  1. no help here, but it made me wonder. i never check mine and i don't check the key for heat either. I will though on the next ride to see how much heat it does/doesn't make.
  2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i was gonna post something like, but i restrained myself. however, now that the cat is out of the closet ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ;
  3. even if they come out with a 3rd Gen bike with the kind of stuff we wish for, i could not get one. I was lucky enough to find our 04 at a price that we could afford. 18 to 22 K is not in our budget. if it happens like sometimes it does, the new model will bring down prices on the older models. i will consider upgrading my 04 to, say, an 07 or 08 just depending how it goes.
  4. this is gonna b a long ride.
  5. you may not have the venture - BUT - you are having an Ad_venture. not stop reading this forum and get back to having fun. report the good times when u get bak
  6. I though a spell was a time frame. like when my aunt had a spell. she was out of it for days. or what momma said to folks who came over - ya'l set a spell woncha? even my ex wife had a voo doo queen put a spell on me. i guess the spell she had when we were datin wore out. or when i did sumthin bad and my dad had to spell things out for me! no, i will do fine with what i have. ifin u dont' understand me, too bad so sad. let's ride, nuff spellin!
  7. No problem. remember what the others said, to fill the overflow reservoir under the seat. as a shameless plug and sidenote - during my trial membership, i was amazed at the comraderie and knowledge sharing, that i knew i have to plunk down my dues. i have subscribed to magazines that were more expensive and i didn't get near what this site has to offer. after attending a maintenance day, i knew i had made a good choice. will be attending a members open house the coming saturday for another good time.
  8. once the tank is off, the radiator cap is to the right front. to refill, you will need a skinny bottle to pour your coolant mix in. it is a small orifice and EASY to spill over. using a small funnel with a good size lower opening will help. i wound up cutting a funnel to fit just for this purpose. pour slow so you don't get a false full indicator.
  9. knowing how the orientals are with symmetry in matching gardening to nature, i believe the non necessary bolt is for looks and balance of theme.
  10. we would need a volunteer to administer that. not me, just to clear the air.
  11. all good suggestions. I will check them out and then see witch one I like best. thanks.
  12. will allow you to input your own routes? most threads have comments about the turn by turn voice directions. i like mapping out my own route and would like to download that into a GPS. Then get the turn by turn directions without having to look at the tank bag window.
  13. boomer is too busy lickin the cheesecake goo off his fingers to put them on the keyboard ! ! !
  14. if a friend request is ignored and while no notification is performed, a few weeks later the sender will know they were probably not accepted. their life could be crushed beyond a venture under a tanker truck. they would sit in grief wondering why what coulda shoulda woulda what now. how will they go on living? just questions in the mind.
  15. If you hit the ignore button, and the igonored asks why, be responsible enough to tell the person you don't want to be that close. they will be offended because they thought enough to send the request to begin with. that's just how it goes. some days u r the dog and other days u r the fire hydrant. it is said a lot on this forum "it would have been better if such-n-such would have just said "blah blah" we may not be in this situation. I am very careful with facebook. i see way too much of some friends stuff that i know they can see my stuff as well. i don't time for facebook much less all the other stuff we have going on.
  16. it will get better with time. i hate sellin my stuff. haven't had to in a long time. I hope it is a lot longer.
  17. tough to be specific - most Santana, a lot of jazz.
  18. some days you wonder why you even woke up in the first place. shoulda jus stayed in bed.
  19. didn't you just get the comet??
  20. on the emissions side, i saw a yamaha water craft with 3 cylinders that is fuel injected. it was not new either. I don't see why they can't fuel inject the RSV. maybe they have and are not releasing it for market reasons. there are so many bikes from 99 to 2010 that parts inventory should not be an issue in the light of having all that left from not being able to produce a sellable motorcycle. we just don't know what yamaha will do. it would be nice to have an updated instrument panel, sound and light updates and a fuel injected motor. the rest of the bike seems ok to me. it's not like the technology is edge, just put it in the fairing.
  21. i did a google on it and came up with nothing. i believe it is a bit early for official news, but not so for rumors and hear say. here is my opinion that stems from last year- they will stay with the current model for 2011 due to the economy. they will produce less of them for the same reason. they are probably continueing R & R for an updated model for the near future, but want to time the market.
  22. welcome!
  23. Rob, ask what theft system the previous owner was talking about. the venture has a fork lock. swing the handlebars full lock to the left or right, i forget which way, then move the key to lock and pull out key. this is not the greatest but creates a pain for anyone trying to move your scooter. i try to remember to do this, but i usually don't
  24. check your bank to see what charges you get when you have transactions going through savings accnt. you can use checkin, once setup, you can put secondary means of payment, like credit card. initial setup is as stated. i have had PP for many many years.
  25. Ok, folks, seems like 15 more people are needed for a last run. I have mine and they look great. i would not have mine chromed as they seem fine as is. there is enough differences between all the stuff on the bike that the polished aluminum blends in just fine. once the last run is done, we will have a unique addition that may never be duplicated. the price is club terrific too, so thanks to Ruffy and his bud for making this available. in my area, i have the only set, heh heh.
