Congrats. Beautiful scoot. Love those billet air filter covers. I'm riding a Victory Vision now, but we'll be in Eureka soon and all over hwy 7.

Ah, to be 21 again. I have no idea how people ride those but that's a great looking bike and congrats to her on her class and bike purchase.

Congrats! Nothing like a new toy. I'm sure you'll love it. Very nice bike

Since you ended your post with a "lol", I think you'll be able to avoid professional therapy, but I can only imagine the frustration. My favorite granddad, long ago passed, used the phrase that I try to adopt through these things............"and this too, shall pass", lol Hope it gets resolved sooner than later.

We do our best to pay a little more and fill up at "no ethanol" gas stations. Not always possible. I wonder if the ethanol is really regulated that closely. Would make sense the more alcohol in the unleaded fuel, the worse your mileage will be. Could be you see lowered mileage due to the quality of fuels.

Lol it's all about what trips your trigger. After a year on our RSTD, I feel like ive gone from a heavy, hard handling bike to an agile balanced one. My wife is elated with the inceased level of comfort for her as a passenger. I did enjoy the aggressive rpm fun on the Star for sure but for me personally, on the road for several days touring, I would not want to change back.

I got the same info from our local Honda dealership here. They felt with the boom in the cruiser market lately, they would not be able to keep the Valk's in stock. It's the bagged cruisers with removable trunks that are taking over for a bit now. I personally feel that Yamaha could win win with a water cooled BIG twin, fuel injected with hard bags, fairing and optional removeable trunk so a passenger backrest could be added.

Never ridden one but can only imagine it's a powerful, capable machine. Enjoy your new ride. Nice!!

We did the test ride too. I bought a 2011 Vision last Friday. Immediately took off on a 500 mile weekend trip. The transmission "clunk" sounds will definitely take getting used to as well as the difference in the RPM range and responsiveness of the V4 vs Vtwin. What I did notice is the balance, particularly 2 up when coming to stops. It's an incredibly easy handling bike. The comfort was fantastic. I had no fatigue whatsoever when we returned home. We rode to Eureka Springs for the weekend. I was a bit shocked at the intrigue the bike has to folks. We spent considerable time everywhere we were talking to the people that walked up to our bike. The "fugly" aspect of it, love or hate it, we really love it.

If you're still looking, I have a brand new black powercoated Venturedad receiver hitch. $100 shipped to your door. Sold my bike before I ever got to install it.

I've been there, done that, been burned. I posted my items with no canada shipping simply because I'm just an individual getting rid of some leftover parts and don't want to mess with any shipping outside the US; simple as that.

For us it's paradise on the rear! but to compare it to the pillowtop RSV, I can't. Our RSTD had a one piece Corbin saddle on it.

I've ridden with them. Was shocked to recognize the group. Got lucky on that one.

My wife isn't a Harley hater, she's a Harley "lifestyle" hater. I looked at a demo 2010 Ultra recently and REALLY considered it and wanted one. Thought it was a very well put together bike. Mama disagreed, lol. Traded the 06 RSTD this past Friday on a 2011 Victory Vision Tour. Love it or hate it stying, we love it and rode 500 miles last weekend. I really thought I had the perfect bike for me in the Tour deluxe. After touring the weekend on the Vision, I'm pretty sure I have the perfect bike for us. Good luck with choosing your bike

And remember to repeat that tire pressure check just before you leave and often during your trip too. Sounds like a great time. Hope u really enjoy it.

Best Light Weight Enclosed Trailer to Haul Venture
okiestar replied to birin's topic in Trailer Talk
How about a tow bar on the SUV and haul it with the Venture!!!! http://www.nhtrailers.com/single-motorcycle-trailer.htm -
Little caution here about running it with a bad fan motor. Unless you have a high end condensing unit, there's no "high head pressure" cutout for the compressor. When the fan binds and stops, the compressor has no choice but to continue running until it trips on the internal overload built in to almost every compressor. Very hard on it and once tripped, it will naturally cool and run again, and again, tripping each time. It's no secret the compressor is the $$$$ of the system. You can infact use a sprinkler on the coils but unless you have gauges on the system, there's no way to monitor whether the pressures are correct. You can easily cause a low high side, low suction side pressure situation and return liquid freon back to the compressor,,,also not wise. and yes, always replace the capacitor when replacing a motor.
