I have been using the Pl 14610 for years. There are two types of PL 14610's, one is a micro filter. Thats the one you want. tew47 -

Put 185,000 on a R60/5. Put 100,000 on a '97RSTD. My '07 RSV has 10,000 on it. 60,000 on a '86 Goldwing and 60,000 on a K100LT. That just some of them. Didn't own a car from 1970 till 2000. tew47

Had clutch basket changed out but did not completly fix the problem. It still whines up to 60mph where I can't hear it anymore. tew47

Hope someone has an answer to this, my mike really makes the whine real loud. In fact I unpluged my headset because it made the whine so loud. I have the afoam cover over the mike. tew47

Try tighting up the valve stem. Alot of tire changers take the valve stem out and do not tighten it enough when putting it back in. tew47 -
The latest MSF stadards say for a bike under 600cc you use a 20' by 60'. On bikes 600cc and above you use a 24' 70' box. After you do the box you do 2 s cruves that are ten feet right and ten feet left. If you can do the two cruves you can do the box. Find a empty parking lot and measure off the parking lines that are connected and you have your box to work with. tew47

As for riding without a full face or flipup helmet, I would not ride a bike with anything but a full face helmet!!! I have seen the results of wearing a half helmet so I'm wearing a flipup helmet. My side ato side vision is just as good as someone not wearing a helmet. Just lean back on the backrest and look over the driver shoulder in the direction of the turn,relax and enjoy the ride. tew47

Has anyone seen the sport uhaul trailer? Saw one today, looks like it would make a good motorcycle trailer. It had alot of tail lights and a fairly long tounge. tew47

Went 209 miles and put in 4.9 gallons in which is 42.6 on interstate at 70 to 80 mph tew47

The young man I talked to in the hospital name is Ryan Ramsey, he is from that area. His father told me the story, he is also retired from the navy. The wreck happened just over a week ago. His father told me about the red truck and about the previous wreck and the police looking for the truck. No one was kill , just hurt bad. tew47

Warning to all members that might be going across Mississippi on Interstate 10, in the last two week two jerks in a red puckup truck has run two motorcycles off the road. Both riders had serious injuries. So if you are going east or west on I 10 watch out for red trucks!!!!! tew47

I'm leaving on the 16th and should be there by 11am. I believe there will be five bikes in our group, one Venture and a RSTD or more. We wil be staying at the Super 8 motel. tew47

I wear a helmet it has saved my life several times. I have also seen the results of not wearing a helmet, was not very nice to see, don't think I will ever forget. tew47

Got mine back after clutch basket change. It was quiet as a church mouse for about ten miles and then started whining again, but not as bad. One type of noise went completly away and the whine stops at about 60 mph. So I guess is is alittle better, even put Mobil 4t in and got better mpg. tew47

The only difference is exercise 9 and you will be riding your on bike. One through 8 is in the BRC course. tew47

MPG after changes!

Did a ride to New Orleans yesterday on hwy 90 west and drove 45 to 50 mph and got 52mpg. 93.7 miles and 1.8 gal. I just changed oil to Mobil 4t and Mobil gear oil. Everything else is stock. Made sure carbs were synced. tew47 -
How would like to teach the ERC course on a Venture? Does make it a little harder. Noteable in the box and offset weave. I like exercise 9 the best. Rode with a group today mostly HD, boy did they needed to take the BRC real bad!!! One of my students who took the BRC two months ago rode better than they did. I was proud of him. tew47
