    2016

We are just waiting on the rain to stop. Lol. In reality we kinda take it one day at a time, especially with the mess of my father in law. Bummer side of it, we have to tell the roomie today or tomorrow that he needs to find a new place to live asap. If you hear yelling coming from Central GA, it's probably him throwing a tantrum. 3. I'm very glad to hear it wasn't a stroke and was an attack of bell's palsy. Neither option was good, but glad of your outcome. After my week last week, I have had my fill of strokes and dementia, and the long last effects both have on family. Please get well soon, and please take time for yourself. 4. Merry Christmas everyone from Mike and me. Enjoy your holiday! Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  5. I was in an auto accident in October, the lizard wasn't great on the accident side. I got the traverse back last Fri with more problems than it went into the shop with. It looked ok, but it had electrical problems, and long term, who knows how safe it would have been to be in another accident. So Mike traded it for my new impala. However, a 5 day repair job took 2 mons because my claims adjuster and inspector took their sweet time getting the paperwork taken care of and submitted. Oh, and my accident caused my rates to go up. Wasn't my fault. Down the road Mike plans to shop for insurance again. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  6. Would you believe the 2.5 4cyl was $4000 more than the 3.6 v6? And only a few months apart in age and less than 25k in mileage difference. And both had less than 30k on the odo, no, I think I got the better car lol. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  7. We have a 96 caprice with the 4.3 v8, it has been bulletproof. It has some age related repairs needed but all in all been a great car. We hope the impala will prove to be the same. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  8. I have gotten a lot of things this yr. This is by no means in any special order. I got the confirmation that I don't need to worry about the problem with my brain at least for now. That was a huge blessing for us. Mike got us a new tv, a 65inch 4k thing of awesomeness. Then yesterday he bought me a new to us 2015 chevy impala. I hope to get a lot of enjoyment from it. The tv was meant as a shared present this year, so that was really a gift we both enjoy. Now I hope that Christmas with the family goes as well as Christmas at home has. 9. Old cars are special, they carry a lot of memories. I'd love to find a 67 caddy or a 72 chevy custom deluxe to fix up, both were favorites of Dad's and carry a lot of special memories for me. Sorry to see the dart go, but understand the need to thin the herd. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  10. He doesn't like not being in control of the car, he's the same way when his Mom drives (with good reason)and after we noticed the dementia setting in with his Dad. With me, it's more about the whatifs, he knows I'm a very good driver, but accidents happen and I may not have a good outcome. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  11. Mike took your suggestion to heart about getting the v6 over the 4cyl, they are different cars I swear. Now for those who do know Mike, can you just imagine him being white knuckled as I was driving around town and on the interstate in the crazy Christmas shopping traffic this afternoon? He swears he wasn't scared, but he has never allowed me to drive when he had to be a passenger save after his car accident. It was rather funny seeing him sweat bullets today lol. 12. Yes, so far it's a nice Christmas this yr. Mike said I wasn't spending a day in the traverse, the shop fixed the body, however, there was an electrical issue that wasn't fixed, and very definite gear whines after taking turns, that weren't there before the accident. Given that the shop had the traverse 2 months, we felt those things should have been fixed, but he'd rather get me a new car than argue that the problems weren't preexisting to the accident. Our only argument was getting a new 2015 impala or used. I argued for used, he argued for new. I just couldn't see taking the depreciation hit like we did on the traverse. I won! Sides, the impala we brought home was the only v6 anywhere in Middle Georgia. Go me! Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  13. As many of you know, I was in an accident in October. My traverse was in the shop since the wreck, well it came home yesterday. This morning Mike traded it in on a 2015 chevy impala. He said it was time I had a better car than the traverse. The impala is pretty. Black with a grey interior. 3.6liter v6 (should have been a v8) but handles like a dream. I drove it all over town and it did beautifully, will take me a bit to get used to it still. And I know the rule, pics, but it was too dark for Mike to get any good useable pics of it. 14. I have survived a house fire ( I wasn't home when it started). It's scary and disheartening. I'm glad noone was hurt, sad to see the loss of property, however at least it wasn't your home. If I were closer I would offer to help, but Canada is a bit far away. Take care, and I will say a prayer. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  15. I'm sorry to hear there was a death in the family, Christmas is never the same after deaths in the family. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  16. Dan, I only go to sleep early when I take my sleepy meds, otherwise I'm awake for days before I crash, sorry to burst your bubble there Dan lol. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  17. Probably not, just a brain box that was made too small to hold it all in lol. Apparently I didn't get the upgraded model that fits exactly. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  18. In the medical saga that is my life I tend to have to deal with the oddball medical stuff. In Sept I was diagnosed with a chiari I malformation where my brain extends too far down into my spinal column. I saw the neurosurgeon about it today. He said no surgery and no monitoring it until I become symptomatic, if I ever do. Yay me! For once in my life I'm being told I don't need surgery to fix something. That was the most awesome news I have had all month! Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  19. I have no idea how many times the Venture changed hands before we got it, but we weren't lucky enough to get the original toolkit with the bike, so a lot of this is live and learn.
  20. Since I was 26 (2001) I have had medical problem after medical problem, I rarely catch a break, some are minor, some not so much. Because I was born with cerebral palsy I learned at a young age I'm not immortal and every day is truly a gift. I stopped living the safe, quiet life ages ago. I live for me. I drive fast, sometimes too fast, but living is a risk, and I'd rather enjoy what time I have with a good quality of life than wishing yrs from now that I had done more. One year I hope Mike and I can take the time and travel Europe. It's been a long time dream. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  21. If I don't chat with you before Thursday, good luck Jeff. I see the neurosurgeon on thurs about my chiari, so seems to be an important day all around. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  22. Jeff is having foot surgery on thurs too. He very well might not be able to get the saw himself either. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  23. You also need an 18mm thin walled socket made especially for removing plugs. I figure you might know that. Don't ask me how much trouble I had finding one of those when the plugs needed to be checked. I went to about 6 or 7 stores looking for it after the hubs went to 2 stores. I found it at Sears finally. Lucky me! Good luck! I didn't find the job too hard after taking the plastic off. If I can do it, so can you. Puc gave you very good tips. I'd say from the gas tank down and fwd are the plastic pieces that need to come off if I remember correctly. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
