I'll ask the hubs if he's willing to make a VRO screensaver program. If he says yes I'll probably be asking for user submitted pics.

Apparently all of you forgot about me....another redhead.....depending who you talk to, I'm either scary or adorable.

Yup, I think there's a 1st gen in the semi near future (May/June). He says thank you for all the prayers, it likely helped.

This is Mike's 1st bike and thus the 1st set of tires was other ppl telling us what was best. He never liked the way the tires rode and felt, and said on this next set he wanted to try the dunlop 404 or pirelli mt66. On the volusia forums the pirelli have been well rated, but the 2 local bike shops that I know the owners of told me no. One told me last night (he's a facebook bud) that he refused to even sell me pirelli, he's just never had good luck with them. The bike shop we normally use to ask the newbie things and such agreed to order a dunlop 404 for the bike, will be in tomorrow, a friend that lives down the road from us (all of 10 mins away) is going to stop by and help me load the bike on his trailer thurs and drop the bike off to get a new rear tire, the shaft drive lubed and the speedo sensor checked In a couple of weeks a new front tire. The deciding factor this time against ordering online is the shop gives us a line of credit. Likewise they have a credit line with us when they need their shop computers fixed or the network repaired. In the future I think I might start buying new tubes and rimstrips to keep on hand. Mike's lesson for the week....verify tire mileage... and when the new guy at work says "Bro, Aren't your tires a bit bald?" Maybe you need to take a good look... lol I'm just glad that we didn't have a blow out Sunday, and got to and from work safely. Neither Mike or I profess to know about bikes, but what I glean from the forum gets passed to him. Yeah, I'm a bit hard on him here (he's not watching the thread today) but I feel as much responsible for this as he. I should have looked the tires over once I felt that weird we're hitting a pothole feeling. However, now that the new guy at work has a scooter (chinese burgman/silverwing clone) I think they be looking out for each other on maintenance.

Mike wants me to brag that he believes he got nearly 15k on that tire.... he can't say that for sure because the speedo has been acting up since nov. Anyone who wants to call him and chew him out personally....pm me for his phone number Warning...he might threaten murder on me for the last bit

one is 11miles, the one across town from that one is 13 miles, the only other one I've dealt with is 2 hrs away. Other shops we've used have closed up.

Mike might kill me if he sees this, but goina post the edited pic of the kenda kruz rear he has right now on the bike....and to think we were both on the bike yesterday...sheesh. The new guy at work told him the rear tire looked a bit bald and asked him when he checked the tire last, today as he walked past the bike when he was loading the car, sunlight caught the metal gleam on the cords. Yes, the bike is grounded til I get the tires changed, yes I've called around to a few places looking for a tire. I haven't the 1st clue HOW to get the rear tire off myself, and unless someone comes to the house with a trailer it's unlikely I'll get the bike to any shop on my own (Do we want me to try my maiden voyage riding on that tire?) lol I've messaged one friend down the road if he has a truck and trailer I can borrow to get the bike towed if I need it. Yes, I'm grumpy and annoyed at this, but it is at least an annoyance, and he better not do this again if he expects me to ride again...

Ok guys, Mike needs a rear tire...unexpectedly... I know I need a tire, the rim strip, what else? I called the yammy place a few mins away and they will get me squared away. they quoted me $230 for both tires (pirelli mt66 tires) and $120 to mount both. I can't afford both this week so rear comes 1st, on or about thurs. I'm price comparing online so let me know.

Vogel is scheduled for Aug 14th-18th and is awesome! Mike and I hope to drag along more people this year.
-
Come on Tom, you can stay at my house on the way there and we can all ride up together, gotta be safer in groups than solo?
-
Nor Mike and I....
-
Walter told me of this yesterday....best wishes from Mike and me.

I can say to the best of my knowledge Mike nor I can make it (Saturdays are the hardest days to plan anything with Radioshack) Now should anyone feel up to riding down to Warner Robins around the 1st, I may need hands available to move bedroom stuff. I was looking to just buying a secondhand dresser or 2 but we figured out it will be cheaper just to grab the queen bedroom set from storage and clean it up. At least the 2 dressers are on wheels....

