  1. MAMA - What a fowl thing to say!!!!
  2. Thanks again for all the replies. I really do not need another noisy bike. I rode a Dyna and although it really shook at idle, it was pretty quiet as was the Kawi 900. The dealer here has to order the 950 and they will let me ride it first - just hate to have them do all this and then turn it down but I will if its as noisy as the RSTD. Hey - maybe a scooter???
  3. Thanks for the info......
  4. Hello everyone Has anyone ridden or bought this beastie? My main question is - does it have the same "chirp/whine/noise" as the Venture? I'm thinking of this as a second bike but I really don't want any more Yammy noises!!! ps - somewhat difficult around here to get a test ride.
  5. Hoping to get my front tire replaced tomorrow - if so, I'll meet up in Mono Mills and ride to Bala for lunch - then head back as Lorie's grandkids will be visiting that night. If the front tire is not done by the end of tomorrow, I'll have to pass and wish you all a safe ride - weather sounds magnificent!!! Cheers Eugene
  6. Depending on the route and pit stops, I could meet up part way. Which day are you thinking - Thursday or the weekend?
  7. I did hear on the news that Burlington was declared a disaster zone and federal funds are their way!!!
  8. Oh Oh - don't send that stuff over here....
  9. Listen for and count the "whines" - they can be heard across North America.....
  10. Well, the Georgian Bay area wasn't much better until today - about 22 - tomorrow rain and then 3 nice warm sunny days at last! Just think - another week and the days start to get shorter - ain't that cheery???
  11. I have used these for over 4 years and still on the original set - I find them easier to insert and much more comfortable. Cheers Eugene http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.aspx
  12. Okay - I shouldn't be laughing but that was hilarious.....glad there were no serious mishaps!
  13. I'm sure you will get lots of help here with the bike questions. My only concern would be that if "hubby" is still getting his licence, perhaps the Venture may be a bit too much for your first bike. The 950 sounds about right. Good luck with your search.
  14. I support you 100% and have tried for a long time to not buy "made in China" products - I have found, in the longer term, I save money by spending a bit more up front. Having said that, we also must read the labels with some understanding - especially food products - just because it says made or produced in CAN/USA, it does not necessarily mean the contents were grown in CAN/USA. Canada has strange labelling guidelines where only a certain percent has to be Canadian to get the label "produce of Canada". Can't remember the guidelines but they are somewhat misleading. Your point of buying local and skipping the retailer is the only sure way to buy local. Cheers
  15. :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:
  16. Can't compare to the Venture seat but I have the Mustang on my RSTD and my lady friend loves it - comfy without being too cushy.
  17. So then why is a watch worn on a wrist - wouldn't you have time on your wrists??
  18. Now that's funky........
  19. There are actually three sides to every story - her side, the border patrol side and somewhere in between, the truth!! I have been crossing the Can/US border regularly for 5 years now and I have never had an issue from either side - must be my charming personna!!!!
  20. A little Vespa with the shopping bag hook......
  21. Hi Mini - so glad to hear it went well and good luck again with the next one.....
  22. Ditto - EXCEPT her left foot stays on the ground! v-e-r-y l-o-n-g legs - makes it real easy to hold the bike up!!!
