    SCHOOL - 1957 vs. 2010 Scenario : Johnny and Mark get into a fight after school. 1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best friends. 2010 - Police called, arrests Johnny and Mark.. Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it. Both children go to anger management programs for 3 months. School governors hold meeting to implement bullying prevention programmes Scenario : Robbie won't be still in class, disrupts other students. 1957 - Robbie sent to office and given 6 of the best by the Principal. Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again. 2010 - Robbie given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADHD. Robbie's parents get fortnightly disability payments and School gets extra funding from government because Robbie has a disability. Scenario : Billy breaks a window in his neighbour's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt. 1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a succe ssful businessman. 2010 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang. Scenario : Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school. 1957 - Mark gets glass of water from Principal to take aspirin with. 2010 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug taking. Car searched for drugs and weapons. Scenario : Johnny takes apart leftover fireworks from Guy Fawkes night, puts them in a paint tin & blows up a wasp's nest. 1957 - Wasps die. 2010- Police & Anti-Terrorism Squad called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, investigate parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated. Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again. Scenario : Johnny falls while running during morning break and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary . Mary hugs him to comfort him. 1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels bet ter and goes on playing. 2010 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy. This should be sent to every e-mail address to show how stupid we have become!

    My condolences to Johns family and friends. I too know what a dificult choice it is to pull the plug. Always there is that feeling that just maybe he/she may still pull through. I have had to make that decision with my own father last year, It is not a task I would wish upon anyone. May John rest in peace and may his familly take solice in the fact that he no longer suffers.

    Its good to hear from you Dano:thumbsup: Hope the pain thing etc. goes away shortly and you'll soon be your old trouble making self again.

    I think many of us have had to wear an eye patch for two or three days for one reason or another and we are all most likely very thankfull that it was for no longer then that. I could barely stand looking through one eye for half a day and as a result would take a chance and remove the patch. It does however make one appreciate a little what it must be like for someone who has to look through one eye much longer if not perminently. Best wishes to you Randy and hopefully all goes well for you in the long run.

    For once we have one up on you Yanks......If we don't want to ride for a year or 10 we just don't renew. When you decide to ride again you renew, unless you cross the ten year line then the bike has to reinspected by a mechanic and a safety certificate issued. Although now that I think about it I can't remember if that was an MTO requirement or an Insurance company requirement , I think it was the later.... However I would still prefer to pay you insurance rates and put up with your DMV headache then pay ours

    Same here, also if you did get a call, instead of hanging up, just let them know you want to be put on their do not call list. They are required by law to provide you with this option and to honour it. It seems to me also that Bell Canada not so very long ago received a major fine for ignoring the do not call list. Since then I have not received any calls from them.

    Because the same people who think it is better to spoil our children, then to teach them respect and discipline, also run our country. Think about this Quebec has fewer patients per Doctor and Nurse then Ontario, because Ontario pays for it, while Ontario health care continues to decline. All to keep a bunch of whiners happy.

    The 250 canam tnt I had, I rode from Oakville to Mississuaga through a snowstorm in 1977 about 12 - 16 inches of snow. The ride was not bad and the canam just seemed to eat right through it. It was at the end of the day when I was coming home after they plowed the roads that the ride became some what hairy. But right now there have been some nice days to ride to work, but always the chance that it could snow and I would have to ride home in it. So this why I was asking about the handling characteristics of a 1st gen on snow covered roads. P/S it is only 3 KM (2 mi ) ride one way.

    I have ridden both my 1975 CanAm 250 tnt and my cow-a-socki 400 in the winter time on snow covered roads, years ago. The TNT was ok the 400 not quite as good. The key difference, I believe was that the TNT had mild knobby's (enduro tires). Also both bikes are pretty light. So now I am curious to know about riding a 1st gen through the snow and what it was like in the way of handling etc. Yeh I know Tom ....You ..HATE SNOW!

    Sorry to hear this Randy. Better look after that good eye very carefully.

    After my bike was totaled in 2007, I rebuilt all the plastic with plastex. I reinforced it using drywall fiber tape. after the initial repair, I simply stuck the fiber tape over the crack and alternatly poured on the powder and liquid. It did a great job. the left front fairing is actually made up using the good sections of two fairings. The white tabs are made entirly of white plastex using a mold.
