  1. I'm well aware guns are better. His argument was guns give hunters an unfair advantage. I know what it's like to sit in a stand on a cold December morning. I want meat in my freezer. The does I have been seeing in my yard are so small it's sad. They barely stand to my midchest and I'm 5'6". Nah, the herds need to be thinned out. About ready to get a crossbow and start shooting them in my yard because they are plentiful. I can't shoot firearms in the county so I'd try that.
  2. Congrats on the home. So hunting season for us Ventureriders is when? Lol Seriously, I do need somewhere and someone to teach Mike hunting and all the rules. Legally I shouldn't. He wants to take up bow hunting, which I said was fine if he understood the work and expense involved. I don't think he does. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk

  4. There's an asthma med if you take it, it can cause shortness of breath, and worse, kill you. I was on it. I asked the doc abt it. She said the disclaimer was done because it primarily affects African Americans. I said but I have a family history of lung disease and heart disease...shouldn't I worry? Nope. I still quit it. 5. In 2008 I fell and broke my right ankle and left knee. My ankle was an immediate diagnosis. The knee was something I tried to address 6 weeks later. My ortho at the time refused to listen to me and released me from his care once my ankle healed. So I found another ortho who would listen and xrayed me. The xrays didn't show fractures. However, he agreed I had something going on. But he said return if I noticed swelling or pain. 4 months later at Christmas my entire leg swelled so bad I almost had to cut my pants off. So I go in to see him a few days later, a MRI later, there is a fractured knee. But the injury was too old for surgery beyond a knee replacement yrs from now. I sheared off part the thigh bone and took damage to my kneecap. He could never explain that injury to himself nor me in a way that was logical for a simple trip n fall for a healthy woman in their mid 30s. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  6. I agree with Dragonslayer on that one. I never take the loop. As he says, too many wrecks and lower speed limits too. I take 75 straight through downtown unless it's impassable from wrecks or road construction. Waze is your friend there. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  7. Actually the road was fixed last year, in May. So no worries there. The guys will be able to give you better routes for scenic rides around the state towards Daytona. As far as avoiding traffic delays, there is major road construction just south of the I-75 I-475 merger in Macon-Bibb and Peach Counties and you do need to avoid that. 1 lane traffic for about 5miles and its more like stop than go. There's a detour around it at the Sardis Church exit. If you want more detailed directions I can give those. I live here. Tricia Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  8. I'm a bit younger Puc and I want one of those sissy ladders! They are awesome things! I keep trying to explain to the hubs the awesome things they do and he just looks at me like eh? My Dad had one, unfortunately it disappeared after either he or Mom passed away because I couldn't find any of of his tools when Mom passed. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  9. Speaking of deer and motorcycles, here in GA yesterday a teacher and his wife were riding their bike when they hit a deer. They weren't killed by the deer, but a cager not paying attention to the people trying to stop the traffic to avoid a second accident. Sad. http://Http://www.macon.com/news/local/article176340561.html Then last night coming home from dinner, we turned onto our street, and 2 small does go hopping and skipping down the street in front of us. I finally tell the hubs I need a crossbow and need to sit on the door window like in the dukes of Hazzard when those does hop, and skipped into my yard. That would be some dinner time yum right there. He just shook his head no. He knows I went looking at crossbows, and yes, I know how to field dress, and clean a deer, and worked a deer cooler too. I'm ready....lol. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  10. I'm just catching up on this story. Dan, I'm so sorry your family has to deal with this. If it were here. I would be able to pull favors. But I can only offer you a shoulder to cry on. I hope your brother gets justice. I know too well how he feels. Tricia Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  11. Definitely prayers up for Florida. Stay safe. I'm hearing from some of the South GA peeps south of me that for them it's a bit scary with the wind. Mike and I are already buttoned down here in Middle GA waiting for whatever Irma throws at us tomorrow. We just hope we don't lose any trees. There's a few that are suspect trees we planned to take down this fall. But Mike ahead of Irma decided to move the van into the garage...we thought we would share the engineering.... yes there is a bike in there too lol. Kat Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  12. Hey, at least you are smarter than Mike. He waited almost 6mons AFTER the last Vogel to see about his knee. Both menscius torn and severe arthritis in it. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  13. Go look for VLC player for windows. It's a very good player I use for video. Now, my husband and others will suggest linux if you want to scrap windows altogether. And it is an excellent choice too. But it has its own learning curve. My husband or someone else may offer suggestions on which flavor of linux you should try. I won't. I don't play with it often enough to make that recommendation. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  14. I think folks that visit that cabin get jinxed too. Just saying that ppl for that have accidents that have happened to said vistors. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  15. Not me either! Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  16. As I'm a lady without a bike and do a lot of the mechanics for and with the hubs I'm probably more the enthusiast. That might change if he every gets a trike for me. But I probably earned it honest. My Dad and great uncle were bikers in the 50s and 60s. Dad had (I'm told at least) a '54 Indian he bought new and rode for almost 15yrs until my great uncle passed away, then he sold it. Even Dad didn't want me around bikers, which is odd, considering he took me to other places that were most definitely not the kind of places you wanted to take a child of a middle class upbringing to... but I digress. My other half is the casual rider mostly around the area and to and from work, and to and from the Vogel Rally since it's in state. Beyond that, he hasn't been too willing to travel by bike or otherwise. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  17. Here is an article on armadillos and leprosy for the curious since DragonSlayer brought up the issue.... http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/how-armadillos-can-spread-leprosy-180954440/ Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  18. Congrats on the new place. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  19. Bob, you and me both, had one miss my bedroom this spring by a few feet. Had it hit the bedroom it would have fell in my bed. Not a comforting thought. Also with me in it. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  20. Not only am I glad you are here, but glad you had a witness. Those intersections scare me. I'm a lot younger than many of y'all and I'm almost at the point I want to turn in my keys. Seen too many accidents over distractions. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  21. I have my Dad's old pocket knife. But his buck knives and related knives, were stolen when Mom died. I was livid. He made it clear those were mine to have and she was saving them for me. I managed to find his pocket knife in their bedroom after whomever in the family ransacked the house had overlooked it. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah Eddie was the best on bike insurance statewide. Hubs works at the farm bureau, but doesn't get a discount there... Geico is the cheapest car insurance for us. Even multipolicy discounts wouldn't have made rates cheaper overall with anyone...ain't that the kicker? I finally got refunded my deductible from my accident with the postman 2 yrs ago. Geico sent me the check yesterday. It was made out to the hubs...I was like wait a min now...who got hurt? Lol Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  23. I saw this stuff on facebook. And glad that even though the GEICO is in town here. (Some of the reps you are dealing with are likely friends of mine, sorry) we chose to insure the bikes through ediddy here on the forums vs GEICO. The cars are GEICO, homeowners insurance is through the Georgia farm bureau. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  24. I realize some on the forums are or were OTR. My connection was being married into a trucking family once. I have a healthy respect for anything that big. Meaning you will see me get down the road quickly around them at 80mph if needed. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  25. It varies from state to state. But Georgia does not require additional licensing for driving an RV. And I think it's crazy. I see how folks drive when they stop at walmart and other retail centers with their RVs and they scare me. I've had several come close to running me over while they were turning around because they weren't situationally aware of where my parked car was nearly took out a line of parked cars. One had me in it. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
