  1. If school wasn't starting back, I would say bring the kiddo along, my kids have attended Vogel, Skid's kids have attended Vogel. Everyone knows how to behave around the kiddos and we have enough Moms around that might not mind taking the kids for a walk around Vogel State Park for a afternoon, if needed. I know I probably won't be riding any distance this year for health reasons. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  2. Does this mean we will see more of you in our part of Georgia then? Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  3. I retired at 26 on disability. It sucks. I wish I could still work. I feel I missed my best working years. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  4. Mike and I will do our best to come this yr. I don't think we will bring the bike this time. I haven't been able to ride almost since the last Vogel and not sure when I will again. Also we are going to attempt housebuying this year so that might affect our plans, but we would enjoy seeing everyone again. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  5. I'm on Cox, I have a choice, Cox or AT&T. We have a data cap on Cox. I forget what it is. We went with DirectTv for Tv because we had a better channel selection and it offered us a way to free up internet speed since digital cable uses the internet to transmit information to the cable box. My IT husband will never use AT&T because it's too slow, and insecure. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  6. My prayers for you and her. I lost a very good friend to pancreatic cancer last yr. Sounds like they caught your brother in law's in time. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  7. You need to go to the VA tomorrow Bob. Yeah, you tweaked muscles. But you might need a strong muscle relaxer and a good once over before you do more damage to already sore muscles. Don't have me fussing and worrying tomorrow over you now. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  8. You coulda messaged me. I coulda found you a battery a lot faster and got it to you I'm sure without needing a tow all the way to dothan. But glad you made it safe. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  9. That sux. Thank you for the heads up. Will investigate further. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  10. I've had cats that could tell when I was going to be sick and were/are the sympathetic lot. My husband learned to gauge the level of emergency around the way those cats reacted to my being sick and it was always spot on. Even the new kitten we adopted a few mons ago is a mother hen. He will make sure our senior cat gets some laps around the house, then he chases her to her food bowl, followed by checking on me if I'm home. If I don't have a drink, then he goes to the fridge and rattles the cabinets to make me come. So I'll usually get a drink then, makes him happy lol. So not all cats are bad. 13. And they just announced at the DA press conference that the 2nd officer passed away this afternoon. End of Watch Daryl Smallwood 10-08-2016 EOW Patrick Sondron 10-06-2016 Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  14. I figured Atlanta news might be reporting differently than locally. Even the family that called 911 feel horrified at the outcome. They never wanted officers to die over a neighborhood dispute. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  15. Actually Bob, the police locally say he was harassing all the neighbors, the biggest beef was the neighbors who ultimately called 911 on Sunday. The media might be saying he's a victim, I'm not sure. The police privately say he has harassed the entire neighborhood the last 4 years and has gradually escalated in anger. He's had a reputation with the sheriff's dept for nuisance calls and terroristic threats but not enough to get arrested. I have friends in the sheriff's dept, but I knew neither officer personally. It's not my county, but I have friends and family all over down here, many in law enforcement. It is personal. I could be burying one or the other. Last month we had a teenager murdered by his classmates here. It was sad, horrific really. But last name didnt ring bells I thought The news outlets broadcast the funeral and I see his Dad on tv. Mike and I do board game weekends with him. So much loss here. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  16. It's not looking good for him. Publicly he's fighting for his life, my sources in the sheriff's dept says the docs are allowing the family to have closure. The deputy has minor children but is divorced. Without being too graphic, both officers took a bullet to the head point blank. The officer that died Sunday was the 3rd or 4th officer killed in the line of duty in Georgia this year if I understand. The 3rd this year from my area of the state. 17. Yep, in our case those poor office saw the mailbox had a thin blue line sticker and probably thought they could let down their guard. Nobody here wins. Not the officers, their surviving families, nor the shooter or his son who is also a deputy and is caught between a rock and a hard place. The son will have questions to answer in the coming days. His father was wearing police grade ballistic body armor at the time he was taken into custody. The residents definitely don't win because they no longer feel safe nor do they feel their kids are safe. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  18. Getting crazy? It got crazy ages ago. Irony is everyone I know left the city I live in because of all the crime and violence and maybe 15-20 families settled in that subdivision thinking they escaped the dangers we all grew up with. It all came home for them Sunday evening when many of them sadly saw 2 officers (some of them knew the officers) get gunned down by another neighbor who has according to witnesses has been difficult the last 4 yrs, but has only escalated in threats since August. 19. Sunday one of the rural towns a few mins south of where I live was rocked by a cop killing. This community never has any violent crimes like this. Sunday afternoon someone in the neighborhood called the Peach County 911 center saying a neighbor brandished a rifle on their nephews. 2 deputies came and took statements from them before heading to what became the shooter's home. One officer lost his life at the scene. The other is fighting for his life but to be honest, it's not looking good for him either. To make matters worse, the shooter is the father of a deputy in a neighboring county. Pray for these families, our men in blue, and this small town community. http://www.13wmaz.com/news/local/update-one-peach-deputy-killed-2nd-in-critical-condition-after-shootout/348835546 http://www.13wmaz.com/news/local/peach-deputy-on-life-support-after-sunday-shooting/349304262 Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  20. Prayers up, and hope his recovery goes well. My Mom had the same surgery 20 yrs ago and recovered well despite some post op complications. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk

  23. Those of you being told to evac, please do! Need a place to stay. Let me know. I have a sofa and an extra bedroom in Central Georgia. It's not fancy. But it's safe and dry. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah, sorry Mike and I couldn't make it this year, call it this pesky thing he has to called Work. One year maybe we will make an event other than Vogel. But considering I dislocated my shoulder falling out of bed then other week I'm not sure I would have been up for the ride even if Mike had the time off or not. Hope everyone has a great time. 25. No, I'm from Georgia, someone local to me did some digging into the background of the story. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
