  1. Nothing against a harley, I think they sound great and have known a few people that put some serious money into them to make them go very fast.... But I had one to pull up beside me at a red light here about 2 weeks ago... I was on my honda v65 sabre.... I wasnt even going to get into it but when the dude flipped me off for no reason...the crap was on.... anyone that knows the old v65 sabre knows pretty much what happened at that point... If I can get the money up tho I found a site where I can take my 1100 sabre and put a 1240 kit in it...hmmmmm the possiblities...
  2. This thread has definitely been a trip..... I learnt something tho..... all those women that said they were bi were polar...lol
  3. I have been married since 1988 and I literally told my wife how many times I got arrested for fighting, dirnking, and basically told her all the bad crap that I ever did. I told her I didnt want her to be a bit surprised if she gets around my friends and heard things she couldnt believe. Well I have a pretty good wife, only problem is she doesnt like to communicate, at all, even stuff I really need to know. But I can honesty say she has never tried to change me, sometimes I wished she had. This thread reminds me of a guy back home in TN, his mottos were: how can you trust something that bleeds once a month and never dies and women deserve the men they keep. It was amazing back home how many good looking women had asswholes for husbands/boyfriends. I always vowed tho that if my marrieage were to ever end, it wouldnt happen a second time...
  4. dynodon, That is about what I would expect from Mason from what I have read. Very talented musician and writer. Every time I hear Classical Gas I just get perked up and if I am ticked off it just goes away. I tried learning Classical Gas and wow that is an in depth piece of music to play it right. I got the intro down and a little further into it but my guitar talent isnt quite what it needs to be.
  5. In March i was down in crossville tn, while waiting for a few things I decided to look at some bikes... I tell ya the bike shop I went to had very good prices. There used stuff that was 2 years old with under 1K miles was cheaper than I could buy here in evansville that was 4 years older or more. I dont near have the funds for a new or newer bike right now so I guess I will keep on scootin with my 84 v65 sabre and my 83 yamaha venture. I figure maybe this winter I will look for a newer model and see what happens. Id really like to have a fj, newer 1st gen venture, my v65 sabre and a v twin of some sorts to just cruise around town once in awhile..
  6. well i know fractions.... liquor comes in a fifth i know my decimals liquor comes in a 1.75 liter hmmmm need i say more... actually i dont drink.... but how about that stupid bank 5/3 ????
  7. I tell ya i wished I could move to texas and leave this God forsaken state of agony they call indiana.... Once my daughters are out of school I am moving south... I have been above Tennessee for wayyyyyyyy to long... Now not saying north is bad, I happen to like michigan, maine, and the such but with weather, cost of living and CHILI, I cannot find good chili north of TN. but seriously all things considered Id rather be way south on about 30 acres of land with hardwoods all over it... then I could cut a tree, make bowl blanks, pen blanks, and sell them on ebay and then go riding for the rest of the day.... sounds like a good life to me...
  8. I was kinda thinking that when I read "we had 3 daves doin her"... lol
  9. good ole sardines.... they cure alot of things... had a punk in high school who just got a new ford truck... he loved his new truck dearly... but this oh boy had a mouth on him... unfortunatley he worked where I did... so me and another guy one night while out getting carts, got a can of sardines apiece... he did the windshield wipers, the pull up door openers and I did the exhaust.... boy was it a rainy night and when he hit his windshield wipers, well you know what that oil did... and the more the engine ran the ranker it smelt... a very inexpensive fix for an arswhole...
  10. I would love to be cruising down a twisty listening to Mason Williams - Classical Gas. One awesome instrumental...I'll try and find it and post it but I am sure most of you guys know who and what I am talking about by looking at some of the other things posted from the sixties. One more comment id like to make is that back in the 70's a band formed in a very little town of Puryear Tennessee. They were called T.R. Crooks. I am told the T is for tennessee and R is for River. Anyways they recorded there first album in a small trailer there in puryear and very good southern rock music. I cannot find a single recording of theres on a type of media that is descent to listen to, being back in the album days you know how they get scratched easy at "social gatherings". It sux that airplanes have taken out so many good groups/singers etc..
  11. Man I wished I could have gone this weekend. My old stomping grounds is paris, tn. and almost everywhere betweeh paris - nashville and paris - memphis.. You'll have a great time and ride safe.
