Ok, Grandson is having tubes put in his ears @ 6:00 tomorrow (Friday) morning. So I probably won't get on the road before 10:00AM, if anyone wants to tag along. Map Quest says it is about 360 miles or 6 hours. My Cell # is on my profile.

Nobody gonna throw rocks at you if you "cage it", especially since your scoot is out of commission.

Not sure what time I'm leaving. Kinda watching the weather. I haven't made motel reservations yet. If I go solo, I was gonna ride 'til I got tired and look for a room. Then get up Saturday morning and ride the rest of the way.

On a spur of the moment ride; The wife and I met BigBoyinMS and his wife this morning and we rode to Hattiesburg, MS (about 90 miles). His wife wanted to do some shopping at a discount outlet. I told him he was wise to bring her on the bike. We had lunch and rode home. Highway patrol was everywhere!!! Darn it, forgot the camera , but did take one, not so good, picture with the cell phone.

3rd gear WOT!!!

We are close to Jackson on I-20 and Natchez Trace. By "lower part" does she mean I-10? I might just get the notion to ride down there. There are some members in the Gulfport/Biloxi area. Walter

Just be careful for the 1st 100 miles or so!!! Get 'em scuffed up before throwing them into any serious twisties!!!!! New tires always ride better... The Continental I put on the RSV sure seems to grip better, stopping, than the 404 I took off.

Don't know if is what you are talking about, but there is a free play adjustment screw for the front brake lever on both my '98 RSTC and my '99 RSV.

Gunk, Will your route bring ya anywhere close to Mississippi?

Yeah, I'm a low tech kinda guy too. Upgrades??? My '99 RSV is the newest member of my "fleet". My daily driver is a 1983 Caprice Classic that just turned over 299,000 miles. 'nuff said...:stirthepot:

Is it time for Seafoam?

Turn the gas selector off and run the engine 'til it quits. turn the key off and the gas back on. Now turn the key back on until the fuel pump quits ticking. That may flush out anything under the needle, if that is the problem. Good luck!!! -
Darn, they left Mississippi off your map...

Sure glad to hear y'all are relativley OK, but wondering what brand of textile jacket and how did it let her get the road rash?

Goes back to my point, more than one light out front. And another thing, think of the passing lights, of what ever variety, as "backup" in case of headlight bulb failure.
-
I have ridden ahead of folks that have and don't have passing lights. It is amazing to me how the bike with no passing lights blends in and disappears in the mirror. The ones WITH the passing lights stand out. Forget the "looks" thingy, more lights mean you are easier to see. To me having the passing lights on ALL the time is a safety thing.
