  1. And have many years safe driving! We had a really bad RV accident by my house in May. The Husband was driving and hit the left lane jersey barrier with the left front wheel and caused the RV to roll. Several local drivers immediately stopped and pulled the husband and wife from the RV almost as soon as the accident happened. But the wife got some pretty severe burns and died a couple of days later. That RV was fully engulfed in less than 5mins. RVs are really nice. But I'm so scared because it's like driving a semi without the training and the mistakes can be deadly. Be safe folks. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  2. I was 26 when I got my license. Which here is a necessity. Mass transit doesn't travel all over the city or between this city or the one 20 miles south. (which is a huge local complaint, this is a big metro area with commuters between both cities) I didn't want to have the responsibility of a car or driving, or the whatif I had an accident and hurt or killed people. I have a limited number of years behind the wheel before either mental or physical impairment force me to stop driving. Been lucky so far, only accidents thus far have been parking lots oops and the mailman hitting me. ( he was doing abt 60 while I was stopped at a light, speed limit was 45mph, that was awesome let me tell ya!) Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  3. Mike was always the accident prone. Every dent and scratch on MY caprice is from him. He would even go off road in the thing when I said not to. I said it's not a jeep or a truck....still did it....notice it's still parked! Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  4. My husband is 38, I'm 43. When we met he didn't know how to drive stick either. His Dad can't drive stick either, he knows how, but strips transmissions, so the lessons were not passed on. I know how to drive stick, but my cerebral palsy makes it difficult to do it comfortably. At some point more than a decade ago the hubs needed a pickup for a job and I sourced him an '79 F150 that was a stick. We bought it and before we left the lot I had to teach him how to drive stick. The sales guys were laughing their asses off at the role swap. He's gotten very proficient at stick these days and prefers it to auto. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  5. Where I live here is the law regarding scooters and mopeds. However, I live in the "country". The nearest grocery store is 6 miles away. Which happens to be Walmart lol. The 2 roads that go towards walmart are GA 74 and US 80. Both are 55mph (routinely everyone does 65-70 on both) so I'd get creamed at 30mph. http://www.dmv.org/ga-georgia/other-types.php Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  6. I need that, but it needs to do 55mph to make it to walmart. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  7. Part of cooling my house here in GA is running a dehumidifier 24/7 Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  8. I love toying with salesmen. When I needed a new car Mike sent me looking for a "new" car he told me to find a 90s model caprice that was unmolested and still factory original. I did at the last dealership I went. Sticker was $10500, salesman offered it to me for 8000. I looked it over and it was clean. He admitted it needed a new radiator and springs on the rear which they would do when someone bought it for no extra cost. I brought Mike back a couple days later. He also liked it, the salesman couldn't remember what he quoted me, I told him $6000. He put it on paper for the bank before he realized his error. Too late, it was binding and I was off the lot and at the bank. Muhahahaha As a sales person I chose to never bs customers, better to be honest than lie through my teeth. 9. Mike, I'm down in Macon, if you need anything ask. Lawrenceville is a hop away if needed. But you do have my prayers. Tricia Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  10. When my hubby was thinking of taking up riding a few yrs ago he wanted to give all bikes a fair shake. The Harley dealer is next door to the Not Harley dealer (they sell almost everything else) so we went to HD 1st and looked at bikes and sat a few. And after the 4th or 5th bike a sales guy told us we weren't their type of ppl and to get off the bikes and leave and come back when we were ready to be real Harley people. Mike said some choice words and told the sales guy if he never bought a bike he'd be ok with knowing he didn't own an HD based on the level of customer service they showed him. He ultimately bought the Volusia from a private owner, but he refuses to buy HD. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  11. My condolences on your loss. I understand your feelings. One of our close friends is experiencing this level of loss in his family. 2.5 yrs ago his wife passed. Last year his son passed the day after his birthday. His Mom, this past Dec. Last week we lost his younger sister. His sister and I were friends so her passing is hitting me hard as well.
  12. I have a couple of friends who are graphic artists. If noone else here steps forward I can talk to either of them or both and ask they touch base with you. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  13. I wish there was family cookouts! I'm a generation out of step so to speak. My Dad if he were living would 97 this year, Mom would 79. Both have been gone a long time now. I turned 43 2 weeks ago. Yes, I have half siblings but the age difference never went over well so we never got along. All the cousins I grew up knowing have long since passed. I would relish those days again in a heartbeat. Especially if I could share the sense of family I had growing up with a husband who only knew to watch his back in his own family. 14. I'll repost on Facebook just to see if some sleepy folks there will call ya. Hope you aren't stranded long. Tricia Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  15. Mike and I haven't formalized our plans yet either way. We still want to go if things happen, but we would probably drive up early Fri and come home Sunday. We might be moving about 1st of august and combining households so its a bit up in the air yet if we can get away then to enjoy visiting at Vogel. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  16. Living here in Georgia as I do, we hear a lot about the Allman bros. I live across town from where 2 are buried. Locals have known for a yr that's he's been very sick because he's been cancelling tour dates and making trips to the mayo clinic since last yr. His death wasn't unexpected here. It's still sad. 17. I'm so sorry Charlene is in pain. Hopefully she can find relief before Vogel without surgery but knowing some of her history I completely understand. Give her a hug from Mike and me and I hope she feels somewhat better soon. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  18. I agree, heal up and yes, your guardian angel was looking out for you. Follow all the doc's orders. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  19. That bites, but understandable. It's in the air if Mike and I can make it this year. We want to go, but the insanity at home might keep us here this year. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  20. Not coming to Vogel this year Annie? Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  21. You aren't allowed to leave! But understand the reason to sell. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  22. I wish we had the ability to make a road trip up there on short notice. Unfortunately I'm scheduled to go house hunting tomorrow evening. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  23. Huge for me is 50+ acres, however the homes Mike and I are looking at are around 3/4 acre - 1 acre. Still a bit more than a push mower should do. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  24. Depending on what happens today, I might be gleaning advice in the near future on mowers myself. Cuz I might be mowing a huge yard lol. Yeah, me. Mike's allergic to everything environmental. Yesterday he started his allergy shots that he will be doing for who knows how long. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  25. I gladly absorbed everything of my Grandmother's and Dad, they worked a lifetime each to have those nice things. I just hate they sit in a storage unit waiting for me to buy a house big enough to put everything in. The other option was allowing my half sisters (Mom's kids) to ransack the house after Mom died and take what wasn't nailed down and sell off stuff and keep the money. Which they did for a lot of smaller items like My and Mom's jewelry. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
