  7. I had the nexum with cobra on my 2000 RSV, works just as good as the kumho, just I was running 40 psi in the nexum, compared to 36 in the kumho. I think the nexum may ride a little better( softer ) We using the avon cobra not the venom.

  12. RED has just distroyed me, I will never recover(well maybe for next 30 seconds) I AGREE WITH RED 100%, TOUGHEN UP, leave you emotions out of it and consider what you read, keep if you find it useful, ignore it if don't. laugh if you thinks its stupid. Just don't throw personel insults at anyone. I will shut up now Gregg
  13. Come on a harley guy talking about changes, 2009 harley looks like the 1950, thay have not changed the fairing or saddlebags, since then, maybe a little cosmetic, and yes the updated the engines, but they had to, they were pure junk. They did fuel inject, but were forced by EPA regs. There reliability has greatly improved, but then again, thats the Idea, Harley makes efforts to improve the product without affecting the looks. They fight water cooled because thay don't want a radiator changing the bikes appearance. True Harley Riders don't want anything changed. Hence Yamaha's stance on the Venture, They do not need to alter the looks, just give us fuel injection, and put the gauges where the tape deck is. Leave the looks alone untill the end of Yamaha. Harley with never change the basic look of the ELECTRA GLIDE, Ultra.
  14. ONE OF MY FAVORITES ACTORS. I work in the ICU, you would be shocked at the number of cancer patients. Many prayer are needed. Gregg
  15. If you see your own mother at the intersection, remember she is after you too. It's not parinoid, it's a way to learn to ride ever vigilate, becomes second nature. We were in the gulf a few weeks back, and my wife asked me 'why to you continually look behind and all around the boat.' I told her just keeping up with what is happening around us. Bad things can happen quickly out at sea too. Lets just all stay safe as we can, always remember Randya saying. invisible not invincible. Gregg
  16. I have to disagree with the gas statement, the harley's that I ride with All put more gas in at every stop than I, the last time me and bobby(07 eletraglide) rode, he put at least 1/2 gallon more than my Venture each stop. Have ridden with some that were the same, but never better, now karren's road star beats me every time. gregg
  17. I can not believe how low some are going, trying to take MY gauges, clearly I have written the best true to life story(lie) there is here, why are you people wasting Don eyes making him read all of your dull, unbelievible, fibs. And adventurer 1943, having the gall to ask Don to install the gauges( Don please have V-Goose bring them and install on my bike when you give them to me)private messsege) I can't believe it, someone has stooped so low as to have his wife beg for him.( make note for future use) Just some all times lows here.( good ploy make more notes ) To top it all off, I was almost called out of work today, I would had to used a PDO, and Will have to use a paid day off, to go on the iron butt ride to meet the other venture riders. You people need to quit, just give up, I have already clearly posted the best complete line of bull ever written. After all I am legend, in my own mind. PS. my bike is white so I will be needing a white face plate. There will be no need for Goose to bring any tools, I have my own shop with all the necessary tools to do the job. Plus all of the adaptors and fitting we may need in stock. Gregg:stirthepot:
  18. I will give you a call, me and karren frequetly ride to albany to eat, maybe we could get together and form a plan, also I noticed yall are going to daytona. Gregg
  19. Jerry do you have any problems, draging the pipes in sharp curves, or intersections. I would like to lower mine for looks, but don't want the dragging issue. Gregg
  20. Looks like we will have a good showing of Venture Riders can't wait GREGG
  21. I meet up with I guy who owns a venture, not I member here, tried to get him to sign up but he said he no use for bike clubs. To the point, ultimate does not make a seat for our bike, but they do for the tour deluxe, he had purchased the frount for the tour deluxe, took the pad and cover off and transfered to the venture seat pan, I am going to do the same when I can afford to buy the seat, but the wife wants one for her road star, so got to get hers first. Gregg
  22. I going to be the odd ball on the issue, while I have not lowered mine, I'm 6'1", I have put leveling links on my 2000 RSV rode it a few miles, and took them off, made the bike handle like crap to me especially at low speed in town, then I rode a 2005 which was lowered, I liked it a whole lot better. Just the opposite of the general opinion here. My 2004 is stock, I run 0 air in the rear, and only 2 to 4 lbs frount. Cobra on frount, kumho on back, 36 psi in both. Bike handles perfect to ME. The only reason I have not lowered it, don't want to drag the pipes, at 6'1" I really don't need it lower. Now my better half at 5'2" road star had to be lowered, and I mean its lower, seat hits me in the knees, but it handles and rides and looks great. Gregg
  23. Hope to see you there, will look for other ventures. Gregg
  24. There are times your are just trapped, no way out. I been there too. But most of the time, keeping up with what going on around you, will keep you safe in most situations. In the situations you were in, nothing to do but hold ride out, and pray for the best. Gregg
  25. I was riding Saturday and came up behind a group of guys on bikes, mostly harleys, they were running a little slower than I was but not enough for me to pass the on a 2 lane. So I just rode along behind, and began to notice how they rode, sitting straight up, heads held up chin up, first thought was these guys ride with good posture. So I straighten up out my normal slouchy postion, but then as we went through intersections they looked straight ahead not really looking at the cars coming up to the intersections. At one crossroads a pickup appeared that he was not going to stop, he actually had to slam on brakes and slide to a stop, not one of the 7 bikes in frount of me made any adjustment or preperations to avoid the truck. last bike on the right missed the frount bumper of the truck on a few inches, I had allready moved left and slowed to be ready if he came out. But the others rode on as if they never saw him. This is way many bikers get hurt, they ride like they own the road, yes we had the right-of-way, but he was in a 3/4 ton four wheel drive. I thought of RANDYA's signs off, Ride as if you are invisible not invincible words to stay alive by. thanks RandyA and mine now, You might have the right-of-way, but ride like you don't. Gregg
