  1. Happy New Year Everyone: We were side lined more in 2012 than 2011 due to the death of both of my parents, but we did manage to make Sturgis for an entire week. Really enjoyed ourselves. The highlight of the trip was the suggestion to have a VR.org breakfast meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Sturgis Highschool FFA breakfast. We got to meet at least a 1/2 dozen more VR members in person. Thanks to Patrolman46 and TX2Sturgis for suggesting and planning the event. As far as 2013 goes, our wishlist is to make Kreg's MD and the International rally in Galena IL. We may not make Sturgis this year since it is right after the Galena trip? If anyone travels this way this season be sure to let us know.
  2. Thanks Jay! Same to you...
  3. Congrats. Thanks for the update.
  4. Sorry to hear this. Our condolences to Joe's family.
  5. Thanks for sharing Rick. 21012 was the toughest one yet for me. Lost both of my parents 60 days apart. Endured a summer long property cleanup and estate auction in 100 degree heat. Finally got some saddle time starting in late July. Enjoyed Sturgis and got to meet a few more VR members in person. I am considering stopping my side business in 2013, enjoying life and spending more time with my 7 year old Grandson. Hoping to ride more this coming season and hoping to make a few VR events.
  6. Congrats. Thanks for the update.
  7. Thanks Larry. Best wishes for you as well.....
  8. We visited friends in Pensacola in January of 2010. I was never so COLD!!!! Hope you have better weather than we did.
  9. It snowed last night in Western Nebraska. Kinda of surpised me. I owned a John Deere 110 just like Don's. Sold it on our parents estate auction last July. My brother and I bought it in the mid 70's. Quality stuff.
  10. Merry Christmas.
  11. Thanks for all that you do for us Don. Merry Christmas.
  12. Merry Christmas from Lee and I.
  13. Our condolences go out to Jay and his family at this diffucult time.
  14. Well said Peggy!!! Our thoughts exactly. This site makes owning a motorcycle so much more fun that it would be alone. Merry Christmas everyone.
  15. Sorry to hear of your loss. May your memories carry you through this difficult time. God Bless.
  16. Congrats on the replacement bike.
  17. Got a laugh out of both of your posts. Merry Christmas everyone.
  18. Hello Barry: You made the right choice in my book. Always play it safe. You got to ride some and you learned a few things along the way. Good day in my book.
  19. Hello Frank: Either bike is a great choice. I agree that both bikes especailly the RSV are top heavy. It takes time to master a safe riding skill to over come that. I also test rode both models and I chose the RSTD because it fit my 30" inseam the best. I have since added a Harley Tour Pak to my RSTD. I really like the set up. I am happy with my choice. It may be several years before I decide on a different bike. To each their own. Just my two cents.
  20. Thanks Joe: Same to you and your family from ours...
  21. No one rides alone with this group.
