    What I'm curious about is how the previous owner had that and had enough interest in ventures to do all of that to it and he didn't belong here. Nice ride & sounds like you got a great deal.

    I've had seafoam in it all winter. I checked the mileage on the way home from work and it went up to 33 mpg at 75 mph. I'm still not satisfied. I know it's gotta be better than that. I'm just not sure what to do now. The bike's running great, idling good, not back firing, and in synch. Hoping someone here can give me a couple of more suggestions.

    Don, I quit about 5 years ago. Hang in there it gets easier. If I could give you one piece of advice that really helped me, it would be to drop everything the moment the craving starts and start doing something else. No matter what your doing, drop it and get your mind on something else. The cravings come when your doing something that is a trigger for when you're used to smoking so if you drop what your doing (the trigger) it gets you focused on something else. It really helped me. The other thing that really helped me was to not tell anyone that I was quitting. I figured that if I was talking about, I was thinking about it. Keep it off your mind and your struggles will not be as often. I hope these help. Be strong. Think of other things. You will be glad you stuck it out.

    I rode the bike in to work today (about 60 miles @ 40 degrees) and was really happy with the way it performed since it was my first time out on the new scoot. I stopped to fill up and checked my mileage and was surprised to see I only got 26 mpg. I recently synched the carbs. Here's the dumb question part. I then realized I had driven the bike with it choked about 1/4-1/2. Will that affect the mpg's that much? Also, did I possible hurt anything on the bike by driving it that far with it choked?

    I've got the showchrome also. It was on the bike when I bought it so I've never ridden with the OEM shield. I do like the size of the one I have tho.

    Learned 2 things yesterday. 1) the tilt trailer I bought was not a good idea. Ramps are better. 2) RSV's are really heavy when they have your left leg trapped between it and your new tilt trailer. Now for the real reason for the post: The only thing damaged on the bike during my little mishap was a broken left side lower fairing. I need one and would rather get it from someone here than ebay, craigslist, etc. I would even make a "fairing donation" to Freebird over and above what I pay for the part to help defray cost of running this site. So, if anyone has one laying around, please pm me. I've only had her since Thanksgiving and seeing it like this is really bumming me out. I ride a 00 RSV MM. I would prefer to get one from a millenium but it doesn't have to be.

    I can relate, we were without power in Dexter, Mo for a week. Not as bad as you though. Hang in there! Maybe this will help. :lightbulb:Hope you can see a little now.

    She'll eventually tire of dragging you thru the tar pits. Your son, whether you realize it or not, is probably defending your honor in his home. Your still his dad & even tho he won't speak to you, no likes to hear someone trash their dad. They'll come around. Give it time.

    My 1st wife and I divorced when he was 1 year old and my daughter was 3. Tough times for them as well as me. My daughter was mad for a long time. Best advice I can give you is to talk to the wife and explain that the way that the 2 of you talk about each other is going to determine how the kids feel. She plays a huge roll. I didn't bash the wife and she didn't bash me. I just kept telling them I loved em over and over no matter how mad they were at me. I'd tell them and then tell them some more. Just don't rush it. It's tough on them more than anyone, but they usually adapt well. It's gonna take time & if the ex is bashing you, she'll eventually chill on that too. I hope this helps as all of the above was learned the hard way. God bless you, your ex and the kids.

    Hey Squeeze, I lived in Gronau, Westfallen for about a year. That thing should fit in really well on the autobahn. Looks like fun to me!!!!! As for looks, awesome to me. Like a cannon ready to go off.

    "The Vehicle Miles of Travel tax is being hailed as an innovative way to generate transportation revenue by states that have seen gasoline tax dollars stagnate because of people driving less and cars becoming more fuel efficient" The statement above quoted from that article confirms to me that politicians, with all of their retoric, really aren't concerned about fuel economy. Their only real concern is that they maintain and not allow the amount of tax revenue that they currently take in (and waste) to remain the same and not go down.
