  1. I can understand why a rescue group wouldn't want you to adopt a male dog if he was not fixed and your female wasn't fixed as well. As a former dog owner and someone who has worked with pet rescues in the past, what's up with these people? Why on earth is crating suddenly bad? I know rescue groups that encourage crate training to ensure dogs don't get bounced around in the rescue system their entire lives. On another note, spaying your dog can help with calming her down, it also reduces the risk of cancer, thus extending many more happy years with her tearing up the house!
  2. Yeah, when Joe's getting up for work I'm going to bed LOL.
  3. Instead of screaming at the companies about a policy change, contact lawmakers to close loopholes in laws that give criminals and their accomplices, and family members the ability to to sue a business they entered to pursue a criminal action. Your actions in telling lawmakers what needs to be done will not only help corporations change policies, but protect small business owners that are more likely to face the situation on a more personal level.
  4. Hubby works at Radioshack, I'm always concerned about the evening deposits, especially this time of year. but the bike makes him look less like an employee so far. I'll be glad when he's no longer in retail. When I did retail and did store deposits my parents escorted me to the bank while armed (the store and bank were both in a bad area) They didn't own the store, but they weren't going to allow me to go alone. Anyone in retail has my sympathies, especially with the responsibility vs pay ratio.
  5. This very common with retail businesses. The sad part is if an employee hurts a robber or someone else during the course of events, the business is legally liable and can be sued. These policies were put in place not so much to protect employees and customers, rather to limit the possibility of the lawsuits. If a business could not be sued by a thief, and their accomplices, we wouldn't have these policies in place or enforced as much at the very least.
  6. If I win can I trade the prize for a tailight for an 04 suzuki volusia? lol
  7. And I'm on the way south or north if you take I-75 down. I'm about 6 miles off the interstate, I can cook y'all dinner and hang out. Don't have a spare bed (sorry!) but there's affordable hotels nearby. If you want to rough it, you can bring an air mattress and snooze in the loft.
  8. Bad Tom! No Ice cream for you!
  9. My husband rides everyday unless we are both going somewhere and I or we need the car. I think Mike would ride in snow if I let him...not that it snows often down here. Some of you know that I just had a baby in Oct. Doc told me I was good to ride til the big day, and I did. As time went on (and I got bigger) I didn't ride as often. At my 2 week postop appt I was cleared to get back on the bike lol.
  10. Hmmmm I think this is an example why we should lock the ice cream away from Tom
  11. I got this in my email this morning and it made me think of y'all. If this isn't appropriate feel free to remove it or move elsewhere. http://www.westelm.com/products/st-jude-ceramic-owls-d390/?pkey=cst-jude&cm_src=productsearch http://www.potterybarn.com/products/st-jude-benefit-molded-mercury-glass-candlepot-votive-2012/?pkey=e%7Cst%2Bjude%7C3%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C3&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-&bnrid=3317905&cm_ven=AfCmtyCont&cm_cat=StyleFeeder&cm_pla=GAN&cm_ite=Std
  12. yeah, saw that, hubby looked and says impossible to play store bought movies....this is why we never got into bluray.
  13. let me check, I've installed a new to me flavor of linux called xbmcbuntu, I don't know if it has bluray support. I don't own any.
  14. I'm in the process of installing a media server installation of linux on my re-purposed media server, wanna come visit me? watch anything I have on the server from your computer! lol
  15. Mike and I will be headed to the boss' house for turkey day dinner. It's the tradition on the years I don't feel the joy of cooking a big meal for the 2 of us that we head over there to socialize and eat.
  16. You could always come to Georgia...while I don't have my own bike, I do have the gear and a helmet, I could show you around while my husband is at work. He'll only be jealous of all my free time. He won't admit it, but he dislikes me being the stay at home housewife who can at a moment's notice go riding with friends.
  17. Why not? The primary focus of the site is motorcycles, but questions like help with computers come up often in the watering hole. It's friends helping friends.
  18. GA has state income tax, and tag fees can be expensive but it's based on what each county sets. A more wealthy county usually charges less taxes than a poorer one.
  19. I probably won't be riding again til Dec or Jan sometime at the earliest but it's south GA, never gets too cold to ride lol
  20. There may be 2 of us in wheelchairs @ St Jude's...Lewis with his ankle, me with my surgery on the 27th. Which reminds me I may want to get out my walker just in case. Boy won't we be a sight lol.
  21. Lewis, if you can't use crutches well demand a walker, I know they stink and make ya feel old, but it's better than falling and getting hurt worse trying to use crutches. If I could I'd loan you my walker, but 2 hrs it a bit of a drive for either of us. Get well quickly!
  22. I or my husband can do the data recovery needed for you and definitely will not charge the geeksquad prices, so pm me and I'll give you the hubby's ph# and you can discuss with him what's needed and he'll give you an estimate on prices and what's needed before you mail off the drive.
  23. Hubby and I plan on going provided I'm out of the hospital before the date. I have surgery on the 27th and shouldn't be staying in more than a few days. I'll be moving slow but I'll be moving
  24. Annie, those mods are similar to what I need if I get to the point of having my own trike, at some point we should talk lol.
  25. Just go get a new hard drive, say on newegg or tigerdirect. Right now I prefer western digital drives over all others. I don't trust refurb hard drives ever. Basically if it's a refurb, it's been inspected and may or may not be ok. It's a roll of the dice. With a new drive you have a 3-5 yr warranty on replacement.