My Day Training with "Ride Like a Pro" Jerry Palladino
GAWildKat replied to Barrycuda's topic in Watering Hole
Mike doesn't know it yet, but as soon as I can afford it and he can get the time off I'm going to sign him up for the Atlanta class. I went to that site and saw the statement of..."Do you wear through your boots before your tires" Mike's been through 2 yes 2 pairs of boots since 2011 when he got the zuki. So I know he's either buying bad boots or doing something wrong.... -
I'm Georgia born and raised...like Boomer, my husband left the great frozen north and has no plans to return...ever. He said it would take a great need to make him want to return to Connecticut.

Or Connecticut.....

Not to hijack the thread, Mike's been wanting me on my own bike every since he got the bug, and I'd love to do it. However with my cerebral palsy we thought it might be better to get something like a a burgman trike and move the throttle control to the left hand since my right if my weaker hand. Thoughts on this? I'll likely have whatever I'm getting late this year, early next if the plan gets that far.

All the furniture we own save the computer desk, a folding table, some shelving units, my dvd storage, bookcase, 2 5ft tall nightstands and the mattress set are here, plus my kitchen, bathroom and all Mike's computer crap upstairs. I can move everything here but the bed and nightstands myself, and have the last 2 times. if I had to add the contents of what's in the storage unit to the list....I'd be begging for all of you lovely ppl to send help, all the furniture in it is more than I can manage alone or with Mike, we tried it once, never again. .

The silliness I have heard about being a married couple is the drama and spats couples have. I'm not going to lie, when Mike and I were younger we did our fair share of that, but a lot of things have changed and after his car accident on the job and head trauma, much of that just became unimportant. Yeah, sometimes we still get on each other's nerves, a stressful day can make tempers flare, but it's over and done quickly. I also looked at 2 places today, one was a guest house setup, and the guy wants $800 ASAP to move in. I just paid the rent here on the 2nd...other than small expenses, no cash til 2 weeks from now. The other place was a house situation where a younger laid back guy needs a roommate or 2 just to make the house feel less lonely and is willing to let us pay into the 1st month's rent just keep things reasonable. Mike plans to go see it and give his thoughts, but that may be the winner. I've been offered the use of a truck, both through VRO and friends. All I need moved by truck is my mattress set and my nightstands. I don't think any begging will get my bedroom set pulled from the storage unit. Everything else can be moved in the car, easily. I just hate the packing and moving part, much of that will be left to me to do because Mike's schedule isn't usually conducive to assisting with things. We'll get it done though.

Mike interviewed this morning....he was told in the last interview he wouldn't be interviewing with the dept heads until the final interview, which could be interview 3 or 4 depending how many prospects went to this round. Looks like more people got cut after the 1st interview than they expected. Mike met with all the dept heads this morning and seemed to have impressed them. Despite our news last night about getting told to move, (roomie was near tears over it) Mike was in good spirits when he came home and thinks he has the job.

everything but the mattress set and nightstands fit in the car....over a few trips depending on how far we move, I may just rent a uhaul again, this time should be one trip by uhaul. It's likely this will be a blessing if Mike gets the internship, most of the for rent places are located near that job. The commute to Radioshack will likely be a lot longer.
-
That shouldn't be much trouble, the hardest thing we've faced is ppl not wanting married couples because of the suspected drama, when in reality we are 2 geeks that kinda keep to ourselves.

Mike and I learned tonight we are moving again. Nothing we did wrong, just life circumstances on the roomie's end forced him into a corner that required we move. We have until april 7/8ish to locate a new homebase to call home, not great considering Mike has so little free time with school. Everything here save the nightstands and the bed fit in the car. So who has a pickup they can loan us for an afternoon once we the new homestead? lol. All this on the eve on the next internship interview too.