  12. I have made wine and nut brown ale. The nut brown ale was an asss kicker... Went down smooth, no after taste and would lite up your world... The first batch of wine was nasty... the second batch was drinkable but now I have gotten out of it since I dont drink anymore... Economy keeps like it is and i may start to..lol
  13. I agree with the above quoted words... I have done over 120 on my v65 sabre, no possiblity of a crash with a car due to no cars around... at all... behind me or in front or on the sides... when I get in traffic I drive slower on a bike than I do a car just because I am looking for a problem motorist.. So yes there are some bikers that have caused a wreck, most of the time it is motorist. But to say just because I drove my cycle fast in an area where there are no vehicles doesnt make me cause a wreck...
  14. I am still trying to figure out how a 6.1 gallon tank took 6 9/10 to fill up... gotta be a second gen thing I reckon..Ö¿Ö
  15. that looks to easy.... Here some of the hair salons are collecting the hair they cut to send to help absorb the oil...
  16. I have to say something... that is just me... but this time I will try and keep my foot out of my mouth... The post about this counry going to hell for the last 200 years, well yes it slowly has. Has it hit rock bottom, no. But for noone to see what is happening around them is just wrong. I think what makes me mad is that there are alot of great people who do the right thing and honestly believe most others do, I wished I was one of those people but unfortunately I just dont have the trust in our leaders anymore. I still believe "in God we trust" I believe in our flag and what it stands for and even with the problems in our leaders I still would stand up and say "if you dont like it leave it". Just because I dont care for most of our leaders still doesnt make me hate our country, I just believe better things should/could be happening. Just my 2 cents and hopefully kept foot out of mouth and not ticked anyone else off..
  17. gotta have "born to be wild" watch out tho, might make you dig into the throttle a little more...lol
  18. The local bike shop, privately owned, that I was gonna have do my yamaha venture carbs went ape sh*t on me... I also have a honda V65 Sabre and on Wednesday I took I ride out to his shop and wanted to buy 2 little screws that go into the cap on the clutch master cylinder...Evidently that was not the question of the day... I ended up being told I was stupid for not bringing the screw with me, of course the screw was outside on the bike, then I was threatened of being shot so I went to grab for my keys to get out of there and he pulled his fist back to hit me, says he thought I was reaching for a gun, I dont carry a gun and my pants were to tight to put a gun in the pocket anyway... So yes this was just a messed up day. I am still shocked, I just cant believe all I wanted was 2 screws and end up in a confrentation. I rode over to a friends house and told him what happened and he has kawasaki's, yamaha's and a few honda's and they all had the same size screws for the brake cylinder and clutch cylinder so I am not sure why the guy was having a fit over bring in the screws... I never wanted to hit someone so bad in all my life, good thing I didnt tho, I later found out his best freind is a deputy sheriff. go figure. I think he could learn a few lessons from how this group/forum runs and acts... On for a better day tho.. I finaly got a new full time job and see my yamaha venture getting fixed up somewhere else and being ridden on a road trip soon...
  19. great looking bike... i am envious..
  20. That sux.. I will keep the family in my prayers also. I guess while I am at it might as well keep motorcycle riders in general in prayers.
  21. so that isnt really a storage bin, it is a wheelie maker...lol:Venture:
  22. the carbs on ebay are right at 100 bucks for carbs and shipping so I think I will pass on them.. I would not mind having an extra set but I can get mine rebuilt locally for 100 bux so I will probably do that. Has anyone ever rejected there first gen with a little larger jet and got much extra power vs. gas mileage decrease...??
  23. I think it is fun to speculate and also hear other spuclations... gets the mind going and also makes a person dream a little.. Now in my mind the perfect touring bike woulld look like a 1983 venture, vmax engine with turbo, 6 speed trans, full progressive suspension, (front and monoshock), personally I dont care about stereo etc due to when I ride that is when I like to think or just watch the scenery to clear my mind. cb would be good though in case you break down but then most carry cell phone... led break light and led turn signals, i guess that is all... maybe a bug washer for the winshield...
  24. if you had a feather up your arse and i had that bike, we would both be tickled to death..lol.. nice color... i had to look twice cause one pic showed a flat black and then the next showed glossy and i was like,,hmm i dont drink liquor so i didnt know what to think...
  25. yes i do believe sea foam is good but almost not worth the price of what they want for it now days... marvel myst oil.. wow good stuff havent used it since 1984. Used to have a 73 convertible challenger and as long as i kept marvel in the oil it ran fine and did not use any oil... I have been using lucas products for awhile and find it to be real good and if you buy it by the quart or gallon you save a bunch of money... seems to help the gas line clean realy good.
