I see no reason to have the carrier field. It seems the the only thing is does is tell you who someone pays for service.

I think that the answer to Brake Pads question is: yes there is a map, it is our members map. And if you are somewhere, anywhere, you can look and see if a member is nearby and if he has a phone number to contact, or a place to camp/stay. Of course this requires you to have a computer with you, or I suppose a smart phone could do that. I've never tried the phone thing.
-
I've thought about this and it seems to me that the only way to connect is on the internet, which of course means a computer. Now, I'm gonna do a trip again next year, and I'm not taking a computer and grudgingly taking my cell phone, so i see no way to do this. I'll preplan my trip generally, but not road for road. Then again, It gets WAY to complicated! I suppose my smart phone would be able to do some of these things.

Well, that didn't work. All I was going to say is that I'm with Don in what he is doing.

What a gorgeous bike. However him only owning it for a month and not wanting to talk to you would be a big red flag if it was me. Can you do a title search to see who has owned it. Maybe that would shed some light on it. And of course take it for a ride. Good luck,

Prayer request for Black Owl

You have been in my thoughts buddy! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery Owl. I'll be seeing you in Sept, and I'll even help with the chili. -
It's winter, it's supposed to snow, what's the big deal?
-
I've had one for a number of years now, and I hope this coming year to use it more than once. Not good at state parks though. What a great deal for seniors. My $7 Wisconsin fishing license is just about as good of a deal.

I can tell you that the tent that I have now is great for motorcycling. I've been using it for several years now. It is a "Coleman Hooligan 3". It is supposed to be a 3 man, but for one or two people it has room to move around in and store all of your gear. It has a great vestibule for boots and such, and can store all of your gear that you pack on your bike and doesn't cost a lot. Sets up very easily, and takes down just as fast. Maybe the best part is the rain fly. It goes to the ground all the way around. I don't like mummy bags, too little room to move your feet around for me.

So what is a good small, good sleeping bag to pack on a bike. I've been packing the same one for years, and is big and bulky. I'd like one that is much smaller, but doesn't cost a ton. Not a winter bag, spring thru fall. Price does matter! Suggestions?

Ruined it? The only part that looks bad is the seat.

I was going to paint my chopper/bobber kinda like that this winter, but changed my mind. A friend painted a sculpture that he did with this type of look. You can get different patinas depending on the look that you want, and can clear coat it, but I don't know how it holds up outside. This is their website: modernmasters.com When you get on the website, look at "metal effects" there are pictures

Did you buy these? Which number are they in your link? Thanks

How much do you pay for FULL coverage insurance on your 2nd gen?
eagleeye replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
This thread got me thinking about changing my coverage to full coverage for the 2005 RSTD and my 2002 /triumph Bonneville. I was in talking to my AAA agent and if he is correct, which I have my doubts, it will be $312.00 approx for both. In april I'll know for sure. Seems too cheap to me. -
I know a guy who had both, and used the VR for two up with trailer and the FJR for one up.
-
Congratulations on your retirement. Now let the fun begin.

I have to say that it is very nice to see pictures of Jerry/Boo. It really makes a guy think about your time here and the good friends that you make while your here. Here is a picture from a ride back in the summer of 2008 up in the hills of southern Wisconsin. A great day was had by all. (notice the VENTURE sign?)

Thanks for letting us know Eck. Boo has been up here a couple of times and he will be missed for sure. We did share some good Navy stories. And served on the same ship. RIP Boo

Naturbar, I'm very glad to hear that you both were able to walked away from your accident. (can't imagine watching my passenger fly over my shoulders though:)) It is very good news that she does not have to have surgery to heal that shoulder too. Reflecting is always an interesting thing. Where you were looking etc. I catch myself thinking about this sometimes in corners myself, like where I'm looking. And especially after a corner that I went into a little hot. It's nice that you have that sports car to play with. That should be fun itself. After reading that you are giving up riding it got me thinking. I'm a little older than you and when the time comes for me to give up the bikes, I'm going fishing. My friends give me a hard time now as to why I don't use my boat. There is only so much time, and a guy has to choose which toy he plays with. Well, when I stop riding, I'll play with my boat. the best to you both,
