  1. I had an ice dam form and start leaking into my livingroom overnight, we awoke to find our couch and carpet soaked, and a hole in the drywall ceiling We may get a small ice dam every now and then, but , with all the snow we have had and a little freezing rain, it had blocked the ridge venting on the roof allowing it to create the ice. Just a little reminder to those that have the ridge venting, look at your roof, if you can't see that the ridge vents are clear, you may be next to have this damage inside your home.
  2. I have the HitchDoc on mine. With the draw bar removed you can't tell there's a hitch installed. I also had a hitchdoc on the Ace Tourer, both are well made and have nice chrome.
  3. That engine's internals look way to clean for this to be an issue of lack of proper maintainance. Hydro lock... no way and I see no evidence of detonation. It looks to me to be a materials failure. I have to wonder if maybe the piston skirt broke and wedged between the the piston and crank counterweight, causing the rod to fail. If you look at the last 2 pics posted, at the 7 O-clock position you'll see a small break where contact was made, that is what makes me have this suspicion. I think, Mama Yama will step up to the plate on this one.
  4. Dave, If I may ask, how many miles were on your motor when it let go ?
  5. More work, with less pay What's the point ? Unless you're just looking to put another feather in your cap. Now mind you this is coming from an old retired guy that's happy with odd jobs for beer and travel money. Best of luck, whichever way you choose.
  6. ME TOO 20-20
  7. SO, you're not denying the nitrous eh? I guess I won't be racing you for
  8. Yep, that is a new use. Now you need HEAT to get that red death coated stuff apart Putting in stronger rods that will handle the 200 shot of nitrous ?
  9. See post # 8 at the link below. Describes common rod failure causes. http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?p=3093500
  10. SHOVEL!!!! If I had to use a shovel, it would stay there till spring.
  11. I just stuck a tape in it, 10 inches and still falling ! And to think, 2 days ago I was enjoying a nice putt on the scoot
  12. What's the largest Kayak you have caught ?
  13. I have always done that when approaching cross traffic or left turning opposing traffic. Bright lights and weave. Don't forget to cover your brake when faced with this situation. Be ready.
  14. Muscle Cars and Mud Trucks
  15. Random number generators are highly over rated ! Number 11 is easy to remember and type.
  16. You can always bring them out here and run them on the lakes, we sometimes get 100 miles or more and never get more than 10 miles from the house. Were probably only 1/2 an hour from you at most. North to the end of Haggerty and you're almost there.
  17. You'll like the Tourmaster. Mine is comfortable, warm and waterproof. I have yet to need the liner, plenty warm without it down to about 27*
  18. YES I did . Got in a 110 mile ride today. The last one was new years day. Felt good to be out riding again, even if it's only a day or two. Carl, you can't ride snowmobiles in Livonia, can ya ?
  19. Oh well ! Guess I should look at the game before heading out next time. I passed one of those old crossbucks while out today but it's 50 some miles from here. Maybe next time.
  20. How's this ?
  21. I'm still in need of one. What do you want for it?
  22. Looked to me as though they are going for the BMW ST look. I could not ride it with that riding position, that's why I don't have a crotch rocket.
  23. I just welded up the broken one, it'll get me by till I find it's replacement. I agree, but, the cost of the plate is less that the cost of the fine for not having it ! If you still have it PM me your payment preference's
  24. My license plate bracket broke from the weight of the harley light. Does anyone have an extra bracket laying around that they want to sell? Otherwise it off to the dealer to order P/N 4XY-84751-00-00 @ $25.62 + tax
  25. When we went over the top in 08/2009, we were in T-shirts and still sweating. We did it again in 08/2010 and got snowed on twice, rained on, cold every day. It's a crap shoot with the weather on the Beartooth pass. Be prepared for anything. Same for our rides through Yellowstone.
