am 68 yrs old. I have been walking with the Lord since 1971. Twice in that time, I have had him speak clearly to me. The second time was about 2 months ago. I was on my RSTD and riding on the eastern bypass here in Montgomery in the center lane. I was approaching an intersection with a red light and there were two card stopped ahead of me. In my mind, I heard a voice that said "move to the right lane". I thought that was a good idea as there were no cars in that lane. I shifted lanes and traveled about 15 feet and heard a loud screeching behind me. So loud in fact that I involuntarily jerked the handlebars as I thought I had been had. I turned to look to my left and behind where the noise came from in time to see a car rear end the two that had been stopped for the light. Just a few seconds earlier I was in that lane. I hereby publicly acknowledge my thanks to God for watching out for me. Some may say the idea to move was my own as the right lane was clear but I know what I heard and it wasn't my own thoughts. No one can convince me any different.
