  1. Its a duel flag mount . What do I win?
  2. my class works...but is has a loose connection..or maybe needs re soldering. The system works...but the display doesn't I have to pop open the coolant reservoir door and reach back with my fingertips to apply pressure to the white plug on the class system. Then the display works and I can see what's going on. But It works well enough to ride. Right now I'm fixing cracks and doing body work on my trunk.
  3. I agree with helmets....especially in Canada where the taxpayer covers the medical bills. If someone smokes and gets lung cancer or emphysema ...or rides without a helmet and sustains head injuries then they should have to pay extra insurance to cover their own medical expenses. Why is it that almost universally everyone agrees that younger kids should wear a helmet for their own protection....but get up in arms when the gov't mandates helmets for OUR own protection? DUH:doh: Just my
  4. there is not a separate transmission fluid. All engine oil except for rear end pumpkin,
  5. bump?????? one last try
  6. only daily?
  7. I don't think Jerkey is a problem...more just fruits and vegies To be sure everyone understands...getting back into the US is harder because of US customs...you don't even stop at Canadian border guards on the way back into US. Be sure to give us a shout when you come up. I'm only 1 1/2-2 hours from Ottawa.
  8. sorry....the extra one I have is a left side. you got a STEAL on that bike!!!!
  9. but did you read the comments below the video? Some of them were really good!
  10. Alex has an 86 venture. The chrome rack on top is an "add on" ...not stock you should include your bike info in your header....that way everyone knows what bike you have. I have an extra rack for one side or the other....I'll check out which one it is and get back to you on it. I guess now you know what those "strings" on the lids are for!
  11. Hope I'm not highjacking this thread TOOOO much:whistling: I'm totally ignorant of this procedure... and don't have experience as a mechanic on the internal parts so could some one help me understand a bit more? During the rotation of the cam some of the lobes would be engaged, pressing against the valve stems with the valves partially open or closed. Some lobes would be totally free at any given time. So wouldn't you have to use the tool to rotate the cam to check clearances? or would you just use the rear wheel? Are there any good pictures of the shims etc....the pictures in the online manual are so dark you can't really see any details. I would be interested in a tool....and lots of help when the time comes..but I'm brave (or stupid) enough that I'm willing to try just about anything. I mean...what can go wrong right?
  12. 40,000 per year richer....lets see....I guess that means you folks must PAY about 15,000 per year for the privilege of going to work!
  13. I tried using a regular soldering gun and different types of zip ties to "weld' with. The stuff melted...but seemed to go crispy...which was easy to crumble away. So you would think it was too hot...but I could barely get them to melt!
  14. The very last picture....Marcarl....aka "billygoat"! I think that should be your new handle....sorta look like one anyway! Did the owner of the Jeep know what you were up to?
  15. So that one bit of advice alone saved you a lot more than the $12 to sign up. JUST DO IT! You won't be sorry.
  16. I always run the back wheel on top of a 2x4 or 2x6. Then is easy to get it up on center stand. You can put a 2x4 under the side stand too so it doesn't lean over too far when you get off.
  17. and a place where camping is an option. For many of us the motel charges would be a game changer.
  18. Wow! That looked like a nasty way to end a ride I could see cuts and scrapes... Nothing more serious I hope.
  19. I think it is full blown Alzheimers! you forgot the attachment!!
  20. Just "throwing it out there".... Don's MD is always a highlight of the year....and time-wise the International is not too far behind. Money and time is always a factor and many of us can't do both Unfortunately I couldn't make either one this year. Don said the MD attendance was a bit lower this year...and although I haven't seen any numbers, looking at the pictures, it doesn't look like all that many folks made it to the international. So.....why not combine both? (you don't mind me volunteering you do you Don?) Or do an "INTERNATIONAL" every second year...so it is a bit more "special" OK...let the abuse begin!
  21. Hmmm.....he has a total of 6 posts....last one in March of 2011....and HE won???? Herrrumph!!!!! Oh well, I was close....Ottawa's less than 2 hours away.
  22. Can't help with the how to. I'm wondering if it would fit in an oven to warm up a bit so you can flex it? But as far as being afraid to break it.....sounds like it's broken already so what have you got to lose?
  23. But what about passengers? you can't legislate against stupidity. People still drink and drive.
  24. Anyone? There's gotta be a couple of broken trunk boxes around!
  25. Just to prove you are telling the truth, is your garage done yet?
